Post a testimonial for Megan Mata

Samara Meir-Levi (a birth and postpartum doula) recommended Megan (Samara was out of the country during our birth) and we couldn't be happier with the outcome.
In fact, I KNOW that I would have ended up with interventions that I did not want and possibly a cesarean birth without Megan's expert help, guidance and support.
What did Megan do for us:
She met with us several times before our birth and really focused on helping me feel prepared for the birth process. I thought I was going to be nervous about giving birth but instead I felt empowered and excited.
Megan was with me for almost the entire labor and birthing process which lasted more than 45 hours. After approximately 15 hours of laboring with my husband, Megan came over to our house. I was having back labor and my contractions were all over the place. She helped me power through 12 more hours at home before we went to the hospital.
At the hospital, Megan helped me get exactly what I needed, including a new nurse (I didn't like /feel comfortable with the nurse who I had been assigned). And I couldn't have pushed for 4 hours withour her support and coaching. It was tough but she helped me stay focused.
I highly recommend Megan.

Finding Megan was a blessing for our family. My husband was in search for a postpartum doula after I was unexpectedly hospitalized one month after the birth of our daughter. He needed support, as we do not have any family with children in the area. She was able to look after our daughter and also gave him many useful parenting tips. It was a very stressful time for us as a family, and she was easy to talk to. She also lined up additional doula support for our family on very short notice, as she is well-respected in the doula community. When I was discharged from the hospital, we continued to work with Megan for several more months. She is wonderful and loving with our daughter, and would wear her in a sling to rock her to sleep. (A practice that I soon adopted.) She is still part of our life, and for this I am thankful. I give my highest recommendation to Megan.

Megan is an amazing woman and a fantastic support for women and families of the Bay Area. I got to know her as a postpartum doula and she was very helpful. I also really enjoyed getting to know her. Her passion is birth and she has a lot of knowledge and experience. All three of us (myself, my son and my husband) very much recommend her.
