From the moment that I serendipitously ran into Camille with her two beautiful boys at Ross after scheduling a phone consultation I knew it was gonna be a great fit. At our prenatal visit, Camille put me at ease about so many of my concerns and was just so easy to communicate with. She was even great with our rambunctious dog!
I had been nervous to take prenatal classes, not wanting to inundate myself with scary information. Camille functioned for me as a real time education fielding all my questions about what was going on with me and my body as it happened throughout my pregnancy. My husband took great comfort in this prenatal support as well.
During my labor, Camille was phenomenal. She reminded me of my initial plan and desires while offering support both emotional physical and simultaneously being flexible as my desires changed. Camille decorated the labor and delivery room with lights and affirmation cards and electric candles. She showed up as soon as I was admitted with a TENS unit to help me get through initial contractions without medication. She had me walking laps at 6 cm dilated and lunging through the hallway. She encouraged me to try different positions and in the end, she was the one across from my husband, holding my leg and counting through my contractions as I pushed.
Camille was a cheerleader and guide; her presence absolutely critical. Her perspective often differed from and yet complemented that of the midwives and nurses at Capital Health. She was a needed voice.
Following the birth of my beautiful son, Camille stayed in touch, checking up on me and even offering to support us for several night shifts as we searched for a more permanent night nanny.
I highly recommend Camille as a birth doula.
