We were so thankful to have Rebekah as our doula! This was my third baby (and I hadn't had a doula before), so at first I didn't think I needed any extra help this time either. A few weeks before my due date though, I started feeling like I would need someone else in my court for a potentially hard labor (big baby!). Another doula in the area who wasn't available said that Rebekah was well respected and would serve me well. It was so true! Even though it was such short notice, Rebekah was available and was able to quickly work me into her schedule to do a couple meetings before delivery. She was always fast to respond to questions/updates I had, and when I was ready to go to the hospital, she got to there so fast and was with me even in the triage room helping me stay in a better labor position while waiting for a room. She was amazing during labor - she did acupressure through contractions (something that was way more helpful than I anticipated), helped my husband help me, got me in different positions, found me equipment, and so much more. Her skills, energy, kindness, encouragement, and reassurance were so helpful through an unmedicated delivery of a 10 pound baby! Also, she's a mom herself so she has that practical mom experience. Another thing I really appreciated about her was that she worked well with/around my nurses and midwives in the hospital and didn't create conflict or drama. I thank God that this labor/delivery was by far the best one of the three I've had, and Rebekah being there was a major part of it. There's something special and safe about having a doula as an extra advocate and helper.
