My husband and I had a great experience with Laura.  We've developed a close relationship with her and I consider one of my go-to people when I'm having challenges with my baby.

We've used Laura, both as our birth doula and for postpartum experiences.

She met with us several times before the birth of our son and was very informative to help us figure out what was important for us during the birthing process.  She was always available any time I had any questions or issues.  I even called her in the middle of the night when I had food poisoning, though at the time we didn't know what it was.

I had a long labor with contractions on and off for 5 days.  Laura was right there with us everyday during that week as we were trying to figure out when our little one would arrive.  She even came over and spent the day with us as I had contractions and went with us to the doctor.

On the postpartum side, Laura has helped us out twice.  She stayed with us when my son was going through some serious sleep regression.  And she was a great listening ear and having her around to give us the night off so we could catch up on sleep was amazing.

In short, I'd recommend Laura for all doula functions to anyone.  She genuinely cares about you and is looking out for your best interest.  We consider her family now.

Laura means everything to us for a myriad of reasons difficult to describe completely in 2000 characters, but here's a start:

A bit about me:

I'm the father
This was our first child
I had no idea what a doula was ~6 months ago
I don't have a large support group in the area
Why Laura was amazing for us:

Laura has 4 children herself, and has given birth pretty much every way there is to give birth (personal perspective/bias was important to us). When she speaks on relevant matters it's her combination of knowledge and experience that makes her both genuine and authoritative.

She is incredibly educated on the subjects of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and post-partum. Further, she actively seeks to improve herself.

Laura was incredibly supportive throughout the entire labor process. We had a natural birth at a birthing center (no pain meds). She showed up at our place and helped us through pre-labor. When it was time to move, she knew immediately (I wouldn't have known...).

She then supported us throughout a 9+ hour labor experience. Laura was there for my wife when I needed a rest, she was there for me when I needed support. She never left our side for 12+ hours (including passing placenta/etc).
At each step during the labor process, she was able to break down what was going on, why it was going on, what the intended outcome was, and what our options were.

I cannot recommend Laura Lingle highly enough for her skills and experience as a birth doula. If you're looking for someone in the Puget Sound area, look no further. I will definitely be using Laura for our next birth.
