Maritza worked with my husband Greg and me to support our son Luke with postpartum overnight
support while he was around 3mo to 6mo of age. We couldn’t have been more grateful for her care!
Maritza always communicated proactively regarding scheduling or questions, which was
tremendously helpful. She always arrived promptly in the evening and provided a smooth transition
with Luke in the morning. We were updated on how he slept, all diaper changes, meal times, how
much was eaten, and his overnight/morning moods. This set us up for success every morning
Maritza was with us.
Maritza is a warm, kind individual who is wonderfully loving to the children in her care. Having a
new person care for your child can be an unsettling experience at first, but we immediately felt
comfortable with Maritza. We would recommend her strongly and happily work with her again in
the future!

I am writing this letter to highly recommend Maritza Pedroza. Maritza was our postpartum doula for our daughter, Remi during her newborn months.

Maritza was an incredibly kind, helpful and supportive doula for all of us. Remi had reflux and regurgitation issues, so the newborn stage was particularly challenging for our family. Maritza always gave us great tips and was wonderful with Remi.

If you are looking for a trustworthy, reliable, knowledgeable, patient, and understanding doula, Maritza would be a great fit for your family!

Thank you Marizta! If it wasn’t for people like Maritza mom’s like me would have no support. Her energy and words of encouragement were just what I needed towards this last stretch of my labour. The words that have been replaying in my head since we met ‘You can do this!’  it was just what I needed to hear! I truly believe that I would not have gotten through my labour without Epidural if it weren’t for Maritza's help. She explained all delivery phases and hospital formalities in detail and helped me to create my birthplan.

Maritza kept in touch throughout my pregnancy to address any concerns I had, her responses were lightning fast. During my delivery, Maritza provided pain-relief techniques including breathing techniques and labouring positions. She also kept massaging my back during painful contractions.

Maritza kept in touch even after my delivery to check on me and baby and helped me with tips on breastfeeding , recovering hemorrhoids and milkdots and other post partum issues. 

Out of all the things my husband and I can recommend in terms of preparing to deliver baby is having Maritza by your side. Thank you Maritza for everything , you are truly an Angel !

The arrival of our first child brought with it the typical sleepless nights and sharp learning curve. After a particularly long night we began to look for someone who could help us get through the stressful time, and found Mrs. Pedroza.

As Maritza’s first night approached, we were filled with the typical anxiety and questions; would our baby be okay? Would he take to her? Would she be able to watch him overnight and come out the other side in better shape than we were? From the moment of her arrival, she handled everything with aplomb, all those worries dropped away.

Her overall warmhearted demeanor, calm and warm, sweet and funny, fit our family to a “t,” comforting everyone. Our son adored her, the magic lady who could calm him down and put him to sleep no matter how much difficulty he was having.There were some days we were just looking to survive until her arrival, on those nights, and every other one she’s walked in and taken over care of the most important thing in our lives with absolute kindness and love.

Her extensive knowledge has been a north star as we tried to pilot our way through what is both the most important time and the one we’re least prepared for. She was generous with her time and expertise, allowing a new mother to ask all sorts of questions, providing sympathetic, in depth, and caring answersthat assuaged further worries.

Over time she met not only members of the household, but also grandparents and friends, everyone raves about her and the comfort that she exudes.

I cried on her final night, but know that she’s set us up for success. We would be happy to speak with anyone about our experience, and cannot recommend her enough.

Maritza is a wonderful doula.  I used her for 2/3 of my birthday and had a great experience both times!  From the moment I met her, I felt comfortable and at ease.  I was also reassured and impressed by her extensive experience as a doula.  She is professional and personal, so caring and attentive, and yet still allows space for autonomy and privacy (not smothering!).  After our births, she maintained contact and checked on us.  She even offers postpartum services which is amazing!!  I highly recommend her.  You will not be disappointed and you'll feel so well taken care of.  Maritza will forever be a special part of our story and family.

Maritza is an amazing person and a perfect doula! I highly recommend her to anyone considering getting a little extra help with the birth of a child. She is professional, reliable, and a good communicator. She's extremely knowledgable about childbirth, newborns, and breast feeding. She's also very calm, easy going, nurturing, and supportive. I always felt completely comfortable asking her for help or information on anything that was troubling me.

Martiza helped my family after the birth of our first child. We hired her to help as a post-natal doula, particularly for the overnight assistance in the first few weeks after our daughter was born and while I was recovering. She helped me get started with pumping when breastfeeding wasn't going well and her support was so critical to help me keep going when things were really hard. She also was not judgmental at all when we needed to supplement with formula. She helped with laundry and dishes, and one time even helped me find a new nipple shield at 10pm when mine went missing! A lifesaver! I always felt 100% at ease when she stayed overnight caring for my daughter, which helped me to get the sleep I needed while recovering. Her assistance was worth every penny! I plan to hire her again if we have more children.

She is a lovely person who was just who we needed on hand to help us during our births. She anticipated what we needed and counseled us in questions to ask so that we felt very prepared and calm. I would highly recommend her and use her again!

Maritza helped care for our newborn from 2 weeks old to 9 weeks. She helped on a part-time basis typically around 3 days a week. Maritza has a very kind, welcoming presence and our newborn felt comfortable with her.

She was timely and respectful to any wishes we had. Without asking, she would help straighten up the house, light cleaning (dishes, laundry), and make sure I was getting the support I needed postpartum. I enjoyed her company and her help enabled me to catch up on rest. We really enjoyed Maritza and would highly recommend.

We are so grateful that Maritza Pedroza was available and agreed to work with us for our homebirth in 2020. When we told our midwife that she would be with us she got excited and told us that Maritza had been one of the original founders of the doula program at the hospital she had worked for.

While my labor progressed much faster than I'd ever imagined I'm so glad we had Maritza with us. She was calm, reassuring, and to me brought a very maternal presence that I wasn't able to otherwise have. She also helped my husband to feel confident and guided us through our journey.

She helped my husband and the rest of our birth team to clean up afterwards, and helped support us postpartum. The only negative thing I can is say is that she moved away from our area! I will definitely miss her if we are ever blessed with another baby.

10/10 would Doula again with Maritza. We enlisted her services with our first and second child. Both were emergency c-sections - although my wife was hoping for a vaginal delivery the first time around and VBAC the second time around - our babies had other plans. Despite less than ideal birthing circumstances Maritza helped advocate for our needs when emotions were running high and brought with her a sense of love and support. Her calm and caring demeanor make her the ideal Doula. We recommend Maritza to all our friends and colleagues.

My husband and I worked with Maritza for the birth of our first baby. She was absolutely wonderful! I leaned heavily on her support in the last few weeks leading up to the birth (at almost 42 weeks), she answered all of my questions thoroughly and helped us think through all of our options and preferences so that we felt confident going into birth. She was a very calming presence in our birthing room. I ended up leaning on her less than I expected during birth (we had a great labor and delivery nurse who was very helpful) but it was great having someone there who I knew was in our corner and knew what our preferences were. I would definitely hire her again. We had a successful unmedicated vaginal delivery. She calmed a lot of my first time mom anxieties and was there for the entire process, from the moment she joined our birth team.

Maritza is a phenomenal doula. Her presence is calming, comforting, and serene.  I had a very difficult labor and delivery and having Maritza guide us through the process was the best decision we could have made.  Her massage and breathing techniques helped me get through some blindingly awful contractions.  She's also very familiar with navigating through hospitals and their procedures so you feel like you have someone on your side the whole time.  We also signed up for postpartum care with her and she seamlessly became a part of our family. She made sure our home was clean and organized, cooked meals for us, and knew all sorts of magic tricks to calm our baby down when she had endless crying spells. Martiza has a beautiful heart and spirit and I can't imagine going having gone through such a difficult time without her. I would highly recommend hiring her - you'll thank your lucky stars you did!

Martiza is the BEST hands down. I wanted to try a "natural" birth but that wasn't in the cards. My child was breech and due to other complications had to be delivered via emergency c-section at 35 weeks. Maritza was a calming presence that helped us navigate the uncertainty of what a c-section entailed and was by my side the whole time. I know my doctors were rushing and not explaining because they feared for my child's life. That said, I desperately needed a point person to help explain to me what on earth a c-section entails even though I never in a million years thought I'd need one as a healthy 26-year-old that read ALL the books and had ALL the plans. (hah!) Then when my second came along we hoped for a VBAC. Unfortunately, that wasn't in the cards either. My son threatened to arrive at 28 weeks and was delivered via emergency c-section at 33 weeks. I was in the hospital on bedrest for a month. Maritza came to visit me several times a week and made sure I was doing ok. As a mom, we often forget about ourselves and focus on having a healthy baby. Martiza focuses on YOU and helps carry out your wishes even when things don't go according to plan.

The secret to a happy delivery is to expect the unexpected and bring backup. We don’t have family in town so hiring a doula was a must, and Maritza provided the loving, motherly support I needed when the going got tough. She was so helpful and made us feel so comfortable that after delivery we hired her to provide post partum care as well. We even tried to hire her as our full-time nanny when I went back to work, but lucky for her patients, her doula work comes first. I highly recommend Maritza as your doula!

Maritza was very helpful and informative prior to labor. She's also very friendly and easy to be around. My husband and 5 year old were very comfortable with her, too. I was in active labor with Maritza helping extensively every minute for 16 hours. My labor was a great experience and I would not be able to say that without Maritza's involvement. She stayed several hours after my daughter's birth, too, just to be sure we were okay. She even knitted hats for our baby and her sister. Her calm, nurturing demeanor provided a stress-free environment. We couldn't recommend her more.

Maritza was a lovely and integral part of our birth experience. We were looking for someone who would help guide us through the entire process, while also helping us to stay as relaxed as possible. Maritza was all of that and more. Our goal was to have a positive experience during the birth of our first child, and while doulas are generally considered as helpful to those couples who are interested in avoiding an epidural and other interventions, we found that Maritza was immensely supportive of whatever steps we felt were appropriate for us (which ultimately included an epidural). We ended up having an induced labor, and Maritza was able to help guide us in asking questions of my medical provider so that we would better understand the procedure, both before and during the induction. Maritza was a great support to my husband as well as myself. We both appreciated having her calming presence, and she was truly a “team player” during the event. At one point during the birth, she sprayed a little peppermint spray on her wrists and helped me focus on the calming smell. Thank goodness Maritza had brought plenty of extra peppermint candies to share with my husband and anyone else in the room! During the “golden hour,” Maritza was immensely helpful in helping our baby start to breastfeed. Maritza’s help and focus in the chaotic moments after the birth are an example of her polite and calm attitude with which she approached the entire experience. Maritza also took photos immediately after the birth, which we would never have taken ourselves because we were focused so intently on our new baby. She also helped us post-partum in caring for our baby while we caught up on a bit of sleep. It was great that we had established a trusting relationship during the birthing process and these few visits afterwards really cemented our warm feelings towards her.
