Even though my birth plan went according to plan it was extremely helpful and reassuring to have courtney both as an extra set of helping hands and a knowledgeable and caring voice as a support in the room.  Courtney was helpful in guiding my husband through the labor process as well.   I would highly recommend courtney as a doula for other Expecting moms.

Courtney was an absolutely amazing support throughout my pregnancy and birthing experience.  I was lucky to find her early on in my pregnancy and she was always availble through phone and email to answer any questions I had and would always provide the research behind all of her advice.  She helped us to create a birth plan that we were comfortable with and gave us advice on all of the aspects of pregnancy and labor that were new to us as first time parents.

I cannot imagine going through what ended up being a very trying and difficult labor and delivery without Courtney.  She was there to support me every step of the way, in the weeks leading up to labor, came to our home to help us through the early stages, helped guide my husband through the best ways to support me, and was invaluable with her support of my plan for an all natural birth, even when I was extremely unsure about my plan and abilities.  Courtney's knowledge of the Rebozo method and different natural birthing techniques and positions made the most difficult parts of my labor easier to get through.  She was able to help us navigate some  tricky situations with hospital staff in the delivery room with tact and poise.

Especially in dealing with unexpected complications, Courtney went above and beyond.  After labor, both myself and my baby faced some pretty serious health crises, and Courtney remained with us every step of the way to offer caring and support.  She even came to visit us in the NICU and checked in by phone every day to make sure we were doing okay.

I feel honored and blessed that Courtney was a part of our birth story.  We are so lucky to have had her wisdom, kind spirit, and peaceful presence with us on our journey to becoming parents.

Courtney Hoyle is a special, gifted, amazing Doula.

As a husband, I had my reservations about sharing a birth experience with someone other than my wife, but I am so happy and thankful that Courtney was there for her support, assistance and wisdom.

A little history...My wife was unable to deliver our first child naturally as she had so desperately wanted, and after a good 40+ hours our daughter was delivered by C-section. Of course, the blessing of a healthy baby, trumped any feelings of disappointment, but it was a long recovery for my wife, it was clear to me that she felt like she had failed, when in reality she couldn't have done anymore.

When our second child was due to be born and my wife decided she wanted to give a natural birth another shot (V-BAC), I was nervous, but also a little fearful of a similar result, and to be honest was almost preparing myself for a similar outcome. Despite that fear, I wasn't convinced that having a doula present was going help as much as my wife thought, and I wasn't sure I wanted to share that experience with another person. I couldn'tve been more wrong!!

Courtney was an incredibly calming influence throughout..... when my wife's confidence in her ability to persevere without pain  mgmt begain to wain, Courtney was gentle but assertive and helped my wife regain control. She was very knowledgeable and had lots of ideas to keep things moving.

At the hospital, the nurse in our room was staring at the monitor as if something terrible was about to happen, but Courtney constantly encouraged and just had such a calming aura. She was assertive but also sensitive to our needs and took a step back when I needed to be there to encourage my wife.

I am so thankful for Courtney. My wife was so empowered delivering our little man Hugo (9 pounds 6) naturally. Such a contrast to our previous birth experience!

Courtney is absolutely amazing! What an immense blessing it was to have her as our doula. We decided to seek a doula based on the recommendation of friends who had used doulas during their birth. My main goal was to have someone help me to manage the pain so that I could have a natural birth, and to have someone to advocate/help explain things to me, so as to avoid unecessary interventions. Courtney completely exceeded our expectations. She is incredibly warm, strong, patient, and a wonderful Christian woman. During the prenatal visits, she immediately felt like an old friend, and I was totally comfortable with her from the start. She helped put my husband and I at ease and had lots of great suggestions for ways to prepare ourselves for the birth. During labor, she was a rock -- she helped me feel that I could continue on without pain meds and she helped explain what was happening during the entire process -- both in terms of what my body was doing and what the medical staff was saying to us. Of course the nurses were very nice, but it was great to have Courtney as she really felt like she was on our side -- our advocate, personal cheerleader, and prayer partner. I wondered how it would be to have a doula and my husband during labor, as I didn't want my husband to feel like he had been replaced! But Courtney was just great -- she complimented our team and helped my husband help me. After the birth, she was so wonderful about checking in on us even after we had left the hospital. I honestly cannot imagine having anyone else as our doula. I would recommend her enthusiastically to anyone!

Birthing with Courtney was an amazing experience. It was so obvious to my husband and I that this is her calling in life and one of her greatest passions. She was so caring, so confident, and such a positive influence for me as I was going through the worst pain of my life. She kept me going when I wanted to give up. I was able to have a natural labor and she is one of the main reasons I was able to do it! When I felt like I couldn't go on, she would encourage me and suggest another position or strategy. Sometimes it was as simple as her holding me up and locking eyes with me as we counted to 10. Othertimes she would massage me to release the tension, or have me sway back and forth on a peanut ball, etc, etc. Whatever it was at that moment, Courtney was able to be fully present with me in those moments of intensity and help me maintain my focus. She is incredibly perceptive and observant and was always looking for ways to empower my husband as my birth coach and suggest things he could do to help me. Because she is so well-informed, I felt so confident knowing she was going to be there to help me labor. My husband and I completely trust her, and we feel there's no way we can fully re-pay her for how she cared for us throughout the pregnancy and labor process! This was our first child and knowing what we do now, we will NEVER birth without the help of a doula!

Courtney Hoyle was an incredible help to me during my pregnancy, labor, and delivery. During the pregnancy, she was quick to respond with evidence-based information whenever I had questions or concerns and she met with me on various occassions to teach my husband and I effective techniques to help ease pain during labor. During my extremely long labor, she was a constant source of emotional, physical, and spiritual strength to me and my husband. She coached me through every single contraction with gentleness and calmness, which helped me remain calm the entire time. She helped me work through all the confusion and frustration when things weren't going the way I planned, and even stayed with me during my unexpected C-Section. I couldn't have done it without her and will be eternally grateful for the support she provided at such an intense, emotional and beautiful time in my life!

I can't say enough about Courtney.  Our experience with her as our doula was more of a blessing than we could have ever asked for.  She was so supportive and knowledgeable I can't imagine not having had her!  This was my first birth and I always say now that I was so lucky to have her for it that I will have no choice but to have her for my future births.  She was very thorough and covered everything from my first trimester symptoms through postpartum questions, and we gained so much knoweldge throughout the process.  Courtney never left a question unanswered and was there anytime we needed her, whether for some simple advice on the phone or coming to our home in the middle of the night when I was about to die from labor...(or so I thought :) ).  Her emotional and physical support throughout the labor helped me to last for 50 something hours before getting an epidural, and I know I would have not made it nearly that long without her help.  She walked me through the days after the birth from what would happen physically, to breastfeeding and even bringing us a meal.  She really added so much to this incredible 9 month process, I would absolutely recommend her and am so thankful to her!
