I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mary! I decided about 3 weeks before my due date that I wanted to use a Doula. I called Mary and she agreed to meet with my husband and I that Sunday evening to go over her services and birthing plan. Normally she spreads this out over two visits but because I was due so soon (and convinced I was going to go into labor early) she made a point to see us right away.

I did go into labor early... a whole week. Mary helped me identify my birthing plan and why I wanted certain things and not others. While she cannot give medical advise she is very good at pointing out both sides of a situation and encouraging me to do more research and I am SOOOO glad I did! I was in labor for 31.5 hours! I kept dilating further and then stopping so we had to do lunges, squats, walking and more.... Mary happily stayed with me and held my hand through it all! Just about every part of my birthing plan was changed due to complications and after 3.5 hours of pushing I went into emergency C-section. It was so helpful having her there to discuss decisions as they were happening.

Mary is very matter-of-fact and to the point which I appreciate. I am not the type that needs the “love and snuggles”… I need the straight truth and to feel like things are getting accomplished. That is exactly what Mary provided. She made sure my plan was respected, that I had what I needed and that the right questions were asked through the process. I cannot thank Mary enough and I would HIGHLY recommend her for those women who want a Duala who knows how to get things done! I didn’t know if I really needed a Duala but in hindsight I can say I am sooooo glad Mary was there. I was much more confident about the decisions I was forced to make in the moment because I had her years of experience to contribute to the discussions to help me make those hard calls.

Mary is amazing! We had great experience with her. Starting from the interview and throughout the last postpartum visit she was always on time, very well organized, made us feel like we were a true #1 priority to her. She consulted and supported us with all our choices before, during and after the delivery of our precious baby boy. As it often happens, the birth preferences had to be changed during the birth, and that can be pretty discouraging, however Mary made me feel comfortable with all the choices and that support is invaluable! Mary is very knowledgeable and passionate about everything childbirth. I think, she would be a great midwife! My husband and I recommend Mary to everybody who is looking for a doula! She will make your birth experience much more enjoyable!

My wife and I met Mary two years ago.  It has always been very apparent that she has a very profound passion for assisting and supporting those going through the childbirth process.  Three months ago my wife and I had our second child.  We did not have a doula for the birth our first daughter, as we did when we had Mary in the birth of our second daughter.  Initially when my wife said that she would like to have Mary assist us, I was very uneasy about having someone being part of the delivery that was not family.  I wanted my wife to be as comfortable as possible, so we did ask mary to be our Doula.  This was one of the best decisions that we have ever made.  The delivery experiences were vastly different.  I cannot even begin to express the extent to which Mary helped prepare, assisted, reassured, calmed, comforted, and just plain facilitated the whole birth.  Making it a flawless, stress-free, calm, comfortable delivery for both of us.  She was always (and continues to be) available to answer any and all of our questions.  As a man in this process, Mary made me feel much more involved than I felt with the birth of my first child.   She walked me through and explained every detail that arose during the delivery.  Having this knowledge as things are happening, made me feel as though i was part of the delivery not just a spectator and helped me comfort my wife more effectively.  The benefit of her support for both myself and my wife was immeasurable.  We cannot thank her enough for providing for us the most perfect delivery of our beautiful daughter!

I met with Mary when I was 16 weeks pregnant.   I had never heard of a doula before and wasn't sure I needed one.  She was very informative and provided lots of literature on what she does for expectant mothers.  I knew I would need extra support since I am a single mom and even though my parents are here to also be supportive.. I needed someone who was NOT a parent.  We met several times throughout and I could text her with any questions or concerns I had any time of day!  When the time came she was right there for me and met me and my parents at the hospital.  I was only in labor for about 9 hours.. but it started at 3 in the morning She was bright eyed and bushy tailed and most importantly kept me calm.  She reassured me everything was going to be ok and to BREATHE. I swear if she wasn't there.. I would have forgotten to breathe!  She stayed after my baby was born to make sure everything was ok and to help with breastfeeding. We still keep in touch a month later!  I would definitely recommend Mary as a doula!!  Love her!

I've known Mary for years and when she decided she wanted to be a doula I knew she would be perfect for birthing mothers. I could tell it was a genuine passion of hers. Mary stayed with my husband and I for almost 25 hours. I was in labor for 23 hours. I went into labor early saturday morning and once I called mary she was at the hospital within an hour or so. Given that wr lived about an hour or so away from her she got there very quickly. She stayed with us till Emma was born the next morning. We went through being admitted, to being released, to walking several miles, and then being admitted again. She stayed with us overnight in the hospital and was right by my side along with my husband. She stayed for a couple hours after Emma was born but only left because she had another birth to attend. She did a wonderful job as a doula and answered all my questions. She was very supportive through all my emotions and worries. She was very organized and provided a folder with a lot of informative papers. I was able to text her whenever I had questions and when I was nearing full te she would check on me to see how I was doing.  It was nice to know she put so much effort into something she's so passionate about. I would definitely recommend Mary as your doula!
