Fee Details: Hello parents-to-be! Congratulations on this exciting time. If you are looking for a compassionate, loving, and knowledgeable doula, you have found one! Are you unsure what a doula does or wondering if you even need one? Call me! Let's get together and see if we make a good match :). When we meet, we'll see what kind of pregnancy and birth needs you have, and then you can decide if I am the right doula for you. I encourage you to interview more than one doula, and this first meeting is free! A little more about me...I am a mom of two littles, wife of a drummer, lover of dark (and I mean at least 70%) chocolate, recipe experimenter, and want-to-be (trying-to-be) gardner. I became a professional doula in 2013 with Childbirth International. I am a Birth Boot Camp Instructor and teach childbirth classes in Wichita. I am also Rebozo Certified (you will know what that is and how to use it when you hire me as your doula)!

Beth was wonderful! I had never considered a natural delivery, as all the women in my family had C-sections. As the pregnancy progressed, I read about the positive birthing experiences in Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth and I wanted to try to deliver without interventions. I wanted somebody to help support me during the entire labor process. So much of the literature made it sound like doulas/midwives had a contentious relationship with hospital staff. It was important to me to find a doula that was experienced and a calming influence. I wanted to be responsible for myself in the delivery room, but I wanted support during a process that I was not an expert in.
When we met Beth, I immediately knew that she would be everything that I was looking for. She made me feel safe from the very beginning. When we met with Beth, she listened to our goals and helped us prepare. As our delivery date approached, we discovered that our baby was posterior (face up). Beth had suggestions of activities to help move the baby into a better position. On the morning that labor started, Beth came to our house. As soon as she walked through the door I felt myself relax. Each time that I started to panic, she helped me refocus. When I became weary in a position, she always had suggestions of other options. Throughout the entire process, I felt safe and confident. It was Beth that helped us understand that it was time to head to the hospital. When we arrived, Beth was who I turned to with questions… we had already built a level of trust that I needed in those moments. On the other hand, when I needed my spouse, she seemed to melt into the background. She was wonderful in every way. In the end, our baby was born anterior, and without any major interventions! Our doctor told us how impressed he was with Beth’s demeanor and how calm all of us were in the delivery room. Beth will forever be a part of an incredibly positive experience giving birth!
Working with Beth was a wonderful experience from start to finish. I was friends with her already, but got to know her so much better throughout the prenatal, birth, and post-partum periods. She was organized, calm, encouraging, and listened very well. I loved that she shared resources with us as a couple beforehand, but never pushed any particular way as "the only way" to do birth. She encouraged us to dig deep into emotional and spiritual aspects of pregnancy and birth, which I found very helpful. I have so many good memories of working with Beth -- she organized and hosted a wonderful Blessing Way, and the birth itself was empowering and unforgettable. I will treasure these memories for the rest of my life. Thanks for being my doula, Beth!
Even when I met Beth pre-pregnancy, I knew we would hire her as our doula at our next birth. Though my husband wasn't entirely on board initially, he has since expressed that he would not plan a birth without a doula again. Beth has a serene, selfless presence that, while calming and pleasant on an everyday basis, is invaluable during birth. She lives her belief that birth belongs to the parents, and only asserts her expertise where it is desired. She is just the right mix of quiet encouragement, positive presence, and hands on support. We recommend her without reserve!
We highly recommend Beth!!! She was so wonderful to have alongside us throughout our third pregnancy! I had two previous c-sections and was determined to have a VBA2C. We were very grateful as she walked us throughout questions and finding answers, guided me to encapsulate my uterus, guided me to a chiropractor to help rotate our breach baby girl into the correct head-down position, clothed us in constant prayer, helped me outline my birthplan and get me focused, made notes of our whole 26 hour birthing process, encouraged me and kept me fueled with appropriate snacks, was a voice to nurses or resident doctors when I was annoyed and wanted to wait until my real doctor came, she helped relax me and massage my lower back through painful contractions, helped coach me through pushing and took beautiful pictures of the most PRECIOUS moments! She was truly so remarkable! She empowered me to believe in my body's ability to have our baby vaginally and through many long hours proved it to work out! She came and visited afterwards to the hospital and brought a typed summary of our experience, then also visited us bringing yummy food to our home!!! She was such an important part of our wonderful experience! I will forever be grateful for Beth!
Beth was amazing! She was a huge support to me and my husband throughout my entire pregnancy. We made the difficult decision to switch our OB at 34 weeks and she was so supportive and helped to ease my anxiety about the change.
Beth was with us from the time we arrived at the hospital and supported us every step of the way - from walking the halls with us, to helping me move and change positions, to being a calming presence for us and encouraging us throughout the most difficult moments of my labor. She took pictures of the first minutes of my daughter's birth and I love being able to look back and see the emotion of those first moments.
After we were settled at home, she came to visit and brought a copy of our birth timeline. It was great to read all the details that I had forgotten! Beth is great and I don't know what we would have done without her. I would highly recommend her to anyone that is considering a doula.
I hired Beth as my doula to assist me in a vbac and she was crucial in helping me succeed! She was with my husband and I at our house laboring for about 9 hours before we went to the hospital and my husband says, "she was worth every penny just for the time she was with us at home!" I felt like we had an angel floating in and out of our room in the early morning hours while I labored in bed and my husband slept. At the hospital she supported us in a way that allowed space for my husband and I to connect but always had hands on me (which I desperately needed). During pushing it was so helpful to see her trusting face, I felt safe, supported and excited which helped me to have the birth I envisioned. Beth will be at all of my births Lord willing!
As a doula myself, I was choosy, and I think I knew I wanted Beth to be my doula from the first day I met her (before becoming pregnant). Her calming presence and quiet trust in the birthing process were exactly what I needed. Together with my wonderful husband and midwives she rounded out the perfect support team for me during my labor. She has a look of love on her face in all my birth photos and it sounds corny, but if that look was a feeling then that was what I felt throughout my labor.
