I'm so grateful to have had Julie's incredible support through the many stages of this big life change. She has an attentive, warm, thoughtful, grounded and nurturing presence. Her knowledge and resources have been so useful during pregnancy and postpartum -- I keep returning to one lactation resource she shared over and over again. From teaching us the ins and outs of infant care and lactation, to debriefing the wild ride of the birth and hospital experiences, to providing soothing massages during the early postpartum weeks, Julie was always a calm and reassuring presence. It was a great feeling when she cared for our baby one afternoon so that my partner and I could go on a walk and have some rare couple time together in the early days. Initially, I was drawn to Julie because of her commitment to justice and community care, and I'm especially appreciative for how she really took the time to get to know us and offered guidance and clarity in ways that allowed us to make choices in line with our values.
