We used Virginia is for Doulas with our first child and I honestly don't know how I could have gotten through with out them. They were so professional, caring and really listened to our needs and struggles. During labor the support was fantastic and they were very hands on, they even made sure that by birth plan was followed as much as possible. For postpartum they were amazing! I was able to sleep while they watched my baby and even helped out with some household chores that were building up. I don't know how I would have made it with out their support!

Oh how much I appreciated Tiffany. From our first phone call I knew that she was the perfect match for me. It was like she knew my expectations before I said them, as well as prepping me in a way I understood at the time. My husband was deployed on a hardship tour, and I did not know if he was going to make I back in time. That’s when we decided it would be good to have a doula, and I found Virginia is for Doulas

A little back story: I was a second time Mom. My first was a C-section due to late decelerations and my blood pressure being all over the place. It turns out that the cord was around his neck and that I had an infected placenta. I didn’t even know if I could birth vaginally, I just knew i wanted to try.

Tiffany and Her team told me how unusual it was to have all those things happen in one birth and that was why we ended up in the OR. It was so calming and reassuring from our first meeting. When I finally went into labor, she came when we called her and she showed up just in time to convince me that my body could do it. She walked me and my husband through calming techniques, getting me in the shower at the right time, and how to push. It was her scarf tied up to a post that I used as a counterweight for pushing. It was her massages when my leg cramped from contraction. It was her talking me through how to scream effectively that made me have a successful unmedicated VBAC. She was the first to give me a high five.

it ally helped to have her input when a few days after we got home, she saw how poor my little persons latch was. She had a Lactation consultant and a massage therapist for me all lined up and I couldn’t have done all of that without her. I would hire this team again in a heartbeat. They helped me have the experience I wanted. Please, everyone, consider them. The house visits, the time at the hospital, the texts to check on us, worth every penny!

Tiffany is knowledgeable, competent, and provides effective, high quality support throughout pregnancy, during labor, at the time of birth, and in the care of your newborn. Whether you are having your first or subsequent child, she will play an essential role in guiding you through one of the most powerful experiences you will ever have.
In preparation for childbirth, Tiffany offers a Childbirth Education Course. This course covers a diverse range of topics, is well-structured and is unbiased. It contains up-to-date information that has been thoroughly researched and is backed by reputable sources. Conveniently taking place in the comfort of your own home at a time to suit your schedule, it is one-on-one and caters to your individual needs. While the program offers comprehensive information, she will be more than accommodating if you wish to discuss certain topics or concerns in greater detail. I found her course was significantly informative, despite my own extensive research.
In my experience with her as a doula, Tiffany made me feel competent and empowered. She was vital in easing the pain of my contractions during labor by suggesting techniques and providing massage. My husband wished to be as involved as possible, so she assisted him in finding ways to do so. She followed up with us after the birth and thoroughly addressed our concerns and questions. The greatest thing about having Tiffany as a doula was how she fully respected my decisions. She made sure I understood all of my options to allow me to decide what was best for my family, then assisted me in implementing those decisions. When others urged me to do something against my will, she skillfully handled the situation so I could labor in peace. Our beautiful, healthy, happy baby boy was delivered by my husband in a powerful, positive experience that never would have happened as it did without Tiffany.

Before I was pregnant I knew I wanted a doula at my side during birth. It was important for me to try to have an unmedicated vaginal childbirth and I knew that the assistance of a doula would increase the likelihood of that happening. Tiffany and I shared many similar birth philosophies so I knew I would be in the right hands during labor, however, now after the birth of my son I realize she played a much more integral part than helping insure that I would have the vaginal birth I desired - she provided me with consistency during a hospital birth with changing staff, information to help me understand the medical processes and procedures, and most importantly, physical, mental, and emotional support.

During the early parts of labor Tiffany's pain management techniques were so helpful and she was prepared with a variety of tools and ways for me to work through the pain. While laboring Tiffany knew exactly what to say ("breath your baby down") as a sort of mantra that I completely attribute my being able to deliver my baby boy. During my contractions I would say, "please say that thing again!" and almost like magic I was able to center myself and focus on breathing and a safe delivery.

I've said it many times to friends and family since my son's birth and I'll say it here... hiring Tiffany was undoubtedly the best thing I did for my birth experience and I would do it again for any future births!

Tiffany’s doula services were such a gift at my second birth. Everything I was hoping for with my first labor was fulfilled with my second thanks to Tiffany’s calm presence. A completely natural, minimal intervention hospital birth is a challenge, and Tiffany helped my family rise to it.

We had an excellent experience with Tiffany as our doula.  As a first-time mom giving birth in a hospital, I wanted to have a natural birth but was worried about pain management.  I know that I wouldn't have been able to go drug-free without Tiffany's support throughout my labor.  She gave me the confidence I needed to get through those painful contractions, and she offered comfort measures that really worked!  She got along really well with the nurses at the hospital as well as my husband and mom who stayed with me throughout labor.  Thank you, Tiffany!

Tiffany is creative in ways to assist with labor. She was very knowledgeable and knew multiple positions to ease labor pains. She was one of our birth class teachers as well as midwife, and taught us the labor process step-by-step, what to expect and how to get through. Tiffany is very patient, kind, respectful and listens to your needs. I would recommend her to any expectant Mama. :)

Although this was my second birth, I desperately needed a doula this time around because after a traumatic first-birth experience, I was a VBAC patient. So I got one AND the VBAC! Tiffany is a wonderful doula, caring, experienced and very knowledgeable. My husband and I are convicned that if it wasn't for her, we would have opted for the repeat c-section after being in labor for nearly 3 days with doctors breathing down our necks due to no progress. Tiffany helped convince me that my body was made for this, no one can come in and tell me otherwise! And like I said, I was in labor for 3 whole days! Tiffany stayed by my side the entire time. She is one dedicated person because she did this while being pregnant herself! Leading up to my hospital admission, Tiffany came to my house, reassured me (and my husband) of our end-goals, built my confidence, helped me manage my pain, and created a relaxing environment for my family and I. She was also very respectful of my religion and our practices. While at the hospital, she stayed up with us the whole night and helped me fight my fake VBAC supportive OB. In the early hours while I was in tears, she cheered me on and helped me fight for my induction. She held onto me during my pushing phase, helped me breathe and I was able to push the baby out within 20 minutes! Not bad for a first time 'normal' delivery.

Tiffany remained helpful even after-birth. We stayed in contact through text messaging, she answered all of my newborn questions and visited 3 weeks after for a follow-up and to congratulate me again! I offer my highest recommendations for Tiffany's Peaceful Beginnings Birth Services!

Tiffany was present before, during, and after the birth of our daughter. She met with us several times beforehand, answered a lot of questions, and really helped us prepare for the birth. We had planned on a natural childbirth, but ended up with an induction and C section. She really helped us deal with the changes in our birth plan. She was a valuable source of information when things were rapidly changing at the hospital and fully explained what the hospital staff was conveying. She was also an asset to my husband, allowing him to participate fully, but also giving him a break when needed. After the birth, she met with us several more times and provided post-partum advice and recommendations and gave us a lot of lactation information. I would fully recommend Tiffany to anyone looking for a doula.

Tiffany is a beautiful person inside and out! My husband and I liked her calm demeanor and sensible outlook on things. She is so passionate about what she does, but she's not judgmental if you disagree with her opinions. She truly has what it takes to be a doula! I got so much comfort from talking with her after stressful dr appointments and when my baby hadn't come by my due date. During labor, I wouldn't have traded Tiffany for the world. My husband was the one I leaned on and it was cheering to have my mom in the background, but Tiffany had a special effect on the room making it feel safe, productive, and anticipatory. (Unlike the l&d nurse!) At the beginning she talked to me like we were girlfriends catching up, and when things started to get harder she made me feel like I was being so brave! I had some complications during the birth of my daughter, and Tiffany respected the doctor but also reminded me of my options and to take my time. She has a great sense of her place and perspective on how important birth is and how wonderful babies are!

Tiffany was at the birth of my son as a student midwife but also acted as doula to some degree. She was FABULOUS! We were so pleased with her encouragment (especially during the pushing phase) and our team was amazing. She helped us to achieve the VBAC I had been dreaming about and through every step of the process offered encouragement. We have nothing but positive words for her!! Thanks Tiffany!!

Tiffany was a WONDERFUL assistant to my son's birth; I am SO glad I had her!  This was my 3rd child, first time hiring a doula and my husband was deployed.  (I'd use her even if my husband wasn't gone, but that motivated me to hire one at all.)  I was staying with family and had a close friend visiting the weekend the baby happened to arrive.
I met with Tiffany after we emailed, the communication was comfortable for me, questions I asked her were clearly answered, my concerns and needs were agreeable to her, etc.   I hired her really close to my due date, but we still fit one home visit in.  Tiffany was willing to be as involved as I'd let her be. :)
The day-of started with pre-dawn contractions so I texted her "might be today/tomorrow" and we kept touch thru the day.  She checked on me for signposts, etc.  I'm very comfortable laboring at home and wanted to stay home as long as possible.  I was busy with my friend, errands, etc and probably waited too long to have her come over.  Finally, late afternoon, I was ready for her 1-on-1 attention and massage, etc to start.
She arrived at 5 as I was feeling things get serious, my husband called just then, about 20 mins later (after my call and inital checking how I felt) I got into the tub with her help.

Ohhhhh the massage that relaxed my neck/shoulders.  PERFECT...and 15 mins later...out popped baby as she was suggesting we should head to the hospital.  Oops... ha!  I couldn't have had a more wonderful birth!!!  LOVED IT!  She didn't have time (really!) to do counter pressure, like we'd hoped.  She suctioned/checked baby, called a midwife to double check care, and went to the hospital with me and stayed till I was ready for her to leave.  She was a great balance between family/hospital/me.  Having a doula was invaulable and Tiffany was perfect for my birth.

Working with Tiffany was such a pleasure! As a first time mom, I was anxious about labor and delivery. Tiffany was a wonderful asset to our birth team as she answered any questions I had throughout the pregnancy and was a trooper the night I went into labor. Our labor started in an unexpected and scary way. Tiffany quickly changed plans of meeting us at the birth center and she rode with us to the hospital and stayed to help us deliver our precious son. She kept me calm and did everything possible to keep me as comfortable as possible. Without her help and confidence in me, my birth experience wouldn't have been nearly as smooth. If baby number two is in our future- Tiffany is a must in the delivery!!
