I couldn't be happier with my service from Margaret! Although I did not use her as my doula, she provided placenta capsules for me. She was incredibly thorough in answering any and all of my questions. When I was going through prodromal back labor, although I was not using her as a doula, she still sent me some tips and tricks to help me get the baby moving into a more comfortable position (and it worked!). That's great service. When it came time for me to deliver, I forgot to reach out to let her know I was in labor but once I did, she made it to the hospital so quickly to pick up my placenta. She even followed up with me to see how I was feeling. I'm very grateful for her personal touch to her service, it made what COULD have been a stressful time, that much less stressful. Will absoloutely recommend her.
Thank you Margaret for the “wonder pills.” Will 100% be contacting you if/when we decide to expand our family. You were so easy to work with even with my crazy schedule and being out of state. Thank you also for meeting us at the hospital and dropping them off. I think I may have mentioned before - but I’m convinced those pills are bottles happiness!!!
I am a first-time mom and I planned for a "natural" birth using the Alternative Birthing Center and Margaret as my doula. Margaret was fantastic. Margaret helped prep me for what to expect during labor, how to "breathe" through my contractions to let my body do it's own work, and how to keep my head in the game when things got overwhelming. I labored at home for 5 hours before heading into the birth center - a feat I only think was possible because of Margaret's prep! When I arrived I felt like I was falling apart and I was so happy to see Margaret. My contractions were overwhelming at that point and I didn't feel like I was working with my body anymore. Margaret helped get me in the right positions to make sure I was pushing through my contractions productively, she coached me through the contractions and breathed with me so I could just follow her lead, and she kept making little tweaks when I was tensing up to make sure I relaxed everything between contractions. I was exhausted, but having Margaret take the lead and coach me through was exactly what I needed to channel my energy and get me through - she is like the pacer that leads you on the tangents in a marathon when you just can't think anymore (I am a runner)!
I definitely think Margaret helped me get the natural childbirth that I wanted, but I would have wanted her by my side regardless. I trust Margaret completely and feel confident with her advocating for me. If labor does not go as planned I want Margaret there to tell me my options or give it to me straight if there isn't an option! I plan to use Margaret again on future pregnancies.
We also used Margaret's postpartum overnight care and were highly impressed. She is a baby whisperer! If you are completely overwhelmed by lack of sleep, a night or two with Margaret can do wonders.
Margaret was very prompt. Came and picked up my placenta. Was very personable and caring. Asked if I have any questions and delivered my placenta pills to my home day 2. first couple weeks were tough but def feel better when I take the pills. She is available for any questions and I know if I needed anything I can call her or message her.
I couldn't have more great things to say about Margaret Rodeghier. My birthing experience couldn't have gone better due to her constant guide and aid. There were so many things that I thought I had prepared myself for that I wouldn't have had any idea about if Margaret wasn't there to guide me.
I am absolutely amazed by Maragaret's skill and expertise. Not only do I think it should be required that all woman going through pregnancy and birth have a doula, I think it should be required that they utilize the Gross Pointe Doula's services!!!! I am honestly convinced that she is a super hero!!
The guidance and information I received from Margaret is priceless. From first meeting, to the hospital, to following up, she was there for every step of the way.
Due to having Margaret there, I now have given birth to a happy, healthy baby boy. I HIGHLY recommend Margaret Rodeghier, The Gross Pointe Doula's services to any woman gong through pregnancy.
Margaret was Great! She was patient and answered all my questions about encapsulating. She arrive the same day I have birth and I had my pills before I left the hospital. In just 2 days of taking the pills I can feel the difference! I would definitely recommend Margaret! Her service and knowledge was amazing.
Margaret did the encapsulation of my placentas fro my twins. They each had their own placenta. She was so easy to work with. She made the arrangements so easy that I didn't have to worry about it at all while I was busy having two babies. She was so quick to get the placenta pills back to m that I was able to start taking them quickly. My milk supply has been amazing and the pills help me the most with my mood. I had almost 4 weeks in the NICU with my son and he was diagnosed with a genetic condition that will be a lifetime of managment. We had two older children at home over an hour away and it was a very streeful time. The birth did not go as planned and looking back I felt like I went through a lot of emotional trauma yet my mood remained steady. I am so thankful for her and for this service. I would highly recommend encapsulation and i would recommend Margaret even more! Thank you for making a tough time a lot easier!
I contacted margaret about encapsulating my placenta and she answered all questions i had. She was super plesant to deal with and checked on me a few times up until my due date to see how i was feeling. Once i went into labor we sent her a text to keep her posted. When she came to the hospital to pick up the placenta we talked with her a bit, super nice! She delivered my placenta the next day around 930 pm which was super nice, i never would expect someone to come out at that time of night for that :). When she arrived at my house i was breastfeeding and she gave a couple pointers to me on my latch and was shure to tell me if i had any questions to contact her. She is wonderful and sent me a text the next couple of days to check in with how we were doing and how breastfeeding was going. I will absolutely use her again and will be recommending her to anyone interested in encapsulation or a doula. I am sure as a doula she is amazing as well!
Margaret was just what I'd hoped for in finding a doula. My first daughter was a high risk, medically managed pregnancy and I wanted my second experience to be much more natural. I found Margaret through an online community of likeminded moms. When we met, Margaret was kind, warm, knowledgeable, confident, and patient. Margaret was there for me to promptly answer any questions I had, be a listening ear for me to vent, and to provide resources of information in order to help guide my decisions. When I went into labor, Margaret came over to help me with positional work and then when the time came, she flowed us to the hospital. Margaret was there emotionally for both me my husband and me. She helped me with my pain management through contractions, knowing my wishes were to have a drug-free vbac. Margaret was my advocate to make sure I was most comfortable. My husband and I were so glad we had Margaret's support. She was an essential part of my birth team. After having my daughter, Margaret made sure we were all ok, that I was cleaned up, fed, and had gotten breastfeeding going. Margaret came over a few days after the birth to see how everything was going and to bring me my placenta capsules. After sharing such a precious experience, it was difficult for me to say goodbye to Margaret, but i know she's there for me if I need and I'll certainly use her again if we have more children.
Margaret brought to being the most important moments of what will always be my most natural birth, which would not have been possible without the most amazingly determined superwoman of a Doula Margaret Rodeghier! After nearly 30 hours of labor, an unexpected last minute posterior presentation, followed up with an unheard of kidney stone passing at 9cm...Thank you Margaret for 20 hours of unbelievable supporting, baby spinning, unconditional loving, position coaching, back rubbing, hip compressing, Reiki giving, soul focusing, water forcing, nth hour delivery posturing, surrogate sistering, and birth plan advocating...Thank you for carrying us onto our rightful and sacred birth journey when I could no longer do it myself...The ending of our birth story would not have been written in my words without you! You were a vital piece of the divine feminine collected to show me what else on this Earth is possible...My third and final birth was a testimony to the force women carry within - to bring forth life and to share that life force to carry others through the impossible.
From my very first meeting with Margaret in the hospital room where she came to pick up the placenta, she was already demonstrating her wonderful character. While I had not hired her as my doula (I just ordered the placenta pills), she took her time with me. When she came to pick up the placenta, she asked me how I was doing, how the birth was, how breastfeeding was going and was just such a calming force to have at that moment. Just the way she talks and smiles and her demeanor can seriously put one at ease. After our hospital interaction, she scheduled a time to drop off the placenta pills at my home (talk about great service!). I asked her plenty of breastfeeding and baby questions when she stopped by and once again, she had so much knowledge and a way of putting me at ease. Being a first time mother and the first of my friends to have a child, this was priceless. She is a WEALTH of knowledge. When my back was aching from being hunched over all the time (nursing of course), I reached out to her to see if she knew a good mother friendly place to get a massage and within minutes I had the name of someone who not only specialized in this type of thing but who makes home visits. Then when I wanted to start supplementing with organic formula and couldn't get much information on this from my doctor, again Margaret helped me get access to some trustworthy sources online where I could get some insight on the top organic formulas.
Margaret is not only filled with amazing information but she honestly CARES and she clearly LOVES what she does. You can always tell when someone is passionate about their work. She checked in with me every couple weeks just to see how I was doing. It was totally unexpected and beyond appreciated. Margaret goes above and beyond. For anyone looking for a doula or frankly not even looking for one - you should just hire her. You will be so glad you did.
Margaret is just simply amazing!
My first birth had ended in a c-section and when I got pregnant with my second child I knew that I wanted to try for a natural birth. Having two high risk pregnancies, I was very nervous and scared about my upcoming labor. Margaret listened to all of my fears and was very comforting. She offered me all the literature that she could to help me combat these fears and by my deliver date I was a lot less nervous. My labor went very fast, I delivered two hours after checking into the hospital. I didn't have the opportunity to have an epidural because of my fast progression. Margaret didn't leave my side the entire time. She knew exactly what to say and do to help me with an unmedicated delivery. She suggested ways in which my husband could be there for me and in result his experience was a lot less stressful. The birth of my daughter was absolutly amazing. I got the VBAC that I wanted and because of the support that I received from Margaret it was such a postive and healing experience. I would highly recommend her for any situation i.e. first time mom, vbac, etc.
Margaret was wonderful to work with! She helped me to encapsulate my placenta, which was awesome. She came to the house to meet us and pick up the deposit, she came to the hospital for placenta pick up, and she dropped off the capsules when they were ready - just two days later! She also helped me with the new mom stuff that was bothering me. She texted to check on me a couple weeks into motherhood as well. I recommend her to all mothers and will be using her again in the future!
