I had a wonderful experience with Anné! We moved into town well into my pregnancy and even before we moved I had a phone conversation with Anne where I discussed with her my birth plan and she helped me choose a hospital and provider that would best suited to my wishes! This was such a relief as I really had no idea where I could achieve a true unmedicated birth and be allowed to go until I went into labor on my own. She met with us several times once we moved and answered all my texts and calls and when I had questions. I went into labor pretty quickly and Anne was by my side at my home within the hour! My total labor was about 7.5 hours and she along with my husband supported me beautifully throughout the whole experience. She’s clearly called to do this. Her presence alone was so calming and relaxing. I felt truly supported with Anne and my husband by my side. I had an amazing birth experience and I feel so blessed to have found her!
Anne is amazing! My labor was 37 hours long and Anne was with us for the last 26 hours of it, and then she stayed for a while after the delivery to spoon feed me while I held my new baby. She was incredibly patient and caring. She even stopped by the hospital the next day to see how we were doing which was in addition to her regular post- delivery visit. She truly cares about her clients. It was such a blessing to gaffer her beside me every moment breathing with me through every single contraction and allowing my husband to get some sleep through our long labor. I want her by my side for all my labors. I read that doula means woman's servant, and Anne definitely has the heart to.serve.
I write this while I watch our three-week-old son as he naps. I struggle to find the words to describe the depths of the gratitude I feel for what Anne did for us on the day he was born. Anne was such a gift and blessing; looking back, it was her energy, presence, wisdom, and generous spirit that transformed our son’s birth into such a positive and life-affirming experience.
On a day we would have, of course, always remembered, it was Anne who made our memories of the day entirely positive from start to finish. Even in a busy hospital room full of machines and equipment, she helped us remain calm and peaceful and mindful for my son’s unmedicated birth. Anne’s positive affirmations during every contraction and her skilled massage and pressure techniques made labor entirely manageable, and, importantly, her strong presence made our labor room feel safe. This also helped keep the pain at bay because it wasn’t able to be fueled by fear.
She is a consummate professional, as well, and supported us throughout my third trimester from visiting our home to sending relevant evidence-based articles after I received my strep B diagnosis to her supportive messages and encouragement when I worried about induction. Her guidance let me head into the last weeks of pregnancy with confidence.
I would strongly encourage you to meet Anne and see for yourself what an amazing addition she would make to your birth team.
She was so wonderful! I know I wouldn't have got the birthing experience that I wanted without her. I had mostly back labor and after many many hours she still got in there and put pressure on my back to help with the pain, I don't know how she was able to do it. The thing I loved most about her is the love she showed for me and especially for my children once they arrived. She is so loving, warm and understanding.
This was my second pregnancy. I didn't know immediately that I wanted a different approach to the birth until I was about 5 months along. After spending time reflecting back over the birth of my son (1st child), I couldn't shake a gut feeling that his birth could have been different (maybe better). I felt I lacked a connection with his birth that ultimately led to postpartum depression issues. It was for those reasons, and many more, that I started exploring the idea of using a doula.
I am so grateful that I chose Anne as my doula. At our first meeting I immediately felt comfotable with her. I felt she understood my past regrets and challenges with my first birth and my wishes for my upcoming birth. I needed to feel that I could be completely open, honest, and vulnerable with my doula and that is exactly what I felt with Anne. I sensed that she understood me on a spiritual level that went beyond empathizing with me.
My birthing time still brings me to tears of joy when I think about it. Anne intuitively knew how to meet my emotional and physical needs. I felt free to be in the moment. I felt secure and safe with her there. Her presences was a constant reminder that my birth wishes were coming true.
I had a wonderful natural, unmedicated birth with the help of Anne. I was so blessed to have her along side me (and my husband) during our special time. She has become a part of our family. I will forever cherish the way she loved me through my pregnancy and birth.
I highly reccommend Anne to anyone who is considering using a doula. She is experienced and a pure loving spirit to have around during such a wonderfully vulnerable time.
