My wife and I experienced different types of emotions and anxieties before the birth of our son in 2022 and having the preperation and coaching we received with our doula at that time was invaluable. Fast forward to 2024, and we were blessed to be pregnant with a baby girl. A fair amount of time had transpired and admittedly we couldn't recollect everything, especially myself. Not having labored at home due to requiring an induction the first time around also made us a little weary; enter Sarah Hendricks. Our cousins had worked with her and had endless positive things to say about their experience. We were fortunate that she could work with us and we loved her from the start. She's such a wonderful human with tremendous experience having done this for so many years. In our first meeting, it was clear that she wanted to get to know us. She asked very thoughtful questions teasing out what we were looking for as a couple and as individuals. She helped us realize our fears and desires and coached us to our goal. She was always available and very responsive to our needs before and after delivery. Her calm demeanor and genuine care were very soothing in times of stress. We ultimately had an unexpected home delivery with less than 4 hours of fairly low key labor that rapidly escalated to 20 mins of active labor. I was in charge of coaching my wife through things whilst communicating with family, our midwife, and Sarah and as stressful as things should have been, my preparation and communication with Sarah were very calming and helped us have a successful birth at home. In hindsight, we should have contacted Sarah sooner as having her present would have made things even less stressful, but I think this highlights the value of the sessions we had with her and with A Brighter Birth, LLC beforehand. We are forever grateful for Sarah and hope to work with her again. We recommend her without any reservations (and already have done so for two couples).
