Amy came into my life not long after we brought our daughter, Eliza, home from the hospital. At the time, Amy was primarily doing nights only and I needed days, she agreed to help me anyway. That is the type of person Amy is; selfless, giving, helpful..
Amy understood that my husband and I had a different story than most first time parents, in that we lost a son, Oliver, the year prior. Her caring and compassion was beyond compare and she made me feel so secure while helping me settle into a routine and giving me the confidence that I was lacking.
I would highly recommend Amy to any family, especially first time parents.
We had our first child at the end of January and were so blessed to have Amy with us for two weeks. She is extremely knowledgeable and taught us so much in the time she spent here. Her presence gave us the confidence and rest we needed to continue our own journey. She cooked wonderful meals, including lactation treats, and spent a lot of time loving our little boy. Amy not only took wonderful care of us and our baby but also quickly became part of the family.
We would absolutely recommend Amy to anyone looking for help postpartum. She truly was a blessing to our family and someone who we hope will remain part of our lives going forward.
Amy was a huge asset after we brought home our baby girl. Amy was extremly easy to work with. She is very knowledgable and it was obvious from the first time she met our baby girl that she had her best interests at heart. When it was time to feed at night we would text each other- she would bring my baby to me and then come get her when I was done feeding. She was able to bring her to me, take her back downstairs and put her to sleep without waking my husband! Not only were we extremely grateful to have Amy during the night to help with feedings but we also learned a great deal from her. Being first time parents, we had a lot of questions and concerns. Amy took the time to sit down with us and answer each and every question in addition to communicating via phone and text messaging throughout the day. My husband and I are so grateful to have such a caring, kind and knowledgable care giver in our lives. We will continue our relationship with Amy throughout our daughters life and will definitely hire her again when we have our next child!
Amy cared for my newborn son, right after coming home from the hospital. She immediately made me feel comfortable and I knew my baby would be in excellent hands. Because my two sons are 4yrs apart, Amy reminded me of all the "new born" tips/sleep secrets, etc. I had forgotten over the years! Her insight and experience is invaluable! She's simply the best!
Amy Washington is an absolutely fabulous post-partum doula and an incredible resource. My husband and I hired Amy to help us the first month after our son's birth, and now we don't want her to go! As first time parents she helped us learn how to best care for a newborn after coming home from the hospital, and let us get some sleep in the process (which is invaluable). We felt comfortable knowing she was watching him overnight and he really loves her. She is a baby whisperer! Amy goes above and beyond, and I recommend her without reservation. I am so grateful to have found someone we can trust with our sweet baby, and we plan to use Amy for overnight babysitting moving forward. If we have another child, booking her for post-partum care will be the first thing on our to-do list! I'm happy to provide more details if you are considering hiring Amy - she can put you in touch with me directly.
Amy was an angel that came into our lives at the perfect time. I was completely sleep deprived with nearly 6 month old twins and a 3 year old...I desperately needed help at night! Amy came to meet us and I instantly felt like I was chatting with a friend i'd known for years and was confident i'd feel very comfortable with her in my home caring for the twins at night. One of the things that I love most about Amy is that she is not stuck on one "method" to care for kids. She listened to me then offered several options and possible solutions for us to then develop a plan together. I was able to catch up on some sleep and let Amy care for the twins and yet still feel like I was part of how it was being done. She helped us learn some new techniques for night wakings and provided an opportunity for the twins to be comforted and soothed back to sleep without the option of nursing (which always ended up happening when I went in). I wish that we could have Amy here full time...we seriously love her that much!!! We are finished needing night help for now but continue to keep in touch with Amy and will use her for sitting when she is available. I also need to mention that she is a WEALTH of knowledge with all things baby and was able to refer several day and night time sitters that are in my area for us to use when we she isn't available. I had been been so sleep deprived and in need of help so much that I didn't even have the time to properly look for help...Amy to the rescue...she was able to see my needs without me even having to say a thing and she pulled the right connections from her network and we now have an awesome daytime sitter too thanks to her!!! I could go on and on...
Amy is amazing. Our son has severe acid reflux and we hadn't slept in months. We had hit rock bottom and needed help. A friend recommended Amy. Amy swept in and saved us. She has excellent knowledge about kids, but more importantly she is compassionate and a joy to be around. I had been nervous about a "night nurse," but Amy put me at ease from the second I met her. Our son loved her and so do we. Don't become zombies from no sleep--let Amy save you too. You won't regret it.
Amy was our full-time nanny for almost 3 years for our 3 precious children - at the time of her starting with us, the kids were newborn, 2, and 5. Amy was always professional, dependable, and punctual. She rarely called in sick and always came to work with smile on her face. She was great at anticipating our needs as parents as well as the kids needs. Amy was an incredibly hard worker who was always willing to accommodate her schedule to make things easier for us. She was always loving with the children yet stern when needed and it was not uncommon to walk into the door to a house full of laughter as she was telling one of her Babs and Eves stories, tickling the kids, or playing games. We've been without her about 6 months now and the kids never stop asking about Amy. Thankfully, she continues to visit and/or babysit when her schedule allows. We love her dearly and would highly recommend her (without reservation) to care for anyone's child or family.
Our family's experience with Amy Washington has been absolutely fabulous. Amy loves her work and is extremely adept at caring for both newborns and older siblings. She consistently exercised good judgement and that, combined with her generous knowledge and compassion made her an excellent fit. We highly recommend Amy's services and would most certainly work with her again.
