This was our second time hiring Rosemarie, and I am certain I would never want to experience labor without her! She is incredibly kind, compassionate, wise, and helpful. When she arrived at the hospital, I immediately felt at ease and knew I would be able to deliver my baby in the best possible way. I was able to deliver both of my daughters without an epidural, and Rosemarie is the reason behind that. She is the best coach you could ask for, and she truly becomes a friend! Thank you Rosemarie!!
Rosemarie was our doula for all 3 of my children's births. The services she provides are invaluable and I cannot imagine laboring without her by my side. I don’t think my thankful words do her work justice; but I’ll try my best to relay how amazing my family and I believe she is. During pregnancy, she was always available for any questions or concerns we had and talked both my husband and I though our anxieties. She never let us feel like we were alone and I never felt judged. She makes you feel as if you can do anything. She was also our Lamaze teacher for our first child. She’s a wealth of knowledge about birth and evidence based practices. You can tell she does her job because she genuinely loves supporting and empowering women to have their best birth possible. She has an uncanny intuition that almost feels like magic. She seems to know exactly what you need at the right time. She’s honest and trustworthy. She proves she’s on your side and will help you advocate for yourself when necessary. And, she is there for you if things don’t go quite the way you expected. She has so much compassion and years of experience that you believe her when she says “you CAN do this.” I recommend her every time someone is looking for a doula or childbirth educator. There’s just no one else like her.
I had an amazing birth experience and I credit Rosemarie for it. I came to her desperately wanting to Vbac. Rosemarie was very informative and patient answering my questions. On the day of delivery she was everything she promised to be and more. I had a successful vbac thanks to her. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a professional, caring, and experienced doula!
Rosemarie was just amazing!! She was always available before our birth to talk and answer questions and calm my nerves! When it was time to have the baby, she was right there with us. She controlled the environment of our hospital room so that we all felt very calm and focused. Her knowledge and experience gave us the confidence we needed to trust my body's ability to deliver naturally. We were thrilled to achieve the natural birth we were hoping for!
Rosemarie was excellent! She takes her work very seriously and is incredibly good at what she does. She is warm, caring and patient. She made my labor and birth experience a very postiive one. I can't say enough good things about her. I highly recommend her to all my friends. I could not have done it without her !!!
After interviewing Rosemarie, my husband and I had an immeidiate connection with her and we chose her to be our doula att the birth of our first child. We also took our childbirth class with her and had an amazing time. it was a small intimate group and she opened up her home to us. She was always available when we had questions. Our plan was always to have a home birth. In the last weeks of my pregnancy those plans changed when I was found to have some hypertention. Rosemarie has comforting words for me and helped us through the motions of preparing for a hospital birth. Our daughter came sooner than expected and my labor was progressing quickly. Rosemarie arrived right when we needed her. She helped comfort me through many of my contractions by massaging me, providing me with fluids or kind encouraging words, whatever I seemed to need at the moment. She also gave my husband support and guidance and a breack when he needed. It was so helpful to have her there. She reminded me to change positions and was there to hold my hand. Having a women there with me throughout my labor was a strong force and bond that helped me throughout the experience. My mother wasnt able to be there but Rosemarie made me feel at ease. She also documented some amazing moments through photographs for us. Looking back, it wasn't my plan to deliver at a hospital but I had an amazing birth just the way I wanted, without much intervention. If we decide on having more children, I would definately use her again!
We sought a well-experienced doula who would help advocate, and optimize our success for a VBAC. Knowing Rosemarie was an accomplished doula, having attended and assisted in a significant number of pregnancies/deliveries, we were confident that we chose the right person. Though we only had a 5-hour labor and delivery, her attentive skills in helping to quickly recognize and facilitate our progress through the intensity of a rapid labor, helped my husband and myself stay focused. Rosemarie was sensitive, reassuring, and encouraging throughout our time as her clients. Because we were forthcoming with her, and made her aware of what our personal expectations and convictions were with regard to our pregnancy and delivery, she was able to petition for our pregnancy and advocate accordingly for us, with our Provider. In addition, her personal philosophy of childbirth lined up very well with our provider’s, which made the labor room a productive environment for childbirth. Furthermore, she was very responsive and always available to answer any questions or concerns that arose throughout our pregnancy. The extra layer of support she provided was beyond our expectations, and only made our support team even stronger. We would without reservation and with strong recommendation endorse Rosemarie as a doula to support any labor-delivery. In part because of Rosemarie's efforts, we were successful in having a VBAC for our second child.
I'm so glad we had Rosemarie at the birth of our 2nd baby. Being my second birth, I knew what to expect but I still had moments where I fellt birth was too much to handle or I couldn't do it anymore. Rosemarie helped talk me off that ledge and helped me to feel confident in myself and my body's ability to birth. Her presence there and her comforting words were what I needed to get through it all. She's compassionate, loving and so knowledgeable. She's got cool doula tricks to help with the intensity of contractions and worked so well with my midwife and husband. We'll definitely hire her again if we're blessed with another child. Both my husband and older daughter (3 years old) loved her as well.
For the first half of my pregnancy, I was unsure if I wanted and/or needed a doula. I had read Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, and was leaning towards attempting a natural birth, but I didn't think I would do well with a doula. I tend to be stubborn and hate being told what to do. I also like my privacy and thought I wouldn't enjoy having someone in the room with my husband and I the entire time. We ended up hiring Rosemarie, even though I was still a little uncertain, because I knew my husband would be lost in the delivery room without some help.
Boy, were all my original feelings on having a doula wrong. I would have been completely lost and probably very afraid without the support and guidance we received from Rosemarie. She was crucial in keeping us calm and confident during early labor. She helped us labor at home as long as possible with help over the phone. As soon as we were all in the delivery room together, she knew exactly what to do to make me feel as comfortable as possible during contractions and my periods of rest. I progressed to 9cm very quickly, and though I was in pain and probably could've received an epidural for the remainder of my labor, Rosemarie helped me carry on with an unmedicated birth. She suggested very helpful positions for pushing that made a huge difference in bringing the baby down. I never would've found the energy or motivation to try these positions without her. She was also extremely helpful with breastfeeding once Louisa was born.
Hiring Rosemarie was the best decision we could've made for the birth of our daughter. My concerns about having someone in the room with us were gone instantly. You create such a bond with the person helping you meet your child. There was such a level of comfort and ease among Rosemarie, my husband and myself. The second our daughter was born, my husband shouted to Rosemarie, "we'll be seeing you next time!!". He's absolutely right!
I was very unsure about hiring a doula until I met Rosemarie. Her knowledge and expertise impressed me right away and I quickly decided that I wanted someone like her by my side during my birthing experience. As a first time mom, I was very nervous about labor and delivery and Rosemarie was a very strong calming force throughout the whole thing. From placing cotton balls with lavender on my shoulders to coaching me through every contraction, she was there every step of the way. My labor progressed very quickly and once it came time to push she encouraged me and helped me to get into different positions to speed things along. Overall, my experience with Rosemarie was very positive and I would recommend her to anyone.
I had the pleasure of having Rosemarie as my doula for the birth of my b/g twins, my first babies. Leading up to the birth I attended a series of classes led by Rosemarie which definitely helped me understand the process and prepare me for childbirth and breastfeeding immediately after. The twins did not want to hop out on their own, so by 39 weeks I was induced in the hospital. After early labor under cervadil in the hospital, Rosemarie joined me in the wee hours of morning and provided her amazing support with encouragement and tips and tricks to keep things progressing and my energy levels high. We walked the halls and I bathed in the room's tub and shower. Since my contractions did not continue, I had to receive pitocin twice up to the highest level, which led me to needing 3 epidurals since the first two failed. Unphased by the long hours, Rosemarie was there every step of the way and braced my shoulders as I received the epidurals, and kept supporting me through the breakthrough pain from the failed ones. After 42 hours of labor, my dilation stalled and I needed to go to C-section. Rosemarie would have been in the OR with me if allowed but she patiently waited until the babies and I were in the recovery room, where she got my two newborns to latch and nurse for the first time. Amazing!! It was a very difficult labor process and I don't think I would have been able to get through it (at least not without therapy!) without the support of Rosemarie. I am super grateful and would hire her again in an instant.
We cannot express how much Rosemarie's support, knowledge, and expertise helped us to achieve the birth we envisioned. She provided emotional support and created a loving environment so that I could feel safe and protected during my birthing process. When I found out I had to be induced, I was very nervous and thought i couldn't achieve my natural birth but Rosemarie was our guide throughout and helped me continue through the more challenging times with pitocin. She supported my husband and enabled him to be there for me without having to know or recall exactly what to do next to meet my needs. I would highly recommend Rosemarie for any birthing mom or couple!
I can honestly say that having Rosemarie as part of our birth team made all the difference in the world! It was important to my husband and I that we try for a VBAC for the birth of our second daughter after we experienced an unplanned c-section with our first child. I decided that an unmedicated/natural birth was the way to go this time. Rosemarie’s knowledge, confidence and continuous support took away any fear or doubt I had in my mind. She helped with pain management techniques, kept me informed as to what stage of labor we were in and offered suggestions for the best positions to keep labor moving forward. I honestly don’t think we would have had as positive a birth experience without her. Her calming presence was also reassuring to my husband and allowed him to focus on the birth process with confidence. If we have another child, I will definitely work with Rosemarie again and highly recommend her!

My husband and I attended Rosemarie's childbirth classes, used her as our doula during my homebirth, and also rented a birthing pool from her. I also did a breastfeeding class with her and she provided a lot of breastfeeding support to me over the phone in the weeks following the birth of my baby. My husband and I learned a lot during the childbirth classes, and were very happy to have her support during our birth. She provided me with encouragement and kept me moving to help my labor progress, and she helped my husband understand how he could support me when I was in pain. Additionally, Rosemarie took pictures during our birth and made them into a keepsake book for us. This was so meaningful to me since I was "in a zone" and my memories of that day are foggy. I am very glad that we worked with Rosemarie and we would highly recommend her to other couples.
I had a lot of anxiety about the birthing process, even with classes (which Rosemarie offers) and abundant reading I was quite anxious about the possibility of a C-Section. I am a first time mom in my early forties, after years of trying the actuality of pregnancy and birth came as a surprise, and as long as I had to prepare - I wasn't mentally prepared at all!
What helped me the most with Rosemarie was the knowledge that she would be there for me when I needed the support (mentally and physically) that she could give. My husband is wonderful, he does well under pressure and in medical scenarios, but this being his first child also, it was comforting to know that we had someone who had been through so many births (nearly 300 at the time she helped us).
After a lengthy process (almost a week) of issues caused by high blood pressure where we were in the hospital, induced, failed induction, sent home for 2 days and then were brought back in and induced again. Rosemarie was very supportive and encouraged natural delivery very strongly (which I greatly appreciated since that was the way I wanted to go) but when I stopped progressing and it was extremely medically necessary, Rosemarie agreed (I was ready at this point to have my baby safely any way we had to) that a C-Section was the way to go.
Rosemarie was very sensitive to all of my requests and eased my mind in the weeks leading up to the delivery of our beautiful daughter. I highly recommend her services if you are looking to hire a doula or take classes leading up to your delivery.
We were very satisfied with our decision to hire Roe to assist during my wife's birth. Since we had her there, we felt more prepared. Roe is very knowlegable and was able to provide us with suggestions to ask the nurses and doctors. In one such situation, she suggested a procedure which greatly relieved my wife of pain and sped the birth along (must note that my wife chose to forgo an epidural or pain intervention). Roe knew strategies that helped my wife's labor progress and also kept her as comfortable as possible. As the father, it also brought comfort to me and eased some of my worries.
During the labor and birthing process, the nurse staff comes in and out of the room. It was incredibly reassuring and comforting to know we had someone with experience that stayed with us the WHOLE TIME during my wife's 42 hour labor in the hospital. Even before arriving at the hospital for our 42 hour stay, Roe came to our home to check on my wife and do exercises with her as she labored at home before heading out to the hospital. Prior to coming to our home, Roe was availble to us via phone calls and texts. That said, Roe helped us through my wife's whole labor and birth, which truly lasted 5 days! My wife and I were very thankful to have her there with us and would make the same decision if we could travel back in time and do it all over again!
After a traumatic birth experience with my first baby, I knew the next time had to be different. I did my research, chose a new OBGYN, and decided to hire a doula. Through some mutual friends from church, my husband and I heard about Rosemarie. Rosemarie and I first discussed my birth preferences and experience over the phone. From our first conversation, I knew Roe was put in my life for this purpose. My husband and I then took one of her birth classes and met privately a few weeks later. Through our conversations, Rosemarie knew how important it was for me to have a healing experience. From the time I went into labor to an hour or so after I gave birth (natural VBAC!), Rosemarie was there to support my husband and me. She gave me strength when I felt discouraged and kept me moving to get the baby in the best position for birth. The emotional and physical support was exactly what my husband and I needed. My family is blessed to have had this experience with Rosemarie.
To whom this may concern ,
Rosemaire was beyond worth the investment. Her support and contribition to my brith process can't be measured. I have extreme gratitude to her in supporting me and my wish to have an all natural birth . I don't believe this would have happen possible with out her. I would recommend her to anyone who seeks a natural birth or any extra support for their birth experience .
Rosemarie is an excellent doula who really knows what she is doing. I had a wonderful birth experience. Rosemarie guided me throughout my whole labor and kept me motivated when I didn't think I could do it anymore. She was worth every penny and I will definitely be using her services again if I have more children.
Rosemarie was referred to me by my midwives for my December 2014 home birth. I'm so happy I took the recommendation! I had a very traumatic experience in a hospital with my first daughter, which included 36 hours of total labor, with more than 16 hours of back labor, and a ton of unwanted interventions. I had hired a different doula for that birth, but she really didn't take an active role, and did not even suggest positions to help ease the back labor.
Based on my first experience, I was dealing with a lot of fear and anxiety going into my second birth. I decided to avoid the hospital altogether, and I knew I needed a doula who would take charge (that is someone who would not let me defeat myself, and someone who would be proactive but also supportive). Rosemarie was very calm and reassuring from our first meeting, and I instantly felt like she was the right person for the job. She had extensive experience and a vast reserve of knowledge and resources and I became more and more confident during the course of our pre-labor conversations.
As for my delivery, Rosemarie arrived at my house when I was in the early stages of active labor. She coordinated my birth team (spouse and sister), and made sure I was comfortable and well hydrated while the other preparations were being made. Rosemarie did acupressure during my contractions, and spoke to me in the most calm, soothing voice. I swear I fell asleep between contractions. She also showed my sister and spouse how to hit the acupressure points (so I had lots of support the whole time), and she meshed perfectly with my homebirth midwives. My labor only lasted about three hours from start to finish, and I give so much credit to Rosemarie for keeping me calm and relaxed so that my body could do what it needed to do. My second birth was the most beautiful and redeeming experience. Needless to say, I give Rosemarie the highest recommendation!
Rosemarie is everything a doula should be and more! It was with her support that I had an empowering and successful VBAC. I do not believe I could have done it without her by my side. My husband agrees she is a true professional and worth every penny. She was there with me every step of the way, and always knew how to guide me through the labor process, especially when I came up against emotional and physical challenges similar to that of my first birth experience. Her knowledge, experience, and unconditional love is something that I would hope every woman in labor is blessed with when they choose a birth doula or consider labor support. I fully trusted her and am forever grateful that she was witness to the birth of my second son.
From the initial phone call to the follow up after birth Rosemarie was awesome!
She took the time to meet with me & my husband to explain her role before we hired her & she did not rush us but took the time to answer every question we had. In the weeks leading up to the birth she reached out to me to check on me but also was available whenever I had a question or concern. She has a wealth of knowledge & suggestions & was so helpful when we were putting together our birth plan. On the day of the actual birth we were in contact at least every 1 to 2 hours until labor really started. She met us at the hospital & was a great encouragement during labor & the birth of our daughter. She also stayed at the hospital with us for a few hours after the birth to make sure that we were ok & to make sure that breastfeeding was successful. My daughter is a little over 2 weeks & Rosemarie has called several times to see how we were doing & to make sure that breastfeeding was going well.
It was such a comfort to have Rosemarie as our doula & know that she was there to help & encourage us through the entire process. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone!!!!
As first time parents, my husband and I were really excited to get a doula - especially since we had just moved far away from our family before the birth. Rosemarie's childbirth class was really useful in helping us prepare for what to expect both physically and emotionally during labor. We were also really glad to have her to help us with our birth plan since we expected to be met with some resistance from the hospital regarding rooming in, etc. We were very happy with our choice to use Mother to Mother Services even before our son was born, but it was her help during labor that really made us grateful to have Rosemarie as our doula. My labor and delievery did not go as I planned, but Rosemarie's guidance helped us to understand what was happening, cope with the unexpected, make educated choices, and and enjoy the experience of our baby's birth. Rosemarie was able to help with pain management and coaching throughout the labor, but also had tips and ideas from her experience as a doula that the nurses lacked, and that allowed me to have the vaginal delivery that I wanted; even though my labor had stalled and it seemed likely that I would need a c-section. I really don't believe that I would have been able to deliver my baby without surgery if Rosemarie had not been there and will always be grateful to her. We highly recommend Rosemarie and Mother to Mother Services.
My husband and I first met Rosemarie when we decided to take private Lamaze classes to prepare us for the natural water birth we envisioned. After a few classes with her, we knew that we needed her knowledge and expertise in the delivery room with us. Rosemarie was with me from the beginning of my labor to the delivery of my baby. All the while, her encouragement and support pushed me further when I didn't think I could make it anymore. What sticks out to me the most about the whole experience was how calm Rosemarie was throughout. Her calm kept me calm. By the time we got to the hospital, I was 10cm dilated and ready to push. No time for water birth! Rosemarie was great at getting me into different positions and helping me move my baby down. She never let me stay in one position too long and I really feel that the movement helped my labor progress. After 6 hours, my husband and I were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. She was born naturally and without any medications. Who needs an epidural?! I had my epidula! I recommend Rosemarie to anyone who wants a knowledgeable, caring, and calm mother figure present during the birth of their child. I look forward to working with Rosemarie again in the future. :)
Roe has been an awesome fit for all of our 3 deliveries. We used a birthing tub each time and Roe helped us to know what to expect during labor, she helped me manage my pain well, and she also gave me a voice to the doctor and nurses that came through when I wasn't able to speak up.
We have had a beautiful and healthy daugter in 07 and two healthy and strong boys in 09 and 2013. We are excited to work with her again this Fall when we have our next bundle of joy.
Roe also gave me excellent support in breast feeding. I struggled with my daugthter (pain wise) and my last son had a lazy latch. Roe helped me to get breast feeding to work and I was able to nurse all of my kids for about 1 year each.
I am so thankful we used a doula and that Roe was with us all three times. She gave my husband great tips and ways to be helpful during labor. We couldn't imagine birthing a baby without her!
Rosemarie was an amazing doula. From the child birth classes to the delivery room, she made a tremendous impact on our birthing experience. Her caring and loving personality helped ease the stress and pain leading up to labor and delivery and throughout the whole experience. I would highly recommend Rosemarie as a doula to anyone! She truly made my natural birth experience memorable! If I am lucky enough to get pregnant again, I will use her again for sure.
Rosemarie is fantastic! She taught my husband and I what to expect prior to the birth of our son during her classes. She was very accessible via phone or email to answer any additional questions that I had leading up to the delivery. Then, on the big night, she was available immediately to consult with us over the phone and then joined us at the hospital. During my labor, she was respectful of my wishes, but also firm when she knew her suggestions would ease my pain. After I delivered my son, she stayed with us to assist with breastfeeding and answer any questions. She was always attentive and caring. We really appreciated that she was there to reinforce what we learned and help us navigate our way through our first childbirth. Rosemarie also took some priceless pictures to remember this miraculous event! As helpful as she was that night, she was invaluable to me in the weeks that followed. I was having a lot of difficulty breastfeeding my son and she would not give up on us. She followed up with me constantly to see how we were doing and offered suggestions to improve our situation. She ultimately referred us to a specialist who really helped us overcome our issues. My son is now exclusively breastfeeding, which was very important to me. Rosemarie goes above and beyond. Her caring and generosity of time make her quite unique. I would recommend her highly to anyone seeking the services of a doula.
We were fortunate to work with Rosemarie for the birth of our 3rd son in March, 2014. After a reaction to the epidural after the birth of our 2nd son, my goal was to have a drug free birth this time. Without Rosemarie's calm, purposeful and productive help throughout labor, I'm sure I would have given up. Instead, I had an incredible 17 hour long, drug-free labor (baby was posterior) and one of the most incredible, empowering, intimate, and human experiences I could imagine. With her coaching, I was able to find positions that brought me closer to delivery and manage the pain more than I ever could have on my own. She was by my side throughout and supported both me and my husband. I enthusiastically recmend Rosemarie as a doula.
After meeting Rosemarie I knew immediately that we would hire her to be our Doula. I wanted a completely natural birth, free of interventions. Rosemarie assured me that she would be their for me and do everything in her power to make sure I received my wish.
Rosemarie's experience with birth provides her with an unparralleled knowledge of the needs of Woman in labor.
My birthing experience was beautiful and perfect. I could not have pushed through without Rosemarie by my side. I am so appreciative that she was part of my birthing team.
When I found out I was pregnant, I talked to my husband about hiring a doula. He was open to the idea, and I selected Rosemarie because she was DONA and Lamaze certified and had great recommendations. After taking birth preparation classes at Rosemarie's home, we both got to know her quite well. She was an invaluable source of information, encouragement and comfort to us both during my labor and delivery. When I became pregnant with our second child it was he who suggested I get in contact with her before she was booked up! She is very knowledgeable, and truly supports you to have the best experience that you can without making any judgements. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services.
Rosemarie was a fabulous support during my attempt for a natural VBAC birth almost 18 years after from the time my first child was born. She was reassuring and helpful from the time my water broke at home until our beautiful Sophia entered the world healthy and full of life. When we needed to have a c-section Rosemarie was great. She absolutely helped to make what could have been a frightening negative experience into a positive one. I remember my birthing experience with joy because Rosemarie was there helping us through each step of the way. She helped to educate us beforehand, and followed up with a visit after Sophia came home. We are very grateful for the sevices that Rosemarie provided for our growing family.
Rosemarie is a sincere, caring, supportive doula filled with years of knowledge and abundance of love for her job. She was the guiding hand that I needed to empower myself to gain two healing births after a difficult emergency c-section with my first child. From my first phone call with Roe, I knew that she was exactly what I needed to have the confidence to birth my children with the least amount of medical intervention as a VBAC. My dream was to have an unmedicated hospital waterbirth as a VBAC and she supported me every step of the way working in effortless collaboration with me, my husband and my doctor. I could never thank her enough for the reliable support she provided me before, during and after the birth of my children.
Rosemarie is exceptional at what she does. She provides childbirth education in a private and comfortable setting, and makes learning so interesting and fun! She was my doula for both of my kids' births and I know I couldn't have done it without her. She brought comfort, peace, reassurance, and strength to my birth experiences. She offered extremely effective comfort techniques so that I never needed pain medication for my births. And best of all, she helped to instill a passion for childbirth in me and inspired me to become a doula myself. She is my mentor and friend, and overall a wonderful, caring, compassionate person! She has a lot to offer!
