I couldnt possibly imagine anyone else being my doula but Allison. From the moment we met, we instantly clicked. She has this way about her.. a calm, comfortable, homey vibe that is perfectly mixed with a bright spirit and down to earth humor. Even my husband, who is very shy and reserved, felt remarkably comfortable around her and enjoyed her company. Allison has a natural ability to perfectly assess the mood during labor: if I was feeling peppy she was ready to joke and chat; if I was having a particularly tough time with a contraction, she never hesitated to put her strong hands and massage therapy skills to use to help ease the pain; if I needed to focus, she would be right by my side and speak in soothing tones exactly what i needed to hear. Allison was honestly the best part of my birth besides actually getting to meet my baby. If another birth awaits our future, I don't even have to think twice about who my doula will be, Allison is the perfect choice.
From the time we met Allison she was so professional, educated, open, warming, honest & welcoming. Even though I wasn't on top of our prenatal visits, she always made sure to get me to our appointments, which I really needed. Everything was very easy going & any worries or questions I had were quickly addressed. For me personally, I see Allison as the prime definition of the word doula. She was always there to serve when I needed her, whether is was with my prenatal care, my crazy pregnancy emotions, helping me find the right vitamins, ect. Anything I needed Allison was there. During labor she was the one that was there guiding me & helping me get to the next step. She was also the one that was talking me through all of my worries about my son not being an only child anymore & my worries that I would reget my new baby if she was a girl (which she was/is) without laughing at me or saying I was insane. She knew exactly how to help the pressure, how to help me through the contractions, what to do to kick my labor into extremely high gear & just overall, how to be there for me, as a doula! When I wasn't able to communicate Allison was able to step in & do that for me, with no problem. She was exactly what I needed at my first home birth & what I wouldn't go without at my furture home births. I think my husband would have been lost had we not had Allison at our first home birth & that is something he'll forever be grateful, as will I. If there was ever only one doula you should interview to serve you during your pregnancy, labor, deliver & postpartum, I'm telling you, Allison is THE ONE! I'll never forget the role she played in the birth of my daughter & there will never be a time I tell my birth story & she's not mentioned. Thank you, Allison, for being so awesome! I look forward to you being at our next birth!
Allison Jones is such a wonderful person and I am so glad I had her support as my doula for my VBAC! I was terrified about all the "what ifs" and Allison was always there to answer all my questions calmly and help me feel more comfortable about what I was concerned over. I love my husband dearly, but Allison was able to offer me a different type of support that only a woman who has been through the same thing before could offer. Having Allison as my doula gave me a sort of confidence because I knew having her in the delivery room with me would give me a better chance of getting the VBAC that I desperately wanted (and got!) my VBAC was one of the best experiences of my life and I'm 100% happy with my choice to use Allison as my doula! Now that I am nursing my infant, I still ask her questions regarding breastfeeding and other issues and she's great about getting me any information I need. You won't regret having Allison as your doula!
I don't even know where to begin. I began reading about what a doula was a little later into my pregnancy but am glad I did and even happier to have found Allison. From the first meeting all the way until my postpartum visit, Allison brought a sense of calmness. This was my first pregnancy and I like most new mothers had tons of questions and Allison was able to answer each and every single one of them. She put my nerves at ease when I was stressed and full of questions. I had a natural birth in a hospital setting. Allison was a huge advocate for me and someone I could look to when I was unsure of how to answer questions. I went into labor in the very early morning and Allison was there from the get go coaching and motivating me the entire time. She was truly Heaven sent and made my birthing experience amazing. I wouldn't have changed a thing and am so glad God brought Allison to my side.
Allison was my doula and it made my birth so much easier and faster. She helped me out all pregnancy with any questions that I had any concerns she was there for me 24/7. I love that she is so kind, and professional at the same time. The support that she provided for my husband and I was amazing I had an all natural birth (no medicine at all) and Allison was there giving me relaxation massage, putting pressure in my lower back, getting me in different positions to speed up my labor guiding us through the hole process and It really helped us a lot. Now my baby is a month old and she is still checking up on us making sure we have no problen breastfeeding or with postpartum depression. I really recommend her , she is amazing.
