We are so thankful for having found Kayoko having her guide us through our journey with our first child. My husband and I moved to Seattle and were originally looking for some help with our new baby after he was born. We found Kayoko through doulamatch.com and based on her prior reviews, decided to contact her regarding her birthing, and after birth services. Kayoko is very responsive and communicative.As my husband and I are first time parents, we honestly did not know anything about the birth process. Kayoko visited us three times in our home for birthing preparation classes. She creates a calm, and comfortable environment during these one on one visits. We felt safe to ask all our silly questions, and try different exercises in our home with Kayoko.

The morning of my contractions, I texted Kayoko right away, and she met us at our hospital once I was through laboring at home. She knew exactly how to set up our room, and what to ask for from the nurses. Our baby was head down but face up (sunny side up) when I arrived at the hospital and she helped us spin our baby into the correct birthing position, face down, head down by guiding me through different positions and stretches.

My labor lasted for 22 hours. Kayoko massaged me, encouraged me, made sure I was eating and drinking and most importantly, helped me control my breathing. I am so thankful we got a doula. My husband would not have known to do any of these things to help me labor even after the classes. She barely took any breaks for herself and prioritized my well being during this time.After our baby was finally born, Kayoko was there to help us take our first family photos and to assist me with breastfeeding.

After we were discharged, Kayoko came to our home to help us clean and help us get climatized with our new baby. We have no reservations, and highly recommend Kayoko. We would without hesitation reach out to her again in the future if we have another baby.

As first time parents, we had zero knowledge on how to take care of a newborn when our baby arrived. It was all about exhaustion and panic when we had the tiny baby crying all the time without knowing what to do. Kay's magic helped our baby stop crying and us learn how to figure out baby's needs. She provided like-mom care to not only the baby but also myself. We learned A LOT from Kay and started to build confidence when applying her technique taking care of the baby. It was really the right call to hire Kay as our postpartum doula and we will definitely hire her again if we have a second child in the future.

You should absolutely hire Kay as your doula. Here's our experience working with her:

In fall 2021, we decided to hire a doula for our late Feb 2022 expected delivery. As first-time parents new to the area, we wanted an experienced, supportive person who could help guide us through pregnancy, delivery, and post-birth. Kay was everything we were looking for, and we had a great feeling talking to her on the initial video call. Our goal was to have a straight-forward natural birth, and she prepared us for that, but she also prepared us for the off-chance of things went south. Well, it did - but we didn't have to go through it alone.

Our son's birth ended up being a 40+ hour labor culminating in an emergency C-section. We will never forget how much of a rock she was for us in that very trying time. Kay was extremely calm, steady, and reassuring, constantly present and tuned in, and had incredible endurance. Her years of experience was evident through it all, and she gelled well with the labor nurses at Overlake.

After this exhausting experience, we were fortunate to have her additional help through her post-partum services in the following weeks.

Looking back now, four months later, it's thankfully a blur, and our son is active, happy, and healthy. But what we will never forget is how outstanding Kay was for us in that crazy period. This is somebody who is both professional, knowledgable, and competent, but also down-to-earth, kind, and friendly. There's so many good doulas in the Seattle area but we can wholeheartedly recommend as an excellent doula.

We hired Kay as a post-partum doula (we had already hired a birth doula by the time we met her). Our experience with Kay was wonderful and more than we could have hoped for. We learned a ton from Kay and we would have gladly continued working with her if she'd had more availability (we were a little late to the game in finding post-partum support and she had existing clients!). 

Kay is timely, kind, informative, observant and highly professional, but not without a personal touch. Kay was incredible at supporting us and our daughter through her 6 weeks.  Even in a short time, our daughter visibly built a strong bond with Kay.  an educational standpoint Kay taught us techniques to better bathe, burp, breastfeed, and soothe our daughter that we continue to use and pass on to friends.  She is truly an expert in her field. 

We cannot more highly recommend Kay as a doula!

Overall our experience with Kay has been extremely positive, better than what we could have imagined. She is extremely professional and an expert in her field. She has an incredible wealth of knowledge and continues to stay up to date on anything and everything baby-related!

We used all of her services – birth doula, placenta encapsulation, postpartum support, and infant massage - and would highly recommend them all!

This is our first child and my husband and I were hesitant to spend money on a doula because it was difficult to understand the benefits without having gone through pregnancy and post-partum before. However, looking back we both agree that it was well worth the money and for baby #2 we will continue to use Kay for all services. In our household, we refer to her as the “baby whisper” and for a good reason - Kay has an innate ability to understand a baby’s verbal and non-verbal ques. The greatest gift Kay gave us is the ability to communicate with our daughter. For example recognizing her different cries - when she is tired vs. hungry, ect.

Outside of baby education, Kay has personally provided me as the “mommy” with so much support that I really needed. Whether it was someone to talk to, ask questions – is this normal?, or help me establish routines and best practices – Kay was always there with an answer.

One thing I learned is that every mother deserves someone like Kay to support them and their family.
