Hiring a doula was by far THE greatest gift I have ever given myself. Having Megan as my doula only made the experience that much better. I could not have asked for someone more warm, caring, encouraging, or supportive. Megan said all the right things at exactly the right times. During labor, she seemed to know exactly what I needed when I needed it, whether it be hot pads on my back, pressure on just the right area, or an encouraging word. She has a vast awareness about the female anatomy and birthing procedures, and I felt very confident in her knowledge about my options before, during, and after labor. Megan also had a way of giving me a confidence in myself that I never knew I had. After speaking with Megan multiple times and spending time with her prior to labor, I knew that with her, my husband, and my midwife by my side, I was ready to rock my labor! I knew I was in control and I felt prepared for what I was about to endure. (Well, as prepared as one can be for such an event.) If I were to have another child, I would only do so with Megan by my side from start to finish! Through this experience we formed a bond that will last long after the birth of my baby. Megan will forever hold a very special place in my heart. I couldn't have labored as calmly and naturally as I did if not for her love and support.

My husband and I had just moved to Harrisonburg from Los Angeles, I was 8 months pregnant and knew I wanted a doula at our natural birth at Brookhaven birthcenter. Brookhaven had given me many names of Doulas in the area to contact but Megan was prompt in replying to my email. We soon met up and her charming personality quickly won me over. She was knowledgeable, fun, genuine and caring. During my labor she was by my side every minute for 15hrs of active labor where the first 5 hours she had to hold a pail and soothe me as I threw up that whole time. Yes, that was the beginning of my active labor and it just got harder after but she was Amazing. The only time she left my side was when I made her get something to eat and drink. She and my husband tag-teamed and she was wonderful with him. She knew how to help alleviate my back-labor, brought lovely essential oils and helped with my over-all comfort, breathing, and security. I highly reccomend Megan Dively!! She was wonderful!

Megan went above and beyond what we ever expected of a doula. Being first time parents, we didn't know what to expect, but she gave me the strength and confidence to birth my baby exactly how I wanted to. She was a constant throughout my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum period. All of our babies will be welcomed into the world with Megan.

Megan was amazing as my doula. She answered every question I had and was able to ease any of my concerns by providing evidence based answers, facts and information for me. She was so much help to me when I was feeling worried or anxious and was always able to make me feel calm and at peace in knowing that my body and my baby knew what they were suppose to do and that I would rock my vba2c. And I did! Having someone that had the same experience that I was wanting was so very helpful and inspiring. I may have driven her crazy with the constant questions I asked but she was never anything less than kind and willing to help me in any way possible. Megan is not only a wonderful doula, but just an all around great person. I hope to be able to use her services again in the future!

Megan is absolutely amazing! I met her the DAY I went into labor with our first child literally the day of!! And I was so comfortable with her that I knew right away that she was the perfect choice for my husband and I to have with us to help bring our little girl into the world. She is kind, compassionate, caring, soft spoken and very effective in keeping pain at the back of your mind and the beauty of the birth experience at the forefront of your thoughts which is absolutely necessary to be able to deliver unmedicated. We never could have done it without her! We were highly satisfied with her & our birth experience!
