We hired Janelle to help us with the birth of our 4th baby and 3rd unmedicated birth. I believe that every birth can benefit from the presence of a doula but especially for every mom who plans to go unmedicated - whether it is your first, fourth or tenth. And I cannot say enough good things about Janelle as a doula!
I felt heard and understood from our initial meeting. She really took the time to understand my previous birth experiences and was attentive to my hopes for this birth, including what I expected/needed from her. When I was in labor, she came to my house and helped with positions that could encourage things to move along. Because of her help, this was my fastest labor, which I was SO thankful for. She was hands on at the hospital and encouraging when I needed it. I even appreciated that she kept a time log of my labor that she shared with me afterwards because my memory was a bit fuzzy from “labor land”. I was also so thankful to have a fellow believer as a doula. She put together a playlist full of worship songs for me to listen to and prayed with me when she could see I needed it.
Janelle was an invaluable addition to my birth team. She was hands on, attentive and a calming but confident presence. Forever grateful for her!
