I cannot recommend working with Hallie enough. When I first met Hallie, it was clear to me after only a few minutes that she was the right doula for us. Her kindness, empathy and gentle energy shone through immediately and I knew we would be in good hands.
What I liked best about working with Hallie during my pregnancy was her complete lack of judgement. She makes it clear she is there to inform and ensure you have all of the facts so that you can confidently make the best decisions for yourself and your baby. She doesn’t judge or try to influence your birth plan decisions but will give her opinion on pros and cons if you ask – aka the perfect thought partner. I was diagnosed with GD during my pregnancy, and Hallie was able to quickly connect me with resources to better understand the diagnosis as well as recipes to help manage my blood sugar through diet. Hallie also regularly and proactively checked in with me throughout my pregnancy, which is something I really appreciate because I am not always the best texter. She made it easy to stay in touch and keep her in the loop.
When it came to labor, Hallie was so amazing. I went into labor almost two weeks early with little warning, and Hallie jumped right into action. She met us at the hospital and immediately was able to help soothe the stress of a very fast / intense labor and prepare me for my epidural. She worked seamlessly with the hospital team even though it was her first time at Danbury Hospital, and knew exactly when to step in or step back. She guided my husband on how to support me during pushing and just overall was a fantastic support partner to us both. She stayed with us for a few hours after delivery to make sure we were settled and comfortable, and we were sad to see her go.
