My husband and I decided to hire a doula for our first baby, and we had a wonderful experience with Gaile. She responded to me immediately when I reached out to her, and we met at a coffee shop to interview her. She was professional and personable, well prepared for our appointment and yet like meeting an old friend. We chose her due to the connection we felt at our meeting, as well as for her experience, knowlege, and communication. She was always quickly available via text throughout the pregnancy, and she came to our house prior to the birth for a comfort measures meeting, bringing her back-up doula with her in case something arose where she could not be present for our birth. She was with us at home as soon as we wanted her there, before driving down to the birth center. My husband wound up doing most of the comfort measures, however Gaile took the opportunity to transform herself into exactly the supportive role we needed. She ran a few errands for us while I was in labor (baby came earlier than we had prepared for!), helped us to relax at home and enjoy early labor, advocated for us while we made medical decisions during birth in terms of helping us to process what the midwives were recommending, and took beautiful photos of the birth. I was not sure if I wanted birth photography, but it immensely helped me process my labor and birth in the following weeks, and provided us with cherished photos to remember the day we became a family. Gaile also brought delicious homemade soup for after the birth! Her postpartum visit was also great, we enjoyed talking over our birth with her, and she brought me lactation cookies and the best nipple cream. Additionally, she encapsulated my placenta, and happily re-processed them into smaller pills at my request when I had to adjust my dosage. Gaile is an incredible resource, and we are thankful she was there for the delivery of our daughter. We highly recommend her!
I had such a wonderful experience with Gaile as my doula. I have a very rough and intense labor and it was so nice having a support system other than my husband also just having her there for a support for him as well. I'll definitely hire her again for future babies!
Gaile was such a pleasure to work with. Right from our first meet-up, she clearly had so much ch knowledge and knew what she was talking about, as well as passion for birth, but never pushed anything on me, she always supported my choices 100% but was there to provide evidence when I asked for it and needed it. I can't recommend her enough. She also does beautiful birth photography. She is very responsive and always provides me with info I am looking for, even post-partum. I already know she will be a player in my next birth.
Gaile! Where do I begin?!? She is the sweetest most helpful and calming woman I know. She made me feel completely comfortable and confident in my birth plan and was my cheerleader when it came to executing it. No matter what time of day or what kind of questions I had, Gaile was ready and willing to answer them...and I had tons of questions because my baby wasn’t sure if she was coming early or not! Her friendship and services continue after the birth of my baby and I’m so grateful I found her ??
Gaile was our backup doula for my second child's birth, and we loved her so we hired her for our third baby. She's the BEST, plus she's an amazing photographer who is able to capture those special, candid moments while giving us support. While my second birth was very fast, my third was much different, a combo of start-stop early labor, and ending with horrible back labor. Gaile came immediately to support me during my early labor, leaving her family reunion even, and had such an amazing, encouraging attitude. She was with us for over 24 hours, and her skills and knowledge are top notch. I think every woman needs a good doula to support her during labor, and Gaile is AMAZING. Thank you so much for all you did, Gaile. I feel like you're a part of our family.
If I have another little one Gaile will be the first person I call! She was beyond helpful durring my delivery!!! Things did not exactly go as planned, but she helped me make an informed decision when my brain was barely available and made certain I was comfortable in every way. And I can not thank her enough for the help once we were home!!! She is incredibly knowledgeable and wanted to make certain I had the birth I wanted. Many places like to push their opinions on you, she did not. She simply offered her knowledge and then let us decide. And her photos are amazing. Having the delivery documented was such an added bonus.
Working with Gaile was an absolute pleasure! I found her by following her advertisement on the back of her vehicle. It was late in my pregnancy and I was looking for a Doula based off of a recommendation from my doctor. She was so professional and so knowledgeable that I immediately felt confident in selecting her to be our Doula. Micah was a breach baby but instead of telling me that I shouldn't do it, she was encouraging and supportive of our birth plan. She was with us shortly after I started contractions and she followed us all the way to the hospital when my blood pressure got out of control. She was there and took beautiful pictures as I gave birth to my son (natural breach birth). If you are looking for a Doula with knowledge, a cool head, and humor, Gaile is perfect for you! Thank you for being there for us Gaile, it was so much better with you by our side, helping us achieve the birth our son deserved!

All women deserve a doula. I was blessed to find Gaile. I knew within minutes of our interview that her caring personality, great sense of humor, and similar beliefs made her a perfect fit for our home birth. She has an innate sense of knowing what a mom needs, and jumps on it before she is asked. She's always willing to answer questions, or simply offer words of encouragement. I felt supported physically and emotionally before, during and after delivery. She cares for the whole woman. She is an amazing doula, birth photographer, placenta encapsulation specialist, and most importantly friend. Do yourself a huge favor, and bring this woman into your birth experience!
I found Gaile through a Facebook group for military spouses. She needed only a few more births until she got her license, and I signed up, due to the fact my husband was deploying before the baby was born. We met, and instantly clicked. It broke her heart that this baby wouldn't meet her daddy until she was 5 months old, and decided to take me on. I felt like I could talk to her during every false labor, through all the contractions that kinda went somewhere then stopped, and eventually to my 41 week induction. She took pictures of my birth so my husband could see, and aquiesed to my request that no notification of the birth be made until after my husband could be notified. Fortunately for her, she only had to wait about 15 minutes, and he called. Gaile was there to take homecoming pictures of when the baby girl got to meet her daddy, and again, after my youngest was born. She rocks, and definately helps stressed out soon to be mamas.
hiring Gaile was one of the best decisions formy birth!
only was her support during labor and delivery invaluable but she was also there before and after birth for support and to answer questions! My husband was hesitant to spend additional money on the birth, because we all know births are expensive, but after wards, he couldn't stop talking about how Gaile was so worth the investment and he was so glad we hired her!
I hired Gaile to be my doula at 12 weeks pregnant. We vibed really well together, and I felt like she understood my nerves and anxiety over my 3rd pregnancy. My first pregnancy was blissful and perfect, but I didn't feel in control of my labor and delivery. My 2nd pregnancy, my daughter was diagnosed with a fatal birth defect and she was stillborn. This was my rainbow baby, and being away from family I needed some support. Gaile did just that. She was always easily accessible with questions or concerns I had. Taught me breathing and comfort positions (ones that were actually useful to me during labor). When it got closer to my guess date, I was full of nerves due to my previous loss. Gaile went above and beyond and came with me to an ultrasound. Several hours before labor began my OB wanted me to get a c section for certain reasons. Once again Gaile talked me off the ledge and had me ask informed questions. I ended up going into labor hours later and she supported me at home and then again at the hospital. She made me feel like I was in control of my birth. My beautiful daughter made her way into this world the way I envisioned. I couldn't have asked for a better birth experience, and Gaile was a huge part of that. She was knowledgeable, caring, and compassionate. Part of me is sad this was my last baby just so I could hire her again.
I contacted Gaile when I was roughly 37 weeks pregnant had an interview with her and I decided right then and there that she was the right fit for me.
This was my 3rd pregnancy and was attempting to do a vbac2. She have me so much information about my rights as a patient and what to expect in a hospital setting.
I went into labor on my due date. I had a back up doula which was great bc Gaile was helping amother mother in labor. Gaile met us at the hospital and helped with contractions. She was my rock and strength through out my labor she helped md stay motovated and focus on exactly what I wanted and needed. With out her I dont know what I would do with out her. She was simply amazing
Gaile is an AWESOME doula! She was my only support as my husband was deployed and my family that was going to be here had a medical emergency and couldn't be here. Gaile did everything she could to help me. She took me to the hospital she held my hand when i needed comfort and took amazing photographs of the birth of my daughter so my husband could feel like he was there. She answered any questions I had l, and was just a text or phone call away. I felt like I had known Gaile for years. She is very knowledgeable and helped me make decisions giving me as much information as possible. I highly reccomend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive doula.
My experience with Gaile, my doula was amazing! I could not have done it all natural without her! The education she provided my husband and I was outstanding. She made me feel so comfortable that I felt I could call her questions or concerns anytime, and I did. When the big day finally came she was what got me through the pain. At one point I felt I could no longer tolerate the pain but she was there next to me reminding how to breathe and reinforcing how strong I was and how close I was to having my baby! While I was laboring she gave me a foot massage that felt amazing and helped ease some pain. I honestly feel I could not have had my baby without medication if I didn’t have her on my side. Through the entire process I felt she had my best interest at heart and I felt I could trust her through this difficulty beautiful process. I will forever be thankful for her!!
We used Gaile for our second pregnancy and birth. I can honestly say she made it absolutely amazing! She is very knowledgeable and does not push you in any direction but gives you all the information to make your own decisions. Gaile went above and beyond the call of duty at every turn. Including some extra help after i got home. I can not stress how warm and caring and thoughtful she is.
We also got the photos package which I was unsure of but turned out to be one of the highlights for us. I am SO glas we have all the amazing birth photos. It allowed us to just be in the moment. The photo slideshow she made us made everyone cry it was so beautiful.
Easily worth every penny!
We hired Gaile as our doula in 2015 for the birth of our third child. I was attempting a VBA2C and wanted the support of a doula, and Gaile was recommended by a friend. ahe provided the support and knowledge leading up to my labor and birth, i was confident in myself and my body's ability to naturally birth my child. She provided evidence-based resources for any questions I had and never pushed her own agenda onto me. She let my husband and I take the lead during my labor but stepped in exactly when needed as well. I had a successful VBA2C in Novemver 2015 with Gaile by my side.
Hiring Gaile as my doula was the best decision I made during my pregnancy. She not only was an amazing support but super knowledgeble. She helped my husband and I make informed decisions about the birth of our daughter. I wish I had known about her during my first pregnancy. And I would definitely hire her again if I had another pregnancy. She was awesome. Every woman should have a doula, they are worth every penny.
Gaile is amazing! I’m not sure what other word I could use to express just how great it was to have her at my daughter’s birth. From the moment Gaile met my husband and I at the hospital, I could tell we were all in good hands. I was in the middle of a long (read: 60-hour) labor, and was feeling discouraged at the rate I was progressing. From the moment she arrived, Gaile listened compassionately and shared her vast knowledge with us. Using just a bit of acupressure, Gaile triggered stronger, more consistent contractions, and with her ability to help get my labor back on track, she also gave me a renewed resolve to continue working toward a natural birth for my daughter. Throughout my labor, Gaile interacted with the medical staff on my behalf, always kindly and respectfully, and – depending upon what I needed – was able to quickly and readily suggest a massage, or position, or essential oil that we could try.
Even though circumstances outside of anyone’s control resulted in me needing a C-section, going into that operating room we both felt confident that – with Gaile’s guidance – we had tried every other possible option first.
But beyond the delivery room, Gaile has been a great resource and invaluable friend as well. Gaile is the one who encapsulated my placenta, made my tincture, and has been patient and gracious with my abundance of breastfeeding questions since my daughter’s birth. I know I can call or text her whenever I have a question, or if I just want to say hi. Gaile became a fast-friend, and if we were to ever to find ourselves pregnant again, she would be our very first call!
Gaile processed my placenta after my last baby was born, and I couldn't be happier that I chose her to do it. I had my daughter at home and she ended up being transferred and spent 10 days in the NICU, so it wasn't until my daughter was 3 or so months old that I had her encapsulate my placenta. However, when I made the choice to, Gaile was quick in picking it up from my house, took pictures of it for me and quickly returned the capsules just a few days later. She made sure that I understood how many to take and the possible increase in milk supply that I may have. With the traumatic birth experience I had, I decided to do a rebirthing ceremony that Gaile photographed for me. The images that she was able to capture for me, make me cry every time I look at them. I highly recommend her for ANY service she offers, especially Placenta Encapsulation and photography. I am currently pregnant with baby #4 and plan on having her photograph the birth and encapsulate my placenta in January and can't wait to see the moments she is able to capture then and the benefits of the placenta pills. Gaile Gonzales is professional and it shows in her quick response, quality of work and her demeanor.
Gaile processed my placenta after my last baby was born, and i was thrilled with the overall service, especially the result! she arrived promptly to pick it up and was wonderfully caring and helpful; She returned with the completed capsules less then 24 hours later, and made sure i understood the dosage information she included with the adorably decorated jar of pills. Her professionalism really impressed everyone at the hospital too! I HIGHLY recommend her for ANY service she offers, especially Placenta Encapsulation.
Gail was an amazing help with my birth. She came to my house at the early stages of my labor (which was over 40 hours) and drove with us to the birth center, and she even stayed to help install the car seat when we were ready to take our new baby home. Gail is very knowledgeable about birth and pregnancy, giving us lots of information and things to think about (ie interventions, vitamin K shots, pain management strategies) and she supported my birth plan fully. She met with us a couple times earlier in my pregnancy to go over comfort measures and our birth plan and was not forceful in trying to change what I wanted out of my birth experience. More than knowledgeable, she is also very caring, massaging my hands and head during the toughest parts of labor and helping my husband be a superstar. Having Gail as my doula defiantly made the birth of my son much more pleasant and fulfilling.
Gaile was an amazing doula!! All of our pre-natal meetings were professional and informative with a side of "I've got you, girl!!" My husband and I really felt like we had a teamate while preparing for the big day and she certainly came through for my delivery. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter soul to assist and support us through such a big moment in our lives. If you're considering hiring a doula, do it! And hire Gaile- she's awesome!!
Gaile made our birth experience a calming & peaceful event. She walked us through all possibilities, did not push her agenda, instead explained things and let us come to our own decisions, and then we made a birth plan. Having the birth plan was incredible, but was even more incredible was walking through all possibilities--as things always change, and in our case they did. Because of our thoroughness & countless discussions we never once panicked or felt ill at ease with any of the decisions needing to be made. She stayed with me from the moment we got to the hospital until our baby girl was able to breastfeed with ease.
I am a medical practitioner, and needed someone to speak "science" to me, and upon my request Gaile filled the bill. She remained practical and logical to help me make my decisions. I highly recommend Gaile as a doula, and I'm thankful I chose her for our birthing expeirence. She helped us from week 28 on and was hands on throughout the entire process. In addition, I used her placenta encapsulation services and had my milk come in on Day 3, post C-section! And no emotional rollercoasters after, either.
I hope others get such a positive birth experience, as well! A doula is well worth the investment! Thank you Gaile for making ours a beautiful memory!!!
Two and a half years ago, I was pregnant with my first child, a daughter, and my husband was leaving for an 8 month-long deployment. It is safe to say that I was nervous and extremely emotional. I'm not really sure how I first came to the idea of having a doula for my birth but the stars aligned and somehow I found Gaile Gonzales. I met with her for an interview and immediately knew that she was a perfect fit!
My delivery was pretty easy and most of that is because I had the calm and caring Gaile by my side every step of the way. I was confident that I could deliver without my husband being there based on the knowledge Gaile gave me beforehand and how she talked me through the experience from beginning to end!
5 weeks ago, I gave birth to my second child, another little girl! And of course, even though my husband was home for this delivery, I couldn't imagine going through it without Gaile. Once again, Gaile went above and beyond my expectations. She kept me calm and more than anything, kept my husband calm since this was HIS first rodeo!
I absolutely loved having Gaile as my doula and now family friend. I will always have a special place for her in my heart since she was with me for support, knowledge, and strength for both of my delivery experiences. I also used her amazing photography skills to document both births and received breathtaking photos that I will cherish for the rest of my life!
Gaile was kind enough to prepare my placenta for encapsulation and the overall experience was wonderful from beginning to end! I was new to the practice of maternal placentophagy, having posted on an online group inquiring about it. Gaile reached out to me quickly and was eager to answer any questions and really help me understand the process and all of the benefits. I could tell through the entire time we communicated that she really just loves what she does and wants mothers to have access to all forms of pre- and post-partum support. I was afraid that even though she was fairly local to my home, that my place of birth would make it impossible to use her as it was over an hour away. Gaile was more than willing to get me contacts of other PEs by my place of birth if I needed and that's one of the reasons I knew she is really just in it for the love and giving any kind of support she can. Luckily for me, things worked out for us! Gaile was so accommodating, she drove all the way to my hospital to pick up my placenta and even made me my first smoothie with a raw piece. It was so important to me to have the raw pieces for immediate consumption as well as the encapsulation and she made everything so easy for me. I got my other raw pieces right away as well as another deliciously prepared smoothie when she dropped off my encapsulated pills and a lovely cord keepsake in a heart shape. I was thrilled with the turnaround time! I then received my tincture 6 weeks after and couldn't be happier with choosing her. She was so friendly, easy to talk to, and I only wish I had known about all the benefits a doula can provide during birth because I would have definitely used her for my attempted and unsuccessful VBAC.
My experience with Gaile Gonzales was amazing. First and foremost we had a free consultaion/ interview appointment and I immediately fell in love and knew she was the one I just had to talk to my husband first. We both liked the price at which she offered her services and thought it was very fair, however being life, financial restrictions that were already tight had gotten even tighter and we could no longer afford her. I had promptly let her know so she could find another momma in need of her services, but instead she offered herself to us free of charge and would stay with us as long as was needed or unless one of her other paying mommas went into labor. To me she exemplified what a doula does and that is to offer a laboring woman support. She came to us as soon as we needed her, and was extremely helpful in getting my head back where it needed to be to be able to relax through the contractions. Also she helped physically, giving massages and applying pressure where needed. She made the labor process so much easier for me and I don't know how relaxing my homebirth would have gone if she hadn't been there for support. And bless her heart when the midwife wasn't there when our babe came, she kept her cool in front of me, and was very brave for witnessing her first unassisted homebirth vbac :)
I fully recommend Gaile as birth doula. She helped me gave birth naturally and encouraged me along the way so much. Her kindness and warmth make her quite unique and distinguishes her between many professional doulas that I have interviewed. She is very knowledgeable and caring. If you want a natural birth with as less medical interventions as possible, Gaile is a great choice!
As first time parents, we really did not know what we had gotten ourselves into – but any time we felt overwhelmed, Gaile was just a phone call or text message away, and always came through with reliable information and support. In fact, her information was so accurate, that our doctor would later give us the same exact answers, almost verbatim. We came to trust her 100%. We noticed right away Gaile’s compassion, and true talent for working with mothers and babies, and her kind heartedness shone through with every interaction we had with her. We faced many challenges in this pregnancy, including baby’s breech position, which Gaile was incredibly helpful with, suggesting different techniques and strategies to encourage baby to turn. When additional complications arose and our birth plan clearly had to change, Gaile was right there with us. We wanted Gaile to photograph this amazing event, but our birth was moved to the OR and they only allowed my husband in with me. Gaile handed her camera to my husband with some simple instructions, and we were still able to capture the images of our son’s first few moments. She edited them for us along with the beautiful pictures she took in the recovery room when she rejoined us, and we will treasure them forever. (literally, TEARS in my eyes when I look at them!) I has Gaile encapsulate my placenta as well, and he capsules have really helped me regain my hormonal balance since giving birth. Gaile provided excellent postpartum support, including troubleshooting my son’s breastfeeding latch issues – she even answered my texts in the middle of the night in those first days and helped me SO MUCH, when I would have otherwise given up. Now my son nurses like a champ and our breastfeeding relationship is preserved. Our lives have been forever changed by parenthood and we could not have embraced this change so wholeheartedly without Gaile holding our hands every step of the way.
With my first birth I did not have a doula and was in labor for over 24 hours and pushed for two and a half hours past the point of exhaustion. They had my epidural so strong I had no control at all over my legs and it was honestly terrifying. When I became pregnant with my second child and learned that there was a good chance my husband would be gone for the birth I started to become extremely worried. I was told by a friend to think about a doula and when I started searching I came across Gaile. The birth of my second child was amazing thanks to her. Lucky my husband was able to be there and she was a huge help to both of us. Not only was I able to walk through contractions and avoid getting my epidural till later she helped my husband stay calm as wel, he gets a bit worked up in the birth room. Gaile came in the middle of the night and we walked on the track outside the hospital for a while before heading inside, I had already planned on an epidural and once it was in place rather than just having to lay there Gaile helped me into different sitting positions that were more beneficial with each contraction. The labor was less than18 hours and when it came time to push I did two practice pushes before being told to stop as they rushed to get the doctor because my little one was already coming another push and a half later and she was in my arms. Gaile was able to capture some beautiful pictures that we would have never gotten if she was not with us that night. My husband and I both agreed that we would have done close to anything to have had her there for our son's birth the year before. Even now being half way across the country When I messaged her for some tips for having my third child and how to stay calm since my husband was gone for his birth on a deployment she mashed me back with helpful tips and amazing words of encouragement that helped me to deliver another perfect baby. I would recommend her to anyone.
I'm so grateful Gaile was my doula. She listened to my requests and helped to communicate them with hospital stuff. She was never pushy or upset if I didn't do something as I initially planned. She went above and beyond to be available the moment I knew I was getting admitted and stayed well after I delivered to make sure we were settled.
I met Gaile roughly 4 months before I was due with my second child. We had just found out that my husband would be deploying, and that we were moving to another house. She walked me through the birth plan she uses, explained most of the thigns that I didn't know already. When my husband left, I was still two months away. She was there when I needed her, to show me stretches to move the baby in the correct position, to being there during my intense Braxton-Hicks that felt like the real thing. I had an induction, and Gaile got to the hospital the minute her schedule allowed, which was 2 hours before I delivered. She helped calm me down, and relax enough, because though I knew my husband would be gone, it didn't really hit until I was in labor that he wouldn't be there. So she helped to relax me, right then the baby came. She pretty much slid out. Gaile helped me get into the position I needed to push, and almost caught the baby, but the nurses finally came in. She then took pictures of the baby so we could send them to my husband. 6 weeks later I had a post-partum appointment with her, she got to hold the baby, she's taken more pictures of my family, than just the birth. She was there to experience my husband's homecoming, because she delivered his second child. She also is still involved in my life and my kid's life.
Words can express the love and gradituded that I have for Gaile. Gaile was there for me every step of the way. I was able to call or text her any time of day or night. She was very patient, understanding, full of information, caring, and supportive on how I wanted my birth plan to be. I am very bummed that she will not be with me in person on this next pregnancy/birth, but she will be there with me through the Internet, which I am so greatful. I recommend Gaile to everyone that is seeking a doula. She is amazing and trust me she will not disappoint.
