For our second child, we knew that we needed someone who would listen to me. Listen to my wishes, advocate for me, and truly understand that I wanted a different experience than our first. We had a doula the first time, too, but that doula never listened and left my side. Beth was - a blessing. She answered all my questions, helped, and was a support structure I had not experienced the first time. Regular communication and genuine care were shown during every interaction. I hadn't realized how much pent-up resentment I had from my first birth experience and how traumatizing it indeed was as a whole. When I had doubts, she would teach me to advocate for myself and to realize this was about my baby and me. I would shout to the rooftops to testify how amazing she was. On the day of the birth, she showed up with essential oils, gentle lights, and a soft touch. She was also fantastic with my husband. She took photos, gave supportive words, and gave the room such an energy. This birth was a resolution of the former trauma. While I will never forget the first birth, the second (with Beth by my side) gave me that chance to have it the way I wanted, the way I should have had it the first time. She's a blessing and you will cherish the support and love she gave to you and yours.
