Our (my husband and I) experience with Uta was excellent. Uta is very informed and conditioned in her abilities as a doula. She was very knowledgeable in almost every subject we presented her with( traditional and non-traditional). During the birth of our son she was very supportive of both parents. She was very in tune of my needs. She makes the experience as personal as you'd like it to be. She is extremely caring. Uta makes her presence known, but lets you set the tone and considers how much care you are asking for or not. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive, experienced doula. I would hire her over and over again! We love her and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be part of such a special journey. :)

I found Uta through a random Doula search. I left a message for Uta and received a prompt response. She is very understanding and a very good listener. Uta was the perfect doula for us. She had some good contacts that were willing to act as a back-up

I was skeptical about Womack Hospital, but Utapointed me towards a local OBGYN that we absolutely LOVED!

Uta was great at helping me stay calm. She had lots of encouraging advice about the progression of this pregnancy and helped me stay positive. My husband and I found Uta very comfortable to work with during practice and delivery.

I notified Uta when I went into labor. When labor signs stopped, Uta was confident they would start back up soon, based on my situation. When labor started again, Uta was available for every phone call and every text. She came over when we felt it was not going to stop. Uta noticed that my contractions were hard to track, as they were very close. She suggested we should leave since it was a long drive.

During labor, Uta was phenomenal! I wouldn't have had the delivery I wanted without Uta. She worked with my needs, as they changed. She was understanding, informative, comforting and so much more. Uta stayed with me until I was out of the delivery room. She took lots of pictures and gave me a detailed summary of my delivery. The next day, when the midwife came to check on me, she asked how I found Uta. She was very impressed and raved about how she was the best doula she'd ever worked with. She said most doula's she's worked with make her wonder why people pay them, but not Uta. She wanted her contact information to pass out to patients when requested. The whole labor and delivery ward was raving about her for days!!
Uta followed up with me during the weeks post delivery and visited with me and my new baby. Our experience with her was amazing. She was the main ingredient to my perfect delivery!

The best decision I made in preparing for the birth of my first child was to hire Uta as my doula. I had large amounts of anxiety about giving birth and to add to that, we would be moving to a new state when I was 8 months along. As a military spouse I was terrified that I would be having a stranger deliver my child who would not care about how I wanted the experience to go. I've heard horrendous stories of "my way or the highway" military doctors. Because I was striving for a natural birth it was very important to me to have someone there who knew what I wanted and would support me if the time came to make decisions on unexpected procedures. During labor, we were presented with the option of a few medical procedures, having Uta's input and knowledge helped us make those decisions and feel confident in what we decided. (Continued below)

(Continued from above) One thing that stuck out to me about Uta was that I never knew what her opinion on a subject was. During pregnancy if I had questions she would present me with huge amounts of information on the subject that would then help me make my own decision. She then supported me whole heartily in whatever I decided. With Uta's expertise I felt excited and ready for the birth of my son (which was a 180 degree flip from the terrified woman I was just a few months prior). Hiring Uta not only supported me before/during labor but also gave my husband a comfort blanket in this very scary life event. He felt that if he was "doing something wrong" or if he freaked out that Uta would be there to fall back on. I would never go unsupported. During labor she would begin a comfort measure (i.e. pour water over my belly in the tub). When she saw that it was helping she then let my husband take over. She knew that I wanted my husband to feel just as much a part of the process as I did. Uta knew exactly when to step in to assist me and when to guide my husband to better assist me. With Uta's help WE achieved my story book birth. I could not have written it any better if I tried! It was perfect. My son was born without medical intervention/medication and I left knowing that I got exactly what I wanted from my birth.

My husband and I live in a different state than our family and my husband travels for his job. I was so afraid of going into labor and being alone that I considered looking for a Doula. I also wanted to have a natural birth, drug free, and use forms of hypnobirthing. My husband and mother are clueless in this department and did not fully understand what I was trying to achieve.  We hired Uta as a back up in case my husband or mother was not here when I went into labor jand as a support system for my natural delivery that I wanted. My pregnancy went past 40 weeks and both my husband and mother was there. The delivery was 36 hours long and ended in a C-Section Uta stayed the entire time and waited with my mother while I was in surgury. We kept telling her to go home and get rest, I felt so bad because no one could have predicted it to be so long, but she stayed and helped and gave emotional support to all of us. I met with Uta twice before I went into labor. She was very helpful, has a lot of resources, and is very knowlegable in just about every aspect of pregnancy and labor. She is very willing to work with you to see that your wishes are granted and that your delivery is just the way you want it to be. Uta is a kind, compassionate, woman and would be a great support system for any woman during her delivery.
