I cannot express the gratitude that I have for Ann, but let me try.... She was there every single step of the way of my pregnancy and labor, from answering my daunting and ridiculous questions, to rubbing my feet during the wee hours of the morning during labor (you never would have guessed she was going on 24 plus hours of no sleep!). This was my first child, and I had no idea what to expect. Even though I took as many classes as possible and was as prepared as I possibly could have been, nothing can prepare you; that being said, Ann was there every single step of the way to offer loving help, guidance, encouargement and advice. She was SO encouraging and supportive. She gave me that extra power and hope when I needed it most. It was extremely comforting and reassuring knowing that she was there to help with absolutely everything, and that she already knew what to expect. I've never had another doula, as this was my first child, but she was the doula of my dreams! My 'dance of birth' of course did not go as planned, but she was a constant sense of love and comfort. She made me feel as though I was the only thing that mattered. She knew just when to make me drink, and when to have me get in the shower or when to walk, when to shut off the lights, and knew exactly what oils to burn to keep my room smelling like "a spa" (as the nurses said).  I knew I chose the right doula when at the end of my labor, my very doula-skeptical partner turned to her and said, "Ann, you ROCK!"!! And besides her amazing, god-given doula abilites, she has a truly awesome and sweet personality. She and I shared many memories and laughs together, and I will be forever and ever grateful.

Ann has been and continues to be an incredible support for our family. Our relationship started in birthing class, evolved through prenatal visits, peaked during our home birth and now, is ongoing during postpartum support. In birthing class, Ann provided a wealth of knowledge about what to expect during pregnancy and labor, including pain management techniques, without instilling fear in her pupils. During labor, Ann made myself and my husband feel safe and comforted, supporting us both in the ways that we needed to be supported. At a recent postpartum visit, Ann brought us lactation cookies, just one of many personal touches that make us feel loved and cared for. Ann will always be a beloved character in baby Fiona's birth story and we wish all of her future clients happy and healthy deliveries!! <3

We met Ann on a Tueday night about 4 weeks before my due date. We instantly loved her and were excited about the possibility of working with her. On Friday morning, just days after meeting her, my water broke! I called Ann on our way to the hospital and asked if she was available to be my support. Without any hesitation, Ann was there.

I was not mentally ready to give birth yet and both my husband and I were nervous about my going into labor so early. Ann was so wonderful. Her presence was calming and reassuring. I barely knew Ann but I felt so comfortable with her; I really truly felt like I had known Ann for a long time. Ann helped me stay relaxed through massage (amazing!) and aromatherapy (so wonderful!) - according to the nurses, I had the best smelling room in the hospital! Ann helped me through each stage of labor and helped me fulfill my wish for a pain med free childbirth. Ann did not rush off following my son's birth. She stayed to make sure that we were all okay, she spoke with our families, and helped me get cleaned up.

I had such an amazing birth experience and Ann was a huge part of it! She knew exactly what to do to help me get through the tough contractions and reassured both me and my husband as my labor progressed. Both my husband and I can not even begin to imagine how the day would have gone without Ann there to support us.  I am so grateful for all that she did for us that day!  We highly recommend Ann!

Mountain Mama Doula - Ann Tohill is the best!  I researched a doula, for post partum support after my third child.  My husband & I hadn't used a doula before and weren't really sure what to expect.  Ann made the initital trip to visit, discuss our needs and how she could best support us, and I was sold.  I was very excited about the help she was able to provide.  She came once a week to prepare meals for us.  She would prep some of the meal at home, bring it, involve my daughters in making the meals, hold my son while we ate, and the best part was she cleaned and put away everything when we were finished.  We all looked forward to the nights when Ann was here - she became another member of the family for the night. Her calm demeanor and patience was a relief for me. I would highly recommend Ann to anyone looking for a doula.
