Lisa is an amazing spirit to have as a nurturing force during your birth journey.   I am a first time mom who didn't have a partner to support me or my miracle daughter throughout what could have been a very difficult pregnancy.  Lisa was there for us both with a sense of calm peace and empowerment that I know made all the difference.  The whole experience was wonderful and went off without a single problem.  Lisa encouraged me to trust myself and my ability to birth babies just as women have been doing for thousands of years.  Even when labor went way more quickly than I expected it to, Lisa was there and helping guide us to our first face to face meeting.  She had no agenda or dogma as to how our birth should go; she just wanted my daughter and I to come together in the warmth and loving environment that she fostered for us.   I am so grateful that Lisa was part of our birth experience and is still a part of our lives.

I will never forget Lisa's calm and reassuring presence at the birth of our son, Jack. He was born two weeks after the due date but Lisa was incredibly supportive during that time- with phone calls, yoga, massage, herbs, walks. From the moment I met Lisa, I loved talking with her. She is a natural listener especially when I needed someone to talk to about challenging decisions. We were able to have a natural birth and I firmly believe it would not have been possible without Lisa there. She was also crucial support after we got home from the hospital with breastfeeding and other baby care questions. I feel so lucky to have met Lisa as she was exactly what my husband and I needed on our journey into becoming parents.

Amazing - Lisa came to our home for a prenatal visit to listen to where we were in preparing for birth and what we were looking for from her. I appreciated Lisa's grounded and professional approach to her work.  She did not bring an agenda and was looking to meet us where we needed her.  She ensured that we had an aopportunity to meet her back up (as she was on vacation for a few days during our time)  She checked in with me to ensure that i was really comfortable with the back up and i was.  She suggested various comfort measures in preparing for birth and labor and brought a yoga ball to our home for me to practice prior to labor.  Once labor began, Lisa was immediately available.  She connected with my husband and intuitively gave us space to connect as a couple during this miraculous time.  Lisa remained calm and centered during the more difficult moments of our beautiful labor and delivery.  I have a distinct memory of Lisa keepng my husband and i in our safe "bubble" as we transferred to the hospital by waving a scent of lavender that we had been using throughout labor.  it was a sweet, much needed and uplifting moment.  After the birth, i sensed a bit of tension amongst the nurses as i was declining all of the routine protocol.  Rather quickly, I noticed the tension melt and smiles return.  I learned later that Lisa had been connecting with them to keep our experience a positive one   This work is cearly a true calling for Lisa.

Lisa was a wonderful source of support, comfort and encouragement during my labor. She helped my husband be more at ease and confident. She helped me achieve the birth that I wanted, and got me through some tough moments. She has an intuitive sense of what you need and when. She's also fantastic at massage and it was just right during labor. I highly recommend Lisa as a doula. She is calming, peaceful, and knowledgeable.
