Tracy was an invaluable support for my husband and I during our entire prenatal, birthing, and postnatal experience.

This was our second child, and after a relatively traumatic first birth experience, I wanted to look into a doula; my husband was skeptical, but after just one meeting with Tracy, he was not only entirely convinced about our need for a doula, but excited to choose Tracy to work with.

Throughout my pregnancy, Tracy was a calm, centering force offering information (for tonnes of our questions), gentle encouragement, and Reiki sessions for both my husband and I. We met with Tracy several times in advance of our birthing time and she gave us many strategies and exercises to cope with some symptoms I was experiencing and help prepare us for our birth. She has an amazing wealth of knowledge and contacts and was able to recommend an incredible acupuncturist, who also helped so much. She was easily available through text, phone call, or email. We felt incredibly supported and prepared going into our birth night.

Unfortunately, our birthing night was a busy one and Tracy was attending another birth. She arranged a back-up doula to meet us at the hospital, who was absolutely amazing (yet another testament to Tracy). This birth experience was entirely different than our first and I credit so much of that positive change to having the doulas that we did.

She visited us in our home a few days post-birth and when our son was hospitalized in the NICU 5 days after birth, she was so supportive throughout that process as well.

Thanks to Tracy's compassion and grace; we felt supported, cared for, and respected through the entire vulnerable process of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I would happily recommend her to anyone!

Tracy Bradley - Steady hands she is aptly named. When I was looking for a doula, I was searching for someone special, someone spritual, someone who could counter balance my intense, over functioning stress response. Tracy was absolutely the best possible choice. She is calm. Her voice is soft but clear and strong. She helped me work towards the birth I wanted. We discussed all the possible options, she did a visit to my home (I wanted a home water birth) and she walked me and my birth partners through what we hoped would happen. Tracy also taught me about Hypnobabies - a hypnosis option for pain relief during my birthing time. It was a long and involved course with a lot of studying however it worked very well for me during my pressure waves and birthing time. After my son was born Tracy provided excellent post pardum support. She calmly managed my stressed family and helped me feel at ease. Her children walked my dog. She did dishes, tidied my kitchen, loaded laundry and walked my son while I had a shower and a few minutes alone. I am grateful every day that my path led me to Tracy of the Steady Hands.

I couldn't have asked for a better doula. Tracy was there every step of the way and gave me the boosts I needed when I felt like giving up. Her spirit and personality are so beautiful and calm. I would have liked to use the Reiki but didn't have time due to just moving into our new home etc. I am very satisfied with the service she provided nonetheless and the thoughtfulness she possesses. I will gladly be contacting Tracy for our next child ... hopefully she will have space for us! ?

Tracy was referred to me with high accolade by a friend who engaged her as a birth doula.  I contacted Tracy to arrange a meeting to discuss post-partum support and this was the best decision I could have made.  As a first-time Mum to twin girls, it has been a steep learning curve and Tracy has been there to offer her support, knowledge and, when requested, gentle guidance.  Not only has she supported me in providing direct care for the girls, but also in the domestic tasks of daily living and, at times, with emotional support.  Tracy understands the complexities of first-time motherhood and her calm demeanor and loving care for both my girls, as well as myself, are just what we needed.

I highly recommend Tracy to anyone seeking doula services.

My wife and I did a lot of research on what doulas offer and what role they play in the entire process from pregnancy, birth and post birth. It was important for us to find one that was knowledgable and experienced. Upon further recommendation, Tracy Bradley was suggested to us. After meeting with her we knew right away that Tracy was who we wanted as our doula. Her calm demeanour was comforting as this was our first child. Tracy also had a wealth of resources pertaining to pretty much everything about pregnancy, including what to expect at different stages and how to be as comfortable as possible throughout pregnancy.

Most importantly, her presence during the birthing time was where we needed her the most. That extra help was much appreciated. But it's not just the extra hands, it's how she was helping that was key. Her ability to put my wife in certain positions to ease some of the discomfort from the contraction waves was what helped the most. In addition to that, she brought her voice and support and that helped get us a better understanding of what decisions we needed to to make thoughtout active labour.

As a new Dad I found that Tracy was a big help to me too. Her ability to articulate what to expect for us guys was helpful. Being in the know helped me be a better help to my wife throughout this journey and we can't thank Tracy enough!!!

We definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a doula to be part of their journey.

I am so thankful to Tracy for everything she did for me during my labour and birth. I am convinced if it wasnt for her expertise and gentle touch I would not have been succesful in my VBAC.I was overdue with my baby by 9 days this time, and tracy gave us some acupressure points to work on as well as taught us how to do a hip release. My labour was very long at around 45 hours! Tracy stayed with us almost the entire time, other than to take a couple short breaks. She is absoloutely amazing. She worked with me hour after hour to help my baby move down and engage, and get into an optimal position. She brought out every trick she had and spent hours walking and swaying with me through contractions. She allowed my husband to sleep so he would be able to support me when the time came to push. I had planned to have a home waterbirth VBAC but After a very long labour time at home we transferred to the hospital for an epidural. Tracy was always right by my side, giving me advice and helping me feel empowered to make my own decisions. I was nervous about a hospital transfer as my first try at a home birth ended in a transfer with a csection. My first birth was a very tramatic experience and I was scared of returning to the hospital. With the guidance of my midwife and Tracy we made the transfer so I could get some much needed rest. My midwife had to leave as she was supposed to catch a flight. Tracy stayed with us through it all. I honestly felt so much love and compassion from her and she kept me relaxed and calm through it all. She stayed by my side, feeding me ice chips and talking to me in a soothing voice while I went in and out of sleep. She used acupressure for my nasuea so I could avoid using gravol and took photos of the birth for me.I feel tracy goes above and beyond as a doula;even helping to clean up the birth area and take down the pool while I was still in the hospital.I highly reccoment her services and I hope she can be with me again for my next birth!

We were somewhat skeptical about finding a doula that would meet our expectations but, Tracy turnout to be like a guardian angle. We won't have another child without a doula and, hopefully, that will be Tracy. Even though our birthing time did not conform to our wishes and became a relatively invasive hospital birth, Tracy remained a valuable asset. We will forever cherish our time with her. I have never felt so supported in any endeavour. Thank you Tracy!

Tracy works hard for her clients, and couldn't be better suited to her profession. She was my rock during some very scary times, and an invaluable source of knowledge and assistance. I couldn't be happier with my choice to secure Tracy as my doula to help me welcome my daughter into the world.

Tracy is absolutely AMAZING. Beneath her rather unassuming demeanour is a highly skilled and highly experienced doula abounding with various techniques on how to calm a birthing woman. Throughout my pregnancy, she has always been available to answer my questions and provided us with valuable information, and even got us thinking about the various things that we have not even considered. She is always respectful and non judgemental. During the birth, her patience was natural and her presence was very reassuring-- especially in a hospital where various staff would wander in and out. She was with me the entire time and she was very intuitive, and eased my discomfort through empathetic support, massages, encouraging words and a variety of other techniques. My husband also found her incredibly supportive.

Words cannot describe the gratitude I felt for her presence during my son's birth. If we were to have more children, she would 100% be our doula again.

I have had many good references and I value them very highly. They all affect me very deeply both personally and professionally, and I am grateful for each one. When something is stated publicly like this is the only time I would venture to clarify my actions as they contradict the client's perception. My client received over 94 email correspondences throughout her pregnancy with evidence based articles, and lists of vaginal breech supportive doctors. I provided her birth plan for her, with copies for her caregivers, weeks prior to her birthing time. I brought copies for the staff to review, and ensured it was part of her chart and that the nurses were familiar with it, and her use of hypnosis. Both partners were well informed that in the event of an emergency as deemed by the health care provider, I would be unable to enforce her birth plan, but the birth partner should step in and do so. Both in prenatal and in classes, the clients were taught how to make informed decisions, and the birth partner given a wallet-sized series of questions to ask. In this scenario, I don't believe there was a chance given to do so. My back was to the warmer where the NICU team was gathering, and I was focused on the client's hypnosis cues to encourage her stage of birthing. The mentors to whom are referred are my doula partners, and one is the person with whom she took her childbirth education class with. In a dialogue with them, and in review of her letters to me it is clear that what was asked of me was very much out of my scope as a doula. I cannot interfere when a baby needs to be examined by a skilled medical team. (Continued below)

When we had our two postpartum visits, no displeasure in my services was expressed, but rather joy and camaraderie. I provided her with skilled birth support for over 20 hours, keeping constant the use of many comfort measures and hypnosis scripts, as well as more than 6 hours of postpartum and prenatal care excluding email, text and phone conversations. I also joined her for an appointment when the doctor was to assess and possibly perform an external version. I would disagree that she and her husband tried to involve me in their healing since as both have refused to see me despite several attempts at meeting, and referrals to birth trauma professionals. Writing a note like this is difficult but necessary. My skills as a doula are my life, passion and livelihood. I believe my ongoing work and testimonials significantly reflect the quality of my work. My work with this client was something I was invested in, very meaningfully. I have maintained in each communication that her birthing was one of the most powerful experiences that I have had the privilege to support a woman through, and that her strength and personal power are an inspiration. I am deeply saddened that she feels this way. Yours in gentle birth, Tracy Bradley. (Posted as a rebuttal to the testimonial from 12/21/15)

Tracy was inexperienced and lacked communication skills, but still charged the same price as an experienced doula. She offered physical support during labour, but her emotional support, knowledge and advocacy skills were lacking. After we found out our baby was breech, Tracy sent information that was readily available on Google, and didn't offer anything substantial. She didn't give me a final version of my birth plan after I made changes, and did not confirm that she made them until the postpartum visit. I wasn’t even sure if she had brought an updated copy to the hospital, as she didn’t make my birth plan known.
During my birthing time, there was no communication between Tracy and the doctor or nurse regarding our birth plans for delivery and care, leaving us completely unaware that breech babies are considered emergency deliveries, requiring NICU to be present. This altered our plans substantially, without our knowledge or consent. Had she acted as an advocate and reminded my husband to talk about our plans, and communicated with the staff about any changes in their regular procedures, we feel that the birth of our daughter could have gone the way we had planned.
After, Tracy made some negative comments about my birth experience that upset me. When I tried to open up discussion on how things could have been handled differently, Tracy blamed doctors and nurses, but failed to see how she could be accountable for any part of the situation.
Tracy said she had talked with her mentors, whom we had never met, and they agreed that she had fully supported us, even though we felt that she hadn’t.
I felt no emotional support from Tracy. My husband and I worked on healing together, and tried to involve Tracy, but she didn’t care to be part of our healing. Her services were far from outstanding, and after meeting a handful of other doulas during my pregnancy, it is easy to see that there are better doulas for hire.

The birthing time is a unique and intense experience.  Tracy spent hours with us working through all our questions and helping to teach us what to expect and what some options were to cope with labour.

Tracy provided incredible support during the birthing time. She supported us in making decisions about care that strayed from our birth plan and were necessary to consider in the moment. Her intuition is exceptional. She knew when we needed space to be together just the two of us. She knew when there needed to be a change in positions (and there was a point when there was about five or six different positions in 45 minutes). She knew when aromotherapy, counterpressure and water would be helpful.

Tracy gave me the space to figure out what I needed and was incredibly present throughout the entire 25 hours. She must have applied counterpressure for about eight hours every couple of minutes. She was calm, considerate, kind, empathetic and non judgmental. Tracy worked really well with the team at the hospital. She also ensured that my daughter and I had a solid first breastfeeding experience immediately after delivery.

The feeling of empowerment is a gift that can come with being pregnant and delivering a baby. Tracy helped shepherd a birthing time that did not follow the plan and could have left me feeling lost. Instead I feel like I had the full experience of the birthing time and feel grateful for the opportunity.

She has continued to support us post partum and, as prior to the birthing time, visited us and answered questions and gave us thoughtful items like teas and bath salts.

It has been a great experience to work with Tracy and I know the Grow Centre will continue to offer support as our daughter grows with possible play groups!

We would HIGHLY recommend Tracy. She's a great person and an amazing doula.

From the moment I met Tracy, I knew that she was the perfect match for me. I felt such an immediate connection to her and immediately knew that I wanted to hire her as my doula for the birth of my rainbow baby. Tracy was so supportive during my pregnancy. I had fears related to complications that I was having. She was always there to support me, send me info to read and calm my fears and worries. She was so soft spoken and kind, and always had such a relaxing effect on me. As I got closer to my due date, she would check up frequently. I was having on and off contractions for a few days and she would call to check up on me. She helped me do pregnancy belly casting. When I went over my due date, and was being faced with possible induction, she was a great sounding board to help me weigh my options. She was very knowledgable and sent me tons of info, and also referred me to a lady who did induction acupuncture. I went into labour that night! I texted her and she was able to offer suggestions on relaxing, and offered to come over. I didn't feel I needed her at that moment, but when I felt I did, she came right away. I stayed at home to labour for a while with Tracy by my side. She helped me enormously, rubbing my back and applying counter pressure to help the back labour I was having. When we got to the hospital, we were faced with a complication which needed many medical interventions. We were faced with having to abandon parts of my unmedicated natural birth plan, it was a difficult decision but Tracy was incredibly supportive and non-judgemental. My labour was incredibly hard, Tracy helped so much by speaking softly, giving me sips of liquids, rubbing my back and guiding my breathing. She was by my side for a total of about 25 hours and even though she must have been exhausted, she never stopped supporting me and my husband! I can't imagine my birthing experience without her in it! I would highly recommend Tracy! I can't say enough good things about her!

  • I found Tracy on FB. About 10min into meeting her I knew we would be retaining her services. I immediately felt a conection with her, as if we were long lost friends. Tracy recommended a great prenatal class (Hypnobabies) that was in sync with my all natural birth plan. Tracy was always available for any questions I had, which were many, this was our 1st child. I met with her for a prenatal apointment and a much needed Reiki treatment. It was so relaxing, just what I needed, I was going through some stressful events, getting married and moving. I spent my pre birthing time at home, 22h out of the 30h that I was in labor. Tracy was in contact with me the whole time. She even offered to be at home with us. I opted to have it be just myself and my husband. Tracy met us at the hospital for 8 more hours of a very difficult transition period. My son took 30h total to come into this world. All of it all natural, our birth plan was emplimented to the tee. Thanks to my awesome birth team, Tracy, my hubby and a great OB. Tracy stayed at the hospital as long as we needed. We never got the felling she was rushing or neede to be somewhere else. Tracy came by a couple days after for our postnatal visit. She has such a calming effect on me. I was having issues with my milk production and she brought an awesome nursing tea. She also recommended a great lactation consultant. Words can't convey what Tracy has done for my family. I would definetly recommend Tracy to anyone. I know that I want her at the bith of my 2nd child as well.

Tracy was the only doula we met with, as we decided nearly right off the bat that she was what we were looking for.  She was kind and soft spoken, and was also a hypno-doula (I was taking a Hypnobabies course at the time, as i was hoping to have a natural, drug-free birth).

We had a few meetings in the early days, which were quite quiet as my pregnancy was complication free.  As my due date neared, however, I was in regular touch with Tracy, and found her support immensly helpful.  When I came across obstacles like being diagnosed with Strep B, having crippling hemeroids (ugh.. lol) and going past my due date and feeling pressured to have an induction, Tracy was great at sending me information on all of these subjects, as well as making sure that I knew I had options/help/support with all of these things.  The day before my scheduled induction, Tracy came over and performed reiki on me, and offered other suggestions on ways to naturally induce labour.  I followed her advice, and went into labour that night, thereby avoiding a pitocin induction.  Nothing could have pleased me more. I was blessed to have a very quick birthing time (3hrs start to finish!) and am so glad that Tracy was in the delivery room with me and my partner.  Two days after the birth of my son, she came to my home and we had our post-natal visit.  It was nice having her come at that point, as i was feeling tired and a little shocked at having a little person in my once quiet life, and seeing a familiar and supportive face gave me a confidence boost.  She also got me sorted out with a ring sling as i was super keen to start baby wearing.  I would recommend Tracy highly.  We were very happy with our decision :)

We had such a great experience in working with Tracy, she is knowledgeable and non - judgemental and very supportive. She provided high quality of service and her loving presence was exactly what we needed during the birth of our daughter. She took care of things that i couldnt think of.. eg, bringing in chapstick and extra pillows.  If we have another child we would go with Tracy again without any doubt. Postpartum support she provided has been amazing as well, she encapsulated placenta for us as well. Her Reiki treatments have been wonderful as well.

We are very happy with our decision to have Tracy at the birth of our son. She provided the support that both my boyfriend and I needed through pregnancy and labour. I was able to ask questions while pregnant anytime I needed, and she was always there with an answer. Our son was born 10 days past due date, and during those days she provided emotional support and kept letting me knew how great I was doing and to be confident that baby would come when he was ready. During labour, Tracy was there with us the entire time. She worked hard, staying by My side even though it was the middle of the night and I knew she must have been exhausted. She provided physical comfort by rubbing my feet, applying pressure to my back when needed, And giving me sips of water and juice. Her calming words helped to relax me. I can't thank Tracy enough for the help she provided us. An amazing doula and person.

Tracy was the perfect doula for us - if we ever find ourselves looking for a doula again we know who will be our first choice!  I wish we had been able to utilize her fantastic services more fully, but our daughter had other ideas and ended up needing to be delivered via C-section.  Regardless, Tracy was a wonderful, neutral and supportive sounding board while we made the difficult decision to abandon our much hoped for natural birth and choose a C-section for the sake of our daughter's health.  She offered me a phenomenal massage while we were coming to terms with the fact that a C-section was a distinct possibility and I was even able to enjoy some truly restful sleep as a result.  She supported my husband and daughter in the interim between her birth and my being released from surgery; helped with my initial clumsy breastfeeding attempts; and, took pictures for us of our early moments with our daughter.  Also, Tracy made the not so short trek out to our home both before the birth and after to meet with us and offer guidance.

We cannot reccomend Tracy more highly!

Tracy was amazing and so helpful during my labor. With her support I was able to achieve the unmedicated natural birth I was looking for. She was right next to me when the urge to push was taking over my body and would help me gain back my control and guided me through my breathing. Her calming energy was exactly what I needed. Without her I wouldnt have had the proper support. Her knowledge and training allowed her to instinctively know how and when to help me or when to let me labor on my own. I would recommend her to any expecting mama, she is truly amazing.
