We had an amazing experience with Mary! We lived in the Raleigh area and all of our family was in Nebraska so we did not have family support during the process. Mary was a huge help before, during, and after delivery. I really wanted to have a natural birth and Mary helped us be successful with this. She checked in on us to see if things were going okay and if we had questions for her prior to delivery. I was 6 days overdue and she recommended things to help naturally induce labor that I believe worked to prevent a medically induced labor. Once labor began she guided me on positions to try and guided us on how long to stay home and when it was time to go to the hospital. I wanted to birth at home for as long as possible and without her expertise I would have struggled with determining when to go to the hospital. Once we got to the hospital she knew how to keep me comfortable. She did simple things to help me progress. She not only helped to keep me comfortable but my husband as well! Per our request, she took pictures after delivery of us with our new baby boy. These are pictures we will cherish forever and would not have had without her there!  She stopped over after he was born to see how I was doing and to check in on our new baby boy! She has a great personality and is very easy to get along with! I would recommend her to anyone in search of a doula!

I am so thankful we were matched up with Mary. Couldn't have had a better birth experience and Mary was a big part of that. She was such a great support not only for me but also for my husband. She was just the person we needed there for guidance, reassurance, support, and encouragement. Looking back, there is not one thing I would change. Would definitely use her services again and recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.

We are so pleased with our birth experience with Mary! Mary was with us during the birth of our first child in November 2014. Prior to the birth, she visited us in our home to talk about our desires for labor and delivery, and she came by to visit our son a few weeks after he was born. She was a very calming presence during labor, and the environment was very relaxed. Mary used a lot of different pain management techniques in the delivery room and tub and helped us find laboring positions to help baby descend. The best part was that my husband was able to take breaks and eat while knowing I was in good hands with constant support from Mary. I would definitely recommend Mary to any expectant mothers looking for a doula in the Triangle.

Mary was absolutely wonderful!! I had a natural birth with my first son that was not ideal. I was very nervous about delivering my second son so decided to use a doula. I met with Mary, who was very personable and I felt very comfortable with her. When it came to delivery time she was not pushy in any way and made my husband and mother in the delivery room feel just as comfortable. She offered suggestions for positions and exercises to prepare for  a natural birth which were most helpful and felt aided in my successful delivery. It was a great experience and can't recommend her enough!!!

Mary Bozza was invaluable during my labor and delivery. As this was our first child, Mary’s knowledge and skills provided much needed reassurance to myself and husband. She met with us several times before the birth to ensure she knew us and our birth plan. Mary was readily available for questions and concerns and when I went into labor she answered the phone on the first ring at 3am. Mary was timely in showing up at the house for our first stage of labor and provided guidance on when to make the trip to the hospital. Mary’s support and presence gave me the strength to meet my goal for a natural birth. Mary offered helpful suggestions to keep my labor progressing and to withstand the pain of contractions. In addition she provided counter-pressure when needed, snacks to keep my energy up and encouragement. My labor and birth was a magical experience and Mary was an integral part of that. I strongly recommend Mary as a birth coach.

I am so grateful to have had Mary as my doula! She helped me come up with a birth plan and was very supportive in my labor and delivery.  I had a natural birth and I could not have done it without her.  When I felt like giving up, she showed me techniques that helped me deal with the pain so that I could have the natural birth that I wanted.  She made sure that my birth plan was followed by the medical team and gave me the confidence and reassurance that my natural birth was achievable!  She was awesome!

We ABSOLUTELY enjoyed having Mary serve as our doula! She took time to meet with us before I went into labor. She made herself readily available via text, phone calls, and meeting in person for questions or concerns even before labor. Mary took time to learn about the birth priorities of my husband and me and discuss our birth plan. She saw herself as a coach and encourager for me and my husband, but also showed respect and value for the health care professionals caring for me. Mary came to our house to help me labor before heading to the hospital. She assisted my husband with comfort measures and served us throughout the birth process, including taking pictures, getting water, providing words of encouragement, etc. I did not have an epidural and a large part of that was due to the great support and encouragement I received from Mary. She even came over after our baby was born to meet him! If I have another baby, we’re planning on asking for Mary’s assistance again!

Mary was a last minute fill in for our other doula, who was busy with another client. The moment Mary stepped into our home, she was invaluable. My baby was posterior (we could tell by my back pain) and she helped me to successfully turn him; the back pain went away, and my baby was born facing the correct direction. Mary was kind, but just as importantly, truly helpful. She had millions of ideas about how to manage the pain of contractions: new positions to stand/sit/lean, a small handheld massager, soft lighting, music... the list goes on and on. When we got to the hospital, she helped me remain calm even though I was frustrated and exhausted. When our baby was born, she took our first pictures and emailed them to us later that day. It was so special that someone had the presence of mind to take pictures of myself, my husband, and my baby right away. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I would recommend her to any friend.

I met Mary through my primary doula as she was apprenticing with my doula to complete her formal certification. She participated in our pre-labor meetings, our actual labor and delivery, and even our post delivery visits. I was so lucky to have her be part of this very important life experience. I wanted a natural birth and to be at home as long as possible and Mary was key in that process. She was so helpful thorughout the labor at home and at the hospital, and I dont think I could have done it without her. I can't say enough good things or thank her enough!

I'm really glad we had Mary as our doula.  As a second time mom, my labor progressed very quickly and quite intensely, so it was very helpful to have her there for the unmedicated birth of our son.  Although my time at the hospital was short (less than 45min from arrival to birth), she kept me calm during contractions and helped me to focus on what needed to be done rather than on the intensity of what I was feeling.  While my husband is a great birth partner, Mary did little things that he didn't know to do - wet washclothes, helping me breathe, etc.  She also brough snacks for post-birth that really hit the spot (who knew the snacks would be so key?!) and she took great pictures of our first moments together with our son.  I would definitely recommend working with Mary and wouldn't hesitate to have her attend any future birth of ours.

Mary was such a blessing to me at my birth. She was available when I made the last minute decision to use a Doula (I met her a week before I went into labor) . She was so encouraging of my birth plan to have a natural birth without the use of medication. During delivery Mary was there with me the whole time, helping me to breathe and make it through every contraction. She has such a calm spirit that helps in a stressful time like giving birth. With her expertise & presence I was able to have that natural birth that I really wanted and always imagined. My baby came out healthy and so alert and I was so grateful for that. My birthing experience will be a moment I will always cherish and I am so thankful that Mary was apart of it.

Mary was extremely helpful during our labor and delivery.  She immediately jumped to action and gave my husband and I hugs as soon as she arrived at the hospital even though we had never met her prior (she was the backup for our doula).  She assisted in suggesting position changes, offering comforting words, and providing massage during labor.  She provided guidance when intervention decisions were necessary, but was also respectful of our relationship with our doctor and our thoughts.  We truly appreciated having Mary participate in our birth even if we were unable to have the exact birth we had planned.  Our birth plan had truly gone out the window!  It was truly a blessing in disguise that she ended up as our doula in the end.  We would highly recommend Mary and will consider her for our future births!

After deciding that I wanted to try for a VBAC, I knew I needed help from a doula who could help with natural pain management and encouragement. Mary was just that! Upon meeting Mary for the first time, my husband and I both knew that she was "the one". Mary is so compassionate and caring. After contractions started at home and after my water broke, Mary showed up to my house and she helped me deal with the pain with massage, counter pressure and words of encouragement. We labored at home until we felt like the contractions were getting much closer together and more intense. Unfortunately, my labor was long and not progressing well and after 30 hours of labor, I ended up with another C-section. I wouldn't have lasted that long without Mary's help. What stands out for me is how invested Mary seemed. Despite not sleeping all of Friday night and Saturday night she was very still very energetic and enthusiastic. Mary stopped by at the hospital the next day to meet the baby and to see how I was doing. Through this process, I really felt like I made a friend in Mary and I'm so grateful to have shared this experience with her.

This was our 8th baby and 2nd time having a doula but the first time with Mary Bozza.  This was also our 2nd VBAC after a cesarean birth.  We were so pleased to have Mary as our doula for this labor and delivery.  She gave personal attention to our needs and always willing to help and answer all our concerns prior to, throughout, and even post labor&delivery.   The night I knew it was real labor, she met us at the hospital and we were so glad b/c once the Dr. "broke my water" at 5cm, labor was intense and quick.  She gave counter pressure to my backside that was incredibly helpful!   Without her doing that, I know for sure the pain would be 10x worse.  She was there for me and I felt that.  She did not interfere with the nurses or doctors but we all worked together as a team.  Then 40 mins later, our precious gift from God, our sweet baby girl was born.   Mary stayed around a bit to make sure all was ok.   She called and checked up on me and even visited the following day.  Mary truly cares about and respects LIFE and I recommend having Mary Bozza as your doula.

I had a wonderful experience with Mary Bozza as my postpartum doula. We had planned to have a natural delivery and have Mary in the room with my husband and I, but 4 days after my due date we discovered my baby was breech with very low fluids so I was admitted to the hospital immediately for a C-section. Mary came to see me and my daughter at the hospital and at my home after the birth. She helped with making sure I was comfortable and taking care of the baby to allow me to rest. She actually spent the night at our house one night since the baby had her nights and days confused. She made me food, folded laundry, and helped keep the house clean for me since getting up and down was difficult after the surgery. She was a great resource for books prior to birth and for after the birth, and helped me with breastfeeding as well. She is such a sweet person to just sit and talk with about anything. She has been helping women with newborns for years and is a mother herself, so she has a great understanding of what is going on and how to help comfort. Those couple of weeks after birth are quite emotional, overwhelming, and to be very frank a blur of bliss and insomnia, but I found Mary's help to be such a grace. She helped my husband understand what I was going through and even helped him with burping the baby and ways to hold her. She not only worked with me but with my husband as well, which made me very happy and I'm sure relieved him. I would highly recommend Mary to any friend or family expecting a baby. She makes it very clear that she is there to support and comfort the mom-to-be and will not interfere with doctors, nurses, or even the wishes of the mom. You don't realize what a blessing a doula is until you have one there to help you and I will most certainly call on Mary to help with my next baby!!

Mary is an amazing coach. She helped me a lot through out my pregnancy and my delivery time. When I was having contractions, she was walked me through them and stayed on the phone with me. When it came time to go to the hospital, I called her and she stopped with everything she was doing to help me get to the hospital and stayed there with me during my child birth and visited me next day.Mary helped me with difference positions to help with my back labor. She was always there by my side coaching me on to stay focused and calm. Meeting her was the best thing that ever happen to me. She is a person I can strongly recommend. Now my daughter Trinity is 6 months old, she keeps on checking up on me to see if everything is well. I am glad that I had her as my Doula

Our son Jackson came into the world on October 16, 2012. My wife’s water broke at midnight and labor started just as we (and probably Mary) were settling down to sleep. You would never have known it by how alert and attentive Mary was throughout the labor. Mary helped my wife with many labor techniques, including the birth ball, labor tub, side lying and massage. When it became apparent that the labor was stalled at 2 cm for 7 hours with intense, unceasing contractions, and my wife requested an epidural, Mary continued to support and encourage us, allowing for both myself and my wife to rest before the pushing stage. After receiving the epidural, my wife was dilated to 10 cm within 2 hours. The pushing began not long after that, but lasted over 3 hours, during which time Mary helped me to physically and emotionally support my wife as she pushed our son into this world. We can’t imagine not having Mary there to help us through our son’s birth. As wonderful as she was during labor, Mary was also an enormous support for us with her postpartum services. Mary worked on laundry, organizing our nursery and shopping errands for us, as well as helped my wife and son with their nursing relationship. Her help enabled us to have a lot more quality time with our precious newborn son during the first week of his life.
