I have worked with Elaine over the past four years as my doula for two of my children. My second birth I was trying for a VBAC and my husband and I knew we wanted a doula.  During our first meeting we felt an immediate connection and comfort with both Elaine and her back-up doula.  Elaine has a deep knowledge of pregnancy, labor and birth.  She is an active listener and respected our goals.

During labor Elaine provided relief through different positions or applying pressure where I needed it to help me through contractions.  She also was by my side when my husband had to step away.  We had a successful, natural VBAC and I feel very strongly that part of this success is due to the presence of Elaine by our side.

When pregnant with our third child I contacted Elaine right away.  This pregnancy I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and didn’t find the support from the hospital I needed. Elaine shared a resource that helped me control my glucose levels solely by diet and exercise.  She taught my husband and I the Three Sisters of Balance stretches, which I believe assisted in my baby moving down into position at the end of my pregnancy.  For the first time, my body went into labor on its own and ended with a natural, healthy birth.

At the end of this pregnancy COVID-19 hit our country.  Our hospital now only allowed one support person, my husband.  Despite this change, the support I received from Elaine continued during this stressful time for our family.  Elaine routinely called to check-in and offered the calmness that surrounds her which helped me find my peace in a time of turmoil.  She was flexible and while not able to be present at this birth, remained on-call and ready to be our doula virtually during my labor and delivery.  Having Elaine as part of my care team has been beneficial and helped my natural labor and birth dreams come true.

We had Elaine as our doula for our second child. I had a planned CS with our daughter despite being a very needed surgery it was traumatic to me.

We wanted to have a VBAC and knew that having a doula is evidence based to improve birth outcomes for mother and baby. (Look up EBB for Doulas)

In many ways I mentally approached my VBAC from a FTM point of view.. I was nervous and inexperienced being that I never went into labor at all. I didn't know what to expect and I was scared.

During the prenatal birth plan meeting Elaine wisely helped me to process my fears and apprehensions with evidence based research.

Never did she inappropriatly share her personal opinions or swayed me in any particular direction but instead guided me into making 100% my own fully informed decisions.

During birth she maintained a beautiful balance of respecting my husbands and I's privacy while also being there exactly when we needed her to be more hands on.

I had a personal medical complication that to no ones fault made labor extremely long and tedious. Having her consistent calming presence helped me and my husband immensely.

She utilized essential oils. massage and other comfort measures to help me manage pain and discomfort.

She also utilised spinning babies moves that helped my labor progress.

We recommend her to everyone and if God blesses us with another child Elaine will be one of the first to know. She was such a blessing and we really believe she was the difference between a unwanted second CS and a VBAC. My husband and I needed someone like Elaine.

Whether you have the support of a husband or are single, FTM, STM or VBAC, planning a natural birth or not Elaine has the tact and experience to support you in pregnancy and labor.

Elaine was wonderful. Could not have done it without her. She was there every step of the way even though our birth took 3 full days. She is caring , knowledgeable , and a must have for any birth.

Elaine was great to work with. She was very responsive and helpful! She was there for the entire labor and kept encouraging me and telling me to relax and breathe. Her voice was very gentle and soothing. She also taught my husband how to support and encourage me. My husband felt like he could do something to help me with my labor pain. As the first time parents, we would not have known what to do if it was without Elaine. We would highly recommend Elaine.

I can't say enough good things about working with Elaine. A friend recommended that I have a doula and it was the best decision I made regarding my pregnancy and the birth of my daughter. I wanted to have a natural birth and do not think it would have been possible without a doula. Elaine had a very comforting presence and touch which helped tremendously during the labor. She was available and nicely deferred to the midwife/nurses when needed. She was also very supportive for my husband as he did not know what to expect either. it was helpful being able to attend a class put on by Elaine prior to labor learning about best practices and how to advocate for myself. Elaine came to our home afterwards and allowed us to process the experience which was beneficial as I was not able to grasp everything during the experience. She also made herself available as a lactation consultant when I called her up crying as I was trying to figure out how to be a new mother. I highly recommend working with a doula and I highly recommend Elaine - I know if we decide to have another child I will call her up to reserve her time once we know we're pregnant!

We are so blessed to have had Elaine as our doula. Words cant describe the absolute gift she has to support and encourage laboring mamas in ANY circumstance - my daughter's birth certainly tested all of our limits and Elaine never waivered or showed a moment of weakness. She put every ounce of her energy into providing me with comfort and peace for 44 hours without a break, and my husband and I are in awe of her gift!

I went into labor around midnight, and called Elaine at 4am. She hopped right in the car and came over bright and early, and spent the morning helping me though the early contractions. At 11am we went into the birth center, and I hadnt progressed enough to stay there. When the midwife told me I had a lot of work ahead still and sent me home to rest and progress, I was already exhausted and felt so defeated - Elaine had all the right words to calm and encourage me. While I continued to labor at home, she rested in the room across the hall so I could try to catch some sleep between contractions, but drifted in silently and peacefully as each wave hit me to apply perfect pressure to my hips that made the contractions so much easier.

At 11pm we returned to the birth center, and I still had a lot of work ahead. Exhausted and beyond my limit, I made the decision to go to the hospital for pain medication. Admiting what I needed in that moment was HARD, but Elaine was so in tune with me and so trusted my instincts I felt like she was truly my advocate in that hard place.

My daughter wasnt born until 8pm the next day - and dear Elaine was amazingly awake and completely tuned into me the whole time. Having her by my side took pressure off my husband, gave me peace, and helped me feel comfortable with my decisions all along the roller coaster of labor. She is gentle, strong, wise and perfectly maternal. I cant recommend her highly enough!

We are so thankful we had Elaine as our Doula.    We didn't meet Elaine until the end of my pregnancy and only got to meet with her twice before I delivered, but from the first time we met her we were impressed by her willingness to listen and understand what we wanted for the birth of our daughter.  She brought up so many questions and things to think about and discuss that hadn't even crossed our minds being first time parents.  I was planning a water birth through a birth center but at my 39th week appt we were told I would have to deliver at the hospital.  That night my water broke.  We let Elaine know what was going on and she arrived at the hospital promptly the next morning.  She was very attentive to me and how I was doing as soon as she arrived.  Her kind encouraging words and soft touch kept me calm and focused through each contraction.  She suggested some different postisions to help keep me comfortable.  At one point I needed to go to the bathroom and as I was going had a small push.  She asked if I felt I needed to push and I said I didn't know but that I didn't push on purpose.  She quickly went and got the midwife who watched me go through a few contactions and then checked me and I was at 8 cm.  Not long after that my daughter was born. Thanks to her attentiveness, encouraging words, and soothing touch, my birth experience was very positive and the best day of my life.  If we have another little one we would be honored to have her as our Doula again.  Thanks Elaine.
