Audi is an exceptional doula and lovely person. My wife and I were anxious about the birth of our first child, especially knowing the statistics of black mother mortality rates. Audi calmed our anxieties from our first meeting with her nurturing, patient temperament. In the weeks leading up to delivery, Audi visited our home multiple times to help us craft a birth plan that aligned with our preferences (my wife always wanted an epidural). She shared evidence-based information about pain management, labor expectations, and breathing techniques. Her frequent check-ins via texts and emails were a constant source of support. Once labor started, Audi was in constant contact with us. She advised us on comfort techniques and provided clear cues about hospital timing. When contractions intensified, she offered specific suggestions that truly helped. Once it was time to go to the hospital, Audi actually beat us there (at 5 am no less!). At the hospital, Audi was dedicated to my wife's care for more than twelve hours without missing a beat. She provided continuous physical support - applying counter-pressure, guiding breathing exercises, and suggesting position changes that helped labor progress. When my wife was ready for her epidural, Audi helped us communicate effectively with the medical team. Audi's support didn't end with delivery. During our postpartum visit, she helped us process our birth experience, offered practical newborn care tips, and provided emotional support during those challenging first weeks. She continues to check in with us periodically via text to ensure we're getting the support we need, which is especially meaningful as we don't have family in the area. Throughout our journey, Audi maintained a perfect balance of professional expertise and warm, personal support. She consistently went above and beyond to ensure we felt supported, informed, and empowered. I cannot recommend her doula services highly enough.
