As first time parents, Lisa and her team helped us tremendously. Lisa not only taught us the basics of newborn care, but also helped me with my postpartum recovery, breastfeeding adventures, and getting my house ready for the little one. She was too good - we didn't even need all the services we booked with her!
I had to go back to work at 6 weeks and I don' think I could have functioned without her night doulas (Ashley and Amanda). They always worked with us to find the best possible nights sleep for us and our baby. We went through many different feeding protocols in those 8 weeks to find what works! In addition, they were so caring and loving towards the baby I never had any hesitation passing her over when it was time for some rest.
Lisa was invaluable in helping my husband and I when we brought our newborn son home. We both do not have family in the area and needed the knowledge and support that Lisa provided. Lisa was wonderful and helped my confidence as a new mom. Our son fell in love with Lisa as well! I am so glad that we chose to have Lisa be our post partum doula!
Lisa helped us for six weeks when our third child was born. Although I was not a first time mom, it had been 4 years since my second child was born and Lisa was an invaluable resource for me in all things related to baby. Lisa was so calm and natural with our daughter, she made me immediately feel at ease. When Lisa was with us, I was able to truly relax and get some real rest as I felt so confident that our baby was in good hands. She was also a pleasure to have around. My husband and I were sad when our six weeks were done, not only because she had been so helpful, but also because we were going to miss talking with her!
I wish I had Lisa with me when my second son was born. He was a colicky baby, and I was recovering from a challenging birth. Lisa’s warm and nurturing personality would have been just what I needed to support me through that highly sensitive post-partum experience.
I would highly recommend Lisa to all new moms.
I am so grateful I had the chance to work with Lisa in the 8 weeks after the birth of my son. Not only did I learn so much from her as a new mom, but she offered me the exact kind of emotional support that I needed to help build confidence in myself as a mother and work through post-partum depression. She helped me at such a critical moment in my life (birth of my first child!) with just the right blend of advice, support, care and help on the little things that all together made a very big difference.
Lisa was an amazing help in transitioning to a new mom of twins. I was able to use her expertise on subjects such as pumping, bottle feeding, sleeping, growth milestones, baby wearing, swaddling, bathing, etc. to avoid tedious internet searches or excessive calls to the pediatrician. She was so helpful on a variety of topics and made me feel more confident in my abilities as a new mom. If she didn't have an immediate answer (which was rare) she was more than happy to do the research or reach out to a colleague. Lisa did not push any of her "views' on me. She allowed me to parent how I saw fit & offered advice based on my choices. She would offer her opinion when asked, but was very respectful of my ultimate decisions.
Lisa's help also allowed me the time to get the rest I so desparately needed in the beginning. It also allowed me time to pump, shower and complete other tasks that are difficult to get done with two newborns demanding your attention. Beyond that, I know my babies loved Lisa because once they were able to smile, they would smile when she would come in. As they grew and required more attention and play, Lisa was wonderful about getting down in the floor with them while doing tummy time or just on the playmat. She also spent one on one time talking to each of them which was very important to me that they have that attention.
Beyond baby related help, Lisa also helped with some light chores (sweeping, cleaning bottles, doing dishes, laundry, etc) and errands which was extremely helpful as a new mom.
We are sad to have Lisa leave, but would highy recommend her to anyone looking for postpartum help as she will make the transition much easier. It is well worth the investment to have someone like Lisa around for you and your baby/babies.
