I can't say enough in praise of Raina! I was prodromal with my first baby, so I knew I wanted a doula for my second birth. From our first encounter, Raina was so warm and knowledgable, and it was immediately clear that she goes above and beyond for her clients. Raina supported us throughout my second and third trimesters, offering education, good humor, and positioning advice to help me avoid being prodromal a second time. My second baby ended up being late, and Raina was such a wonderful resource, calming me and pointing me towards evidence-based birth research so I could make informed decisions. Raina has a wealth of knowledge, but never pressured me to do things a certain way or judged my choices. I ended up opting for induction at 41 weeks, but I was not having a good experience with the nursing staff at Good Sam. My labor had stalled from the stress of arguing with the nurses about interventions I did not want or need. Raina swooped in like a warrior princess, and with the gravity of her physical presence and a few polite but pointed words, the nursing staff immediately backed off, and labor started progressing at a rapid pace. Raina deserves credit for the fact that my daughter was born six hours later in a straightforward, ucomplicated birth. It was Raina's arrival and her support that got my contractions going again and gave me the confidence to give birth. If she had not been there, it's likely I would have been pressured into uneccesary interventions that may have resulted in a c-section. Raina was also a wonderful presence after the birth, taking photos of us with our new daughter, and making sure I had everything I needed. For weeks after we got home, she answered midnight texts, offered lactation support, and kept me sane. I feel so fortunate to have had Raina as our doula. I'm pretty sure she's actually a birth goddess masquerading as human, blessing the fortunate few who are her clients.

Raina was amazing! She helped answer so many questions my partners and I had about my pregnancy and birth and was always available to text for questions between meetings as well. Super supportive and caring, as well as extremely knowledgable. She helped me through pushing my babygirl out and through everything directly after. She's even been there to check on me days and now weeks after the fact (currently 3 weeks postpartum) to make sure I'm doing well physically and mentally. She's wonderful! Definitely suggest her to others.

My husband and I have already been talking about possibly having her as our doula for when I'm pregnant with our second child, if/when that happens.  :)

Raina is amazing. She always listens to what you want. She is so amazing at doing what you need even you aren't able to communicate it.  Raina was with me at both of my births. I could not have done it without her. I love her. I highly recommend her.

Raina is a very informed dula to have on your birth team! My husband and I enjoyed working with her through my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. She is accessible, non-judgmental abd supportive for any situation you may have. I did not have complications but I had difficulties in my pregnancy and Raina was always available to listen and give fresh ideas on how to cope.

since my husband and I don’t have family that could support us in birth it was invaluable to have Raina on our team. She helped advocate and get me through back labor! Her and my husband were a great team.

I highly recommend her services. She’s more than a person you hire to help you, she’s a friend and family member!

I could easily write an entire novel on how wonderful Raina is! You want someone well worth the investment and an amazing addition to your birth team - you hire Raina!

From day one Raina was constantly in touch with us. She becomes a dear friend by the time baby comes! We couldn't have felt more comfortable with her being present, especially my husband! She's incredibly thoughtful, supportive, dependable. If you have questions, she finds answers! You want someone to help you make sure that your wishes are met, she does everything within her power to make sure she can! You want your placenta encapsulated, she's a rock star at it!

When we had our second kiddo, my husband felt bad leaving my side and hardly took care of himself but when we had Raina at our last birth, she didn't just take care of me, she made sure we BOTH had our needs were met and he felt amazing knowing that if he had to step out, he left me in great hands! Thank you SO MUCH Raina!

Raina is a true healer and magickal lady. When she came into the space, her presence truly made me feel ready to have my son. She is grounded, fierce in her advocacy and knowledgeable.
Choosing her as my doula was the best decision I could have made for DeAngelo's arrival. Not only did both me and my husband have the support we needed but I gained a true friend. I am eternally grateful and recommend her to anyone.

As new parents trying to navigate the vast amount of information and planning that revolves around having a child, we were so happy to have Raina as our doula. Raina met with us pre- baby more than other doulas we interviewed offered to, which helped us feel confident and comfortable with having her with us as we brought our daughter into the world. She provided provided great information from her knowledge-base and experiences, as well as reliable outside information and resources as we needed them. Raina respected and actively listened to our needs and adapted her services to fit our specific desires, which helped us shape our birth plan and expectations around labor, delivery and postpartum life. Raina's relaxed, non-judgemental and friendly style truly helped to put our first-time-parent nerves at ease. Thank you, Raina!

I remember meeting Raina for the first time and thinking, "wow, I really like this chick and her vibe!".   There was something about her that made me feel instantly safe and knew she would be perfect for our family regarding the birth of our daughter. She was very attentive and met with me several times before the big event. She let me text her as much as I needed to talk me down after having some anxiety. She was always so reassuring but also gave me research to back it up. She's quite knowledgeable especially regarding positioning and helper me bring my baby down by using the rebozo technique. During the actual birth she was the perfect partner for myself and my husband as it was a very intense and quick birth! She even had these amazing gummies and honey sticks for after the birth so that I could feel rejuvenated after working so hard with labor. She followed up the next day and encapsulated my placenta and did a beautiful job making the pills for me. I can't thank her enough for helping my beautiful Calliope come into this world.

Raina is polite and professional from beginning to end... beginning with answering all of  your questions and concerns before you make the decision to go through with her services, and all the way through the birth of your child, delivery of the products, and following up you  afterwards. Her customer service is excellent and exceeded my expectations.

I got the placenta encapsulation and was very pleased. It was my second time doing it and I didn't have any issues with energy, milk production, sleep, or post partum depression. Yea, it could've all been a placebo effect, but even my midwife thought I looked better and healed faster than she expected the average c-section mom to recover.  I would highly recommend Raina to anyone considering placenta encapsulation. Or anything else she makes.

I had the pleasure of meeting Raina in my last month of pregnancy. Unfortunately I was not able to use her as a Doula due to my planned cesarean however I was able to acquire her services for placenta pills. She was extremely professional and curteous. Any and all questions that I had were answered in a prompt manner and most importantly she made me feel comfortable. Raina made the process super easy by meeting my husband at the hospital to collect the placenta and then she personally dropped off the pills at our house when we returned from the hospital. Raina continued to check on me even after her services were complete, which was much appreciated. Anyone who decides to work with Raina will be happy they did!

I hired Raina very last minute (6 weeks before due date; 4 weeks before I actually gave brith). We met with three other doulas, but she was the only one was that was hip, cool, positive and offered to meet more than 1-2 times. She was so friendly and upbeat and was a wealth of knowledge and resources. And when she didn't know the answer, she said so and pointed is in the right direction to GET the answer. Her rebozo work was a goddess-send and the bridge she built between my husband, myself and her was a gift I can never repay. My husband said he felt like he was truly a part of the birth experience. I had a prodromal labor that was intense and she was always a phone call away until my birthing time where she arrived, brightened the dull birthing room with sweet orange oil, flameless candles, laughter, soft touches and gentle instruction to move and reposition. She worked well with the nurses and midwife and even the OB who came in as consult remembered her from previous births (such a relief for some reason). She helped us communicate with family and the birthing team about our wishes and was a soft voice in my ear when I was pushing.  After our birth, she encapsulated my placenta and met with me once more after that. She was still very much a text/call away to us new parents. I never felt like a bother. I can't wait to do this over again with Raina at our next birth! Highly recommend.

Raina was a wonderful addition to our birth team and home birth VBAC experience! We had multiple meetings before my birth, which I enjoyed because it gave us time to go over everything I wanted to go over. She was readily available to answer messages or phone calls with any questions or concerns I had along the way. During the birth, she was at my house for 16 hours straight. She brought her rebozo, helped me with horrible back labor, constantly checked in with my Husband, and never made me feel uncomfortable or rushed throughout the process. She also processed my placenta and brought over the capsules and a print the next day so I could get started on them right away. She is an amazing person and doula and I would highly reccomend her to anybody whether it be a first time Mom or not!

I hadn’t used a doula with my 1st pregnancy, but circumstances were different the 2nd time around, (we were birthing at home, & had an older child) & I felt that a doula was imperative. I wondered if knowing her as a friend would impact our professional relationship & if I would be comfortable laboring in her presence. When I felt my heart sink after hearing she was booking up past my due date, I knew I needed her as my doula. Raina & I met 6-8 times before my due date. We talked about my goals for this delivery, my prior miscarriage & my concerns about birthing again. She was fully supportive of my desire to have an unmedicated home birth. As I went past my due date, Raina kept me calm & focused on the positive. My water broke at 2:40am Christmas morning. I underestimated how quickly my labor was progressing, but Raina could hear on the phone that I was having contractions & was ready to go when my husband called her back 20 minutes later. Seeing Raina come through the door was such sweet relief. Now I felt safe! Now I knew I wasn’t going to birth alone! She reminded me to breath, helped me blow out the tension in my body, reminded me of my power & my strength. I remember as I was leaning into her arms & feeling these incredibly powerful, uncomfortable contractions, I was with a mother I’d never known. Raina was awesome after the birth as well. She kept in touch with me for the next couple of weeks checking on my physical recovery & mental health. She really instilled in me the mindset that I needed to rest during my first week postpartum. I had thought that 3 days in bed would be plenty, but Raina insisted I plan for 7. The 7 days turned in to 14 & led to a mentality of resting even if I wasn’t sleeping. I credit this with helping my postpartum recovery go so smoothly. Raina is caring, knowledgeable, & generous with her time & resources. She will be worth every penny!

I would highly recommend Raina Johnson for your upcoming birth. Raina offers so much more than many Doulas. She meets with you frequently during your pregnancy, which allows her to really get to know you and by the time she is attending your birth, she knows your personality, preferences and needs. Raina is supportive, kind and caring. I honestly couldn't imagine my birth without her, she was my rock!

Raina was absolutely wonderful!! She visited us often during pregnancy, and we enjoyed getting to build a relationship with her before birth. She was great at encouraging me throighout the labor process, but ultimately supporting me to make the decisions best for me and my birth experience. I would recommend her to anyone! :)

I hired Raina for my third birth, but it was my first birth with professional support and a clear plan for a non-intervention, unmedicated birth. My husband was concerned that we couldn't afford a doula, but after two inductions, I knew what I needed and we worked out a plan to make it work. There were other options in the same price range, but I chose Raina because of the prenatal support she offered, her experienced approach to finding out what I wanted, and her commitment to my version of an emotionally healthy birthing experience, whatever that might be.

On the day of the birth, my early labor didn't go according to plan and I carried some anxiety and tension into the rest of my labor, but when Raina arrived for active labor, she changed the atmosphere in the room within minutes. I quickly shifted into a calm, peaceful laboring style with her assistance that carried me all the way through to an amazing delivery that exceeded my hopes.

Raina includes a postpartum visit in her doula care, and it was so valuable to talk through my feelings about the labor and delivery. Even with a mostly positive experience, I found that I needed some support for acknowledging and releasing the feelings of frustration that had colored my memories of that day.

I plan to have one more child, and have no question about hiring a doula again, and Raina will be my first choice.

Raina is amazing.  I wouldn't have wanted to go through my pregnancy and birth without her. Having her support and knowledge was priceless. She listens to what you want and is your voice during labor if you need her to be. I recommend her to everyone who is pregnant. She has become a great friend during our time together.

I am truly blessed to have Raina as my doula; she is one of those people who you fall in love with right away. We had an immediate connection when we met for the first time. She is extremely reliable and will make time to see all her clients. Her knowledge in pregnancy, labor, and postpartum are tremendously helpful. She will provide resources, books, and experience for all types of questions. She also is great with dealing with emotional support throughout the entire process. She knows just how to relax an anxious mama. Raina also performed rebozo during pregnancy, which turned baby into an optimal position and my unmedicated birthing experience was very pleasing with minimal pain. Raina knew what type of birth I wanted and she followed through exactly how we planned it. I wanted to go to the hospital as late as possible to have a natural birth and Raina’s intuition was spot on; when we arrived at St. Joseph’s Hospital, I was 10 cm dilated and all I had to do was push the baby out. She also had an excellent relationship with the hospital staff, which made the communication very smooth during the birthing process. Raina introduced me to resources that helped me be calm and focused during my delivery. She provided so much love and support throughout the entire process – I didn’t need any medicine, she was my epidural. My postpartum experience was just as delightful; Raina helped with pain management, breastfeeding, and questions about newborn. She also made a placenta tincture that not only gave me a lot of energy, but helped me recover quickly. Raina has not only become our go-to person for questions about our baby, but now we see her as a friend, an aunt for our newborn and a doula for our future babies to come!

Raina was absolutely amazing. She was and still is informative and very supportive! She helped to ease my fears and helped me keep looking forward. She provided prenatal information, books, a rebozo and showed my husband ways he could help me with physical comfortable and to help get our baby into a good position for labor. During my labor she provided us with so much support emotional and physical. She brought snacks to give me energy, oils for nausea, rebozo for comfort and her knowledge, skills and experience. Assuming her schedule is open, she is already hired for my next pregnancy!

Raina was amazing as our birth doula; I cannot say enough about how great she was! She worked with my husband and me to learn what we needed from her from our first meeting and was the greatest source of support through the months and weeks leading up to the big day as well as on the day itself. Raina empowered us to ask questions and feel like we had options going into our VBAC. When I went into labor 5 weeks early due to placenta previa, she was there. She came with me for support while I got checked out that morning. I spent the day at the hospital on bed rest and later that day when it was obvious I was having a baby, she came right back and helped my husband help me managr the pain during contractions and then through transition she was awesome by helping me focus and push through the pain. I am so thankful for her knowledge and expertise about birth but even more I'm so thankful for her support and guidance through one of the biggest and best days of my life!
