First time mom and Eva was my Doula. I am a physician and was very nervous with pregnancy and delivery. I ended up with a C-section, and Eva was amazing in supporting me through the process and acting as a sounding board. She stayed with me a night at the hospital so that my husband could get some sleep. She also helped me extensively with breastfeeding. She was an advocate and eased a lot of anxiety. She is so lovely to chat with and be around I feel like I have known her for years. I would recommend her in an instant.
Eva was an amazing person to have present at the birth of our baby and in the days/weeks afterwards. She is strong, caring, and confidence-boosting. Highly recommended if you want straightforward, compassionate, knowledgeable, kind care and support during your birth and post-partum.
We had a wonderful experience with Eva as our doula during labour and birth of our second child. She suggested some labouring positions which helped turn the baby and we were able to go ahead with a natural childbirth.
My message to Eva after our son was born pretty much sums up our feelings. We HIGHLY recommend her doula services, and above that she is a nice person to know.
Eva - Your guidance today was splendid. Heather and I were talking about how your support and coaching made the birth such a success. We felt lucky to have such a wonderful team- the doctor, nurses, and you (me too!). Based on our last experience, I knew Heather could handle this, but I know she had doubts about her capabilities. You really kept her grounded, focused, informed, and safe. Couldn't have asked for a better birth!
Eva attended my son's birth in November 2014. Eva provided very comprehensive support, before, during and after the birth. We met several times to discuss my birth plan (a home water birth), and she asked very insightful questions about how I wanted and needed to be supported. She also helped me understand and navigate the potential for hospital induction as I neared 41 weeks of pregnancy.
My labour was only 4 hours long but was very intense! Eva provided *amazing* coaching during rapidly escalating contractions during active labour and transition - I could not have handled the intensity wihtout her! She worked with my midwives and family/friends to help me deliver Charlie in the pool, in my home. Right after the birth, she helped me get Charlie latched and feeding, and then visited me at home several times to help with breastfeeding and all kinds of other advice.
Eva, I cannot thank you enough for helping bring Charlie into the world!
We decided to hire a doula to help us through the birth of our first baby. We met Eva through the Mothering Touch Centre when we attended our birthing class there. She met with us a few times before the birth to get to know us and our preferences. We were very anxious and it helped a lot in terms of feeling more organized and prepared. The labour was painful and ran into complications - essentially, Eva made it possible for us to get through what could have otherwise been a really traumatic experience and look back on it positively. Afterward, we feel she truly went above and beyond to make us feel supported and ensure we were coping well at home. At our last meeting she gave us a printed copy of the birth story which she had recorded - I'm not sure if other doulas do this but we thought it was a great keepsake for us. Overall we feel honoured to have worked with Eva - she truely is the guru of all things mothering in Victoria and we're looking forward to continuing our friendship with her as our daughter grows up here. We have consistently said that working with Eva was the best money we have spent throughout our pregnancy experience. We are so lucky and thankful for everything she's done for us. We would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!
I love sharing about my doula experience – I know that the birth of both my children (one home birth, one hospital birth) would have been a lot scarier and more stressful. It was incredibly valuable to have someone in the room that, one, had experienced labour herself, two, was an advocate for me and my needs, and three, was able to support my husband in supporting me. Eva helped me find my voice when I was scared to say what I needed, she helped my find my strength and power when I thought I and given all I had. I know not all doulas are created equal and I am certain I had the very best doula in the world! I always tell people it was the best money I have ever spent. I am forever grateful.
Eva's wealth of knowledge, passion for her role as a Doula and strength and guidance through my birth experience were invaluable. My husband and I are so incredibly grateful to Eva for everything she has done for us. During our initial meetings, she asked critical questions in order to get to know us better and help her determine exactly what I would need during my birth experience. I felt very prepared for various scenarios, and with each update I gave her on my condition leading up to birth, Eva provided thorough information, advice and guidance.
Eva was my rock throughout, and I couldn't have done it without her. My labour was early and came on fast and imcredibly strong; Eva was there for me every step of the way. She adapted to my every need, and did so without me having to ask. She also was excellent at encouraging and supporting my husband too!
I sincerely appreciate Eva's never wavering support and encouragement, even when I felt overwhelmed and discouraged, whether during birth or afterward with breastfeeding. The ulimited access you get to Eva and her expertise in both birth and newborn care is truly invaluable.
I would absolutely recommend Eva as a Doula and will certainly have her be a part of our next experience as our family grows.
I quite honestly cannot imagine having had my baby without Eva! There isn't space enough here for all of the positive things I could say about the experience. Ahead of the labour she took a great deal of care and time to assist with composing the birth plan and relieving my husband and mine’s anxieties as first time parents. During labour her presence was calm, reassuring, and steadfast. When I was sent home from the hospital during early labour she sat by my bedside for three hours as I transitioned into active labour. I ended up with a natural, drug-free delivery and, frankly, I was overwhelmed by the pain. Eva was literally my shoulder to lean on as she suggested positions to lessen my physical discomfort and to keep my spirits up. Following the birth of my son I was confronted with a series of issues that made breastfeeding very challenging. Eva visited us at home frequently and I have no doubt that I would not now be successfully breastfeeding my son had it not been for her constant counsel and check-ins. Eva brings warmth, wit, and wisdom to all her interactions - I would recommend her without hesitation.

Hiring Eva as a doula was the best part of my birth plan. She took the time beforehand to cover all possible scenarios and established tactics to overcome obstacles. I was quite anxious at the onset of my labour, but she calmly set the tone for the rest of my labour and delivery. She was incredibly intuative and was able to correctly predict what I needed and when I needed it. Not only was she able to coach me and guide me to the birth I desired, she was able to keep my husband calm - which was a feat unto itself! After my baby was born, Eva made frequent house calls to make sure mama and babe were doing well and offered her breadth of knowledge about breast feeding. My midwife said Eva was the best, and she was right! Can't recommend her highly enough.
