I wasn't sure how having a doula would help my birth experience but I knew I needed help. I have anxiety and pain issues and was nervous to give birth for the first time. Working with Katheryn was the best decision I could have made, and I was so happy I did. Katheryn checked in with me many times in the weeks before labor and provided information and guidence. I knew I could reach her anytime with questions or concerns. She arrived as soon as I began to go into labor when the contractions were not very intense which gave us more time to talk and prepare. Her techniques and ideas about what to do and how to position myself as contractions progressed were so helpful. She knew exactly how to help me through the pain of the contractions. I felt comfortable and confident with her help. No anxiety arose and my pain did not get in the way of the experience itself. At the hospital, we arrived at the perfect time, right before I could start pushing. Even with small complications, Katheryn's encouragement was all I needed to stay calm and focused. Katheryn had studied my birth plan and made sure everything went exactly the way I wanted it to. Katheryn has a true gift for this type of work. I would recommend her services to anyone who wants to have an enjoyable birth experience. The day my daughter was born was the best day of my life, and I'm so happy that I had Katheryn there to ensure that I could have the best experience possible.
