Ashley was amazing! She met with us several time before the birth, going over all sorts of details that I most likely never would have thought of on my own. She presented us with all our options without showing any judgment for our decisions, or pushing us in one direction or another. She gave us recommendations for outside resources/classes based on our desires regarding the birth experience. I ended up being induced, which is usually a pretty routine process that takes several hours. My baby, however, decided that he was ready to be born much earlier than expected, so Ashley missed the actual delivery. It was definitely not her fault - the baby came so fast the DOCTOR almost missed it!! She made it to the hospital just after he was born and was able to help us process the fact that we were now parents, omg. She came to our house twice after delivery - once to do placenta encapsulation, and once for a postpartum checkup. Both times she was very professional and supportive.

Overall we had a great experience working with Ashley and will definitely be using her again if we have another baby.

Ashely came to my house and did the placenta encapsulation after my 2nd and 3rd baby. Both times she did a great job and had the capsules to me in a timely manner. The capsules really helped me have more energy to take care of my little ones. They also helped with my milk supply and aided my body in "bouncing back" faster. Ashely is very knowledgeable in what she's doing and I would recommend her to anyone.

Hiring Ashley from Music City Doulas was truly the best money we could have spent toward our birth experience. She worked with me from before I ever found out I was pregnant, being a supportive friend to me as we went through the process of IVF for our son. She answered all my questions, calmed my fears, provided centering yoga instruction, and helped us write a birth plan for the biggest event of our lives. She's so knowledgeable and so sweet. I always felt like I could talk to her or ask any question, no matter how silly it seemed.

During the birth, she not only helped me, but helped my husband know what to do. He agrees that she was the perfect helper that we *both* needed. She was calm, professional, friendly, and amazing in every way. She helped us have the birth we truly dreamed of, and allowed us the freedom and peace of mind to grow even closer as a family. Other than my husband, she is the only other person I wanted there during that moment, and I'm so glad she was.

She even went out of her way to come to our home (a 2-hour drive for her) for a prenatal visit, and postpartum visits where she encapsulated my placenta for me right in my own kitchen. She gave me tips to help with breastfeeding, and even if we had a question she could not answer along the way, she knew just who to refer us to.

Having a doula was an amazing experience, and so, so worth it for us. If we are able to have another baby in the future, Ashley will be the first person we call. Our doula was a friend, counselor, sister, teacher, and most of all a consummate birth professional.

Ashley is a fantastic doula! She's always a phone call / text away whenever we needed. She's an invaluable source of advice and information. Hiring Ashley was one of the best decisions we made.

Our experience with Ashley was exactly what we were hoping it would be.  She was calm, positive, and supportive at all times. Ashley was very knowledgable of all aspects of labor and delivery. She knew exactly when I needed to relax and how to help me relax my muscles. She shared a variety of strategies to use to releave pain, such as back pain prior to labor, and during contractions. She was available anytime we needed her to be via phone.  Ashley felt like someone who had been a long time friend. We highly recommend her. We couldn't have asked for someone more supportive.

Ashley is the perfect blend of compassionate care and professionalism. I felt extremely supported by her knowledge and experience with local providers and every type of birth. She was always available to answer any questions and help me prepare, but I also knew that she would support my decisions no matter what. She was so helpful supporting both me and my husband during labor to minimize stress and anxiety. I highly recommend her!

Bringing my first child into the world with Ashley's support was one of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy. As a first time mom, I had a lot of questions and was seeking a source that was highly knowledgable in all aspects of pregnancy and birth. Ashley could not only offer me support in terms of understanding my process and options, but was also there to offer mental and emotional support the whole time. Ashley's calm demeanor and the way she approaches the birth process with such ease and femininity was exactly what I needed to feel supported and confident going into my labor and delivery. The tools and techniques I learned from our pre-birth sessions were super valuable in the delivery room and also allowed my partner and I to cultivate a practice and system that worked for us and allowed for an even deeper understanding and emotional bond. The labor/delivery of my son was ideal. The birth vision that I created with Ashley's love and guidance was manifested that day and I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience.

Ashely is an amazing doula! She has this calming personality that I knew would help both myself and my husband during our hospital birth. My husband was not comfortable doing a home birth and I wasn't comfortable birthing at a hospital without the support of a doula. Thankfully I was able to labor at home with Ashley's help, then transferred to the hospital. Once checked in, I was 7cm and only labored there for 5 hours. Ashely kept great notes, and made sure the nursing staff understood I was in charge and they needed to respect my decisions for an all natural birth. It was very empowering knowing that I controlled what was done to my body and Ashley was there to make sure as long as we were doing great, I got the birth I wanted.

Even as I was deep in labor, Ashley was the voice that kept me focused, calm and prepared to meet my little girl. I had really intense back labor and Ashley gave counter pressure and massaged my hips to try and keep me comfortable through each contraction. She reminded me to relax my body and let my body do what it knew how to do. Ashley supported my husband and kept him calm, when he felt like everything was out of control. She also helped him help me.

Even after I gave birth, she stayed to help get my little girl breast feeding, then helped me shower and then transfer to the postpartum room.

I could not have asked for a better doula experience. If we ever decide to have a second baby, I will hire Ashley to be there with me.

Hiring Ashley was a great decision. I had an induction and checked into the hospital only to discover the baby was breeched. Our doctor had been wrong about her position. After the nurse called our doctor, we were told to stay the night and be scheduled for a c-section the next day. I wasn’t in active labor and only 3 days past due date. We wanted to know what other options we had for our baby to turn, but our doctor did not communicate any of this information and only through the nurse to us. Ashley gave us info on natural ways to turn a baby as well as External Version information and its risks. Ashley was a rock and sounding board during this time and helped my husband and I take back control for our daughter and delivery, and armed us with knowledge for us to decide to call the doctor to postpone the c-section or wait until I was in active labor. Ashley visited us and helped us with at home positioning techniques, chiropractors, massage therapists, and contact info for External Version docs. We now knew we did everything we could for our daughter to have the healthiest delivery possible and didn’t feel forced into one course of action. I went into active labor quickly soon after. We had to go to the hospital as soon as I had signs of labor from her being breeched. My husband called Ashley and she was able to give us some techniques to slow the labor down. It worked and by the time we got in the car and were on the way to the hospital my contractions had slowed. They were able to get me into the operating room and have the c-section without it being too stressful of a situation. After surgery, I couldn't move from the spinal, felt like I couldn’t breathe and was vomiting uncontrollably from an unknown allergic reaction to a drug. It was extremely terrifying and Ashley held my hand and soothed me throughout it. Ashley is also our post partum doula and has been a great help, especially since I am still healing from my c-section.

Working with Ashley made all of the difference in my last trimester and labor. She was so helpful in so many ways - practical relaxation techniques, emotional support, and peace of mind about first time mom jitters. I loved attending her yoga classes, too, and swear that helped prepare me for labor like nothing else could. Having Ashley present during both labor and delivery was wonderful, too. She helped guide my husband in the best ways to comfort me in a hands on and emotional way. She also stepped in herself to help, which was great! Every piece of advice she gave was helpful and I can't say enough how thankful I was for her help. She has been available to us day and night, which was a lifesaver on several occasions. I will most definitely hope to work with her again with my next baby!

It was absolutely fantastic to have Ashley as my birth doula! Ashely's calm confidence and friendly demeanor instantly drew me in. The knowledge and support she provided while expertly leading her prenatal yoga class was so valuable to condition my body and mind for labor. She is very passionate about helping women and is very in touch with knowing how to help a mama cope with her pregnancy both physically, through proper prenatal yoga techniques, and emotionally, through her empathetic nature. I was positive that she was the one I wanted to have by my side (in addition to my husband) during labor. I would be her first doula client, as she was just going through doula training when we met, but I had every confidence in her abilities, and Ashely went above and beyond to help me in any way she could.

I am so grateful to have found Ashley. She attended my prenatal appointments with me and helped me understand what my options were. My husband works off-shore and is gone for a month at a time for work, so Ashley was always available to help me understand what my body was going through and support me. When I started having contractions, they lasted for a few days before labor really got going, and Ashley was right there with me in constant contact and availability. It was so comforting to have her there. Her guidance, knowledge, support, and calmness were key.

She proved herself to be an important asset to not only me, but to my husband as well. My husband managed to make it home just in time for me to go into labor, and since this was his first child also, he had never been a part of the birth experience before. Ashley focuses on helping both parents, so when things got intense, my husband says that Ashely gave him encouragement, kept him calm, ensured him, and made sure that he was an active part of my support team.

I highly recommend Ashley as a birth doula, and thank her with all my heart for her support and friendship!
