Attends hospital births? All Hospitals
In the years before pursuing certification I've attended a range of birth experiences within a hospital. Successful natural births, natural births with a midwife at a hospital, and births with interventions. I would be excited to be your doula at a hospital.
Attends birth center births? All Birth Centers
I have attended birth at birth centers in the past. I myself used a birth center with my first and find the experience at a birth center to be extremely positive. I would love to be your doula at a birth center.
Attends home births? Any Home Birth
Home births are a wonderful choice which I enthusiastically support. I feel more than equipped to attend and assist as a doula at your upcoming home birth or to discuss options and aid in making a decision regarding if home birth is right for you.

With this being my forth child, my husband and I questioned whether a doula was really necessary for the birth, thinking it might be “overkill” with my mom, husband, and a St Joe’s midwife also present. I was so thankful to have found Chelsea, as she helped prepare me mentally ahead of time for another un-medicated, natural VBAC. When labor went much longer than expected, I didn’t feel it was a burden to receive Chelsea’s support, mentally, physically and spiritually. Afterwards, even my husband affirmed how grateful he was to have Chelsea part of our labor and birth.

Chelsea is extremely knowledgeable about the aspects of natural childbirth, and assisted in prenatal visits answering questions and providing resources to help me make decisions on subjects such as GBS, delayed cord clamping, eye drops, and even when to give a first bath.

Chelsea's calm and encouraging spirit supported me through the tough parts of labor. I could hear her voice through each contraction, telling me to let my body surrender and allow it to work effectively towards delivery. She gently massaged my hands and feet when contractions became more intense, offering a place for my mind and body to relax amidst the pain. Most importantly, we were all able to give the glory to God for bringing another miracle safely into the world. I'm so grateful to Chelsea and for the entire experience!

My doula, Chelsea Martin was by my side from start to finish during the birthing of our baby girl on 11/2/13. She is a natural birth fanatic and loves all things baby and birth. When I found out I was pregnant in February of 2013, I wasn’t exactly sure I wanted or needed a doula but was considering it. Chelsea had offered her Doula services and after finding out that our baby was breech and this being my first pregnancy I was overwhelmed. After talking to her about it she reassured me that delivering this baby was something I could do. She talked me through it and gave me the support and knowledge I needed to aid me in my decision. She is personable and I knew I could call her and keep her abreast of my emotions, physical well being, changes in physique, ask questions or talk about concerns etc. She kept current with what I was experiencing and was there to provide answers, thought-provoking questions, and support to my husband who was skeptical of delivering a breech baby. She  reassured me in the natural birth process and gave me the confidence I needed to experience the natural delivery that I always looked forward to whether breech or not. She was ultimately my first choice because she is known to be a trailblazer in her field of childbirth, has a wide range of knowledge and is constantly researching the latest information. She is grounded in her approach to birthing and motherhood, so trusting her came easy! She spoke positive uplifting words to encourage me, helped me focus on guiding the baby down, offered suggestions for breathing techniques, labor positions and used essential oils for relaxation. Her knowledge in birth is astounding because she experienced it 5 x's herself and is extremely versed on the importance of each step of birth and what is happening in a woman’s body. I am confident recommending her to anyone. She is invaluable. You will gain peace of mind and a friend! She is so inspiring, wise and brilliant.

Chelsea has been along side my husband and I for both of my deliveries. Originally, I wanted to find a doula because I didn't know what to expect in all aspects of the birth experience and my number one goal was to deliver naturally. Not only was I able to ask a bunch of questions and get a fountain of informatio, I felt prepared and I reached each goal I set for my deliveries. I would have to say that my first baby was A LOT more difficult than my second but nonetheless Chelsea lifted me up, prayed over me, supported my decisions and wishes, helped reduce the chaos in the delivery room, encouraged my husband to step in when he was needed, and she swooped in when she knew she was needed. She far exceeded our expectations!! I wouldn't have wanted my deliveries to go any other way. Over the last two years, I have highly recommended any of my pregnant friends to look into having a doula as apart of their birth team and to this day, I always will! Thanks again for everything Chels! You made my births ones to cherish and remember forever!

Chelsea was fantastic and the best supporter during my labor. She offered great advice and recommendations while keeping my wishes and preferences in mind. She also helped me voice my opinion when needed.

Chelsea utilized essential oils which was so nice and provided great ambiance.

Chelsea was very thoughtful throughout the entire process. I am so glad I had her by my side during labor. She then assisted me with getting started with breastfeeding.

Working with Chelsea Martin was the best decision I could have made and I know without her my experience would have been completely different. I carried a large amount of anxiety because my previous delivery was so traumatic for me. I was open with Chelsea and she helped to start working out my fears before the delivery. Just talking about them with another woman was wonderful! I still carried some anxiety and fear with me even as I was in labor. I was trying my best to push them away but when my water broke and I was faced with the reality that this was really it, I was going to have to give birth again, I lost it. I had a complete meltdown. Chelsea and my support team let me cry but then eventually helped to reign me back in by giving me endless praise and encouragement. During my very short and very intense transition and second stage of labor, Chelsea was right there, making me focus on her and coaching me wonderfully during every contraction. And she still managed to take sweet, memorable pictures of the delivery and the first hour of our son’s birth! Chelsea was the strength and support I needed when I felt my most vulnerable. I look forward to having her by my side for all my future pregnancies.

Chelsea is a great advocate, coach, encourager, and support. She is willing to give information from multiple perspectives in order to allow you to make an informed decision in many different areas of the birthing process.  She was readily available and responded promptly to questions. She does an amazing job at celebrating birth. On top of that she captured memorable moments from the birth by taking pictures during it, but still remained present as a doula. She gave very helpful pointers about how to work with one's body to join in the birthing process not just survive through it.

For my first pregnancy I was looking for a person, other than a family member, to help me and my husband though labor and delivery. I am so grateful that we were led to Chelsea Martin! We meet with Chelsea several times before the birth (in June of 2014) and she was a great resource of information about having a healthy pregnancy, what to expect in labor and common procedures performed at a hospital birth. She allowed us time to do our own research and come to a decision as a couple, and she respected our decisions. We went in to labor a week early and as soon as we informed Chelsea that signs of labor were starting she was available. Finally we were at the point of wanting to go to the hospital, and again she was there right away. Our labor was 22 hours and had a couple of complications, yet Chelsea was there every moment, coaching me though the contractions and supporting my husband. When it came time to defer from our birth plan and make some hard decisions, she was clear, honest and ultimately had my health and the baby's health in mind. Our baby was born healthy and practically perfect! We could not have got the results we did, if Chelsea was not there with us. We are deeply grateful for her knowledge and services and hope to have her with us for our future children births. May G-D continually bless your Doula services Chelsea martin!
