I found caroline because I needed a postpartum doula for my little baby. My employer reimburses postpartum doulas up to 6 weeks through carrot fertility for doulas that are certified with DONA. Caroline was a good match for us because she had this certification, and she was able to attest. The reimbursement went through fine. Caroline was very knowledgeable with the baby and the postpartum process and was a huge help to our family. Having her around was great for us mentally, because she helped us not panic about small things, and told us that these are expected - Baby acne, cradle caps, etc. She also helped notice things that we wouldn't have noticed ourselves, such as the baby preferring one side over the other. She shared many cool tips for changing diapers, bottle feeding, burping the baby, putting baby to sleep, etc. She educated us about the stages of baby development and interpreted behaviours we were seeing regarding his sleep patterns. Breastfeeding went swimmingly, and i felt as if i had my own personal lactation consultant with me. We had her for 8 hours on the first week, with a gradual decrease in the number of hours for the weeks following it. I feel like Caroline really set us up for success. I would highly recommend her to everybody.

Caroline was a huge help to us when we had our first child! She is an amazing resource for all things baby related! Her experience was invaluable. She is also just a lovely person, and she is so easy to talk to. We would highly recommend her!

My husband and I hired Caroline Moran to be our post-partum doula following the birth of our daughter. There were a number of complications with her birth and given Covid-19, we were without any kind of support from either of our families.

Hiring Caroline to be our post-partum doula was the best decision I've made thus far as a parent. I'm sure every family uses their doulas differently but we were keen to have someone "show us the ropes" and be there to make sure we didn't mess up too badly every time we did something new. It helped quell any kind of new parent anxiety we might have otherwise experienced. Given her years of experience and background, we trusted her immediately and were grateful for her help and guidance. With everything she taught us, we feel much more confident than I would have expected caring for our daughter without our families here to help us.

More importantly though, I can't quite put into words how impactful she was to my recovery. After a very long labor (30+ hours) I was brought in for an emergency c-section given both the baby and I were in distress. Unfortunately the baby was wedged too far down in the birth canal and had to be pushed back up. In doing so, the incision made to my uterus extended on both sides and I lost a great deal of blood (1,000ml). I came home quite the mess, both physically and emotionally.

Caroline stepped in and made sure that our home was set up as best as possible to accomodate my limited mobility. She helped educate both my husband and I about how we were to move forward. Beyond that, she provided a safe space for both of us to talk about what I'd been through and how that impacted us both. Caroline made me feel safe, heard and taken care of. She truly acted as my advocate.

I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for our little family.

Caroline was such a blessing to me and my family after the birth of our twins! Her guidance, wisdom, and sense of calm were invaluable in those early days of chaos. Caroline was a versatile resource, offering practical assistance with breastfeeding and learning to feed two babies, answering questions about naps and sleep and tummy time, and brainstorming and problem-solving with me on any issue that came up. I so appreciated being able to bounce ideas off of her and being able to watch her with my babies—she modeled mothering so beautifully. I think back to some of the most chaotic and stressful moments of my early motherhood days and inevitably Caroline offered advice that sticks with me still today. In addition to being able to learn from Caroline, I also appreciated being able to leave the house for appointments, etc. and knowing that my babies were in the absolute best of hands while I was away. I know that when I look back on this time in my life, I will think fondly of Caroline and how she helped me navigate my new role as a mother.

Caroline was instrumental in my transition to being a mother. She coordinated and communicated with our team of doulas to make sure we had the help we needed throughout each week. She taught us about newborn care, newborn safety, and newborn sleeping strategies. She was a very big support in helping me as a first time mom to breastfeed and pump to feed my twins. She supported me in getting rest each day by providing me time to nap while she took care of dishes and laundry. She is always calm, positive, professional, and she provided a lot of support to me in decision making. Her support really helped make our newborn twins experience a really positive experience that I will always remember. We feel very fortunate to have had Caroline's help for our babies' first four months!

Caroline was an invaluable help to us with the arrival of our daughter. We experienced an unexpected c-section, low infant weight, and difficulties with nursing. Caroline was able to help and guide us with calm, confidence and care. She is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of infant care, helped us make our home routine more efficient and enjoyable, and guided us on questions and concerns to raise with our doctors. She not only provided great physical support (baby care, household management, etc.), but friendly and non-judgmental emotional support when things got really rough. She worked with our hectic schedule (and busy household including two boys, a cat, a dog, and a lot of visitors) and always arrived promptly and with a smile. We are so grateful for her help and insight and highly recommend her services to all new parents!

Caroline’s professional assistance made a huge difference in the first three weeks after my daughter was born. Our life became difficult with a few unexpected challenges around my delivery. I had a complicated labor which ended up in C-section and some postpartum health challenges, my parents’ travel plans got delayed unexpectedly and my husband started a new career and couldn’t be around as much. With Caroline’s help I was able to overcome the health challenges while learning how to care for my baby (nursing, bathing, napping, …) in a way that is enjoyable for both of us. Caroline has calm and non-judgmental manner. She is very knowledgeable and smart in recognizing challenges and providing a variety of solutions and information so you make the best decision for yourself. She is willing and more than capable to help with a wide range of postpartum items from emotional and physical health to nursing and caring for baby, financial future planning for baby, dealing with insurance, and arranging laundry and kitchen. We were so lucky and truly appreciate her help.

Caroline served as a doula for our family with my six week old infant for several weeks. I was extremely impressed with Caroline's knowledge and ease with our son. Josh. She was a great resource and asset to our family during a time when I was recovering from an injury. I was very comfortable having Caroline in our home and would highly recommend her to any family considering post partum doula services. She's great with older kids as well!

After surviving the first 6 weeks with my sensitive little one I sought Caroline's assistance to help me make things more streamlined and efficient. I tapped into Caroline's vast knowledge and experience to understand how I should be going about my day (sleep, eat, play) and ways to make bathtime, nursing, naps/bedtime, and playtime more enjoyable and less stressful for both my baby and I. Her calm, warm, and patient demeanor was perfect for me and little Matilda. Caroline always provided me with a number of options and things to try because she knows what works for one baby may not work so well for another, especially the very sensitive ones among us! Caroline was always extremely adaptable to my wants during each visit. Without the knowledge and guidance Caroline passed on, life would not have gotten this much easier as it did done. Her help made me feel more confident as a first time mother and for that I will always be grateful.

Caroline Moran created an environment of gentle care for our newborn. Her postpartum expertise allowed me to relax and tend to matters that warranted my attention all while trusting that my new child was resting in capable hands. Not only did Caroline care for our baby by reading to him and soothing him, she also helped with the laundry, which any new mom will tell you is a huge luxury! Every time Caroline helps in our household, I learn something new. From best car seat practices to how to hold the bottle just right, Caroline is a natural-born nurturer and a mother's (or father's) best friend.

I have known Caroline for ten years and she joins my doula business to support families after birth.  We raised our youngest children together, often trading childcare and working in a co-op preschool together.  Many times as a parent of two I looked to Caroline for advice and welcomed her in to my home to take care of the babies.  Caroline has a gentle, knowing, nonjudgmental way of guiding her clients and I am thrilled to recommend her to all of my birth doula families.
