Chelsie was an amazing resource for me during my pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She has such a calming affect and is also one of the most knowledgeable individuals I have met regarding pregnancy, labor, birth, and child-rearing. What I loved the most about her was her ability to be both light-hearted and humorous, while still being so informative and professional when needed. If I have another child I will definitely want Chelsea by my side again - she was invaluable.
Chelsie was an excellent doula! She took plenty of time to get to know my husband and I before delivery. Then she was the first one I called when I started feeling contractions. She even came to our house late in the evening, despite that it could be a long night. We let her get a few hours of sleep though, and met her at the birth center in the morning, where she helped keep me focused and calm throughout the rest of labor. She even took a few pictures for us, which is wonderful to have to look back on. I/we would have missed out greatly if we didn't hire her!
I loved having Chelsie as my doula! She's always willing to answer questions, and she definitely knows what she's talking about. I'm the type of person that has 1000 questions, and Chelsie has been a trooper responding to all my texts.
I love her personality too. She's fun and upbeat and was always smiling every time I saw her. She's been a valuable resource for me and I would gladly use her as a doula again!
Chelsie is extremely knowledgeable about pregnancy and childbirth and helping a mom weigh all of her options. At the birth, she knew exactly what to say or do at just the right moment to make things go a bit smoother. I don't know how I would have gotten through my labor with my second baby without her, when it turned out to be longer and harder than the first. And she's just fun to be around... never thought I would be laughing while in labor! Choosing to hire Chelsie was the best decision I made for the big day. And from Dad's point of view... this labor was a piece of cake... he even got a nap in.
I loved working with Chelsie!!! I contacted her at the end of my pregnancy when a whole lot of things started hitting the fan with my health and obstetric care at the hospital. She was a wonderful advocate for me and my baby during those last few weeks and during labor. She listened sooooo many times on the phone to help me with my endless questions! I would highly recommend her and also the placenta encapsulation!
It was so easy for me to talk with Chelsie about things that were important to me. She has so much knowledge and experience to draw from. I was well supported throughout the pregnancy, during the birth and afterwards. She was always ready to answer questions and offer reading material that would prepare me. During labor she was very attentive and knew how to comfort and encourage me throughout the most challenging parts of the delivery. We (my husband and I) are so grateful she was at the birth. I would confidently recommend Chelsie to anyone.
Chelsie paid for herself before I ever went into labor. The knowledge, wisdom, and expertise she brought with her every step of the way was reassuring, supportive, and exactly what my Husband and I needed to feel more secure with our Hospital birth. We wouldn’t have to think and would have someone in our corner if anything went wrong or they got too pushy.
During Labor she helped to manage the pain significantly without need for meds and worked beautifully with my Midwife, Nurse, and Husband during the whole process. She was an anchor when my Daughter came out needing to go to the NICU because she had fluid in her lungs. I’ll never forget her holding my eyes in those moments and keeping me here on Earth as I was getting stitched up and my Husband was with our Daughter. Having someone who was there just for me meant the world.
Chelsie is worth her weight in gold two times over, if you are considering her as your Doula I’d suggest setting up a meeting and seeing if she is a good fit personality wise because the knowledge, passion, and wisdom are definitely there.
I was having my fourth baby and had been told by many that my body just wouldn't and couldn't go into labor on it's own. I had the dreaded "Failure to progress" label thrown my way and was either induced or given pitocen to hasten stalled labors with all my prior children. I was afraid that I wouldn't know labor when it happened and I was afraid I wouldn't go into labor or wouldn't dialate on my own. I was miserable at the end of my pregnancy and she helped ease swelling and uncomfortableness with herbs and EO's. When my due date came and went she continued to reassure me that my body was made to birth babies that it had just never been given the opportunity to do so in it's own time. She reminded me that babies come when babies are ready...twelve days after my due date I gave birth naturally, uninduced to a 12 lb. 5 oz. girl. I really am glad I had her words of encouragement when I doubted my body and myself. She did my placenta encapsulation and made me a placenta smoothie after I had my daughter. I had severe anemia prior to the birth and with considerable blood volume loss I was suffering from fainting spells everytime I would stand up. My midwife was impressed with my recovery time postpartum and asked what I had been doing to bring my blood counts up and she attributed consuming placenta to my fantastic recovery. I am happy to have gotten to know her and consider her one of the most knowledgeable people I know in regards to pregnancy, birth and babies. I highly recommend her to anyone.
I had a very rough labor with my 1st as I was not prepared at all on how to handle contractions. Thinking about labor and delivery with my second would literally bring tears to my eyes. So I decided to hire a doula to help prepare me and help me through the labor.
When I met Chelsie, she got it. She could see the fear in my eyes, and encouraged me to have someone help if it wasn't her. She also understood that labor is HARD and was supportive of using pain meds if that was my choice. I appreciated that! So I hired her just a couple weeks before I was due, and after she spent hours at my house during he 1st prenatal apt, I knew I had made the right choice!
Before my baby arrived, she was available to me all the time, through text and email, and she would just hang out at my housem educate me, and stay as long as I needed during those visits. She also brought pregnancy tea, left books for me to read, and a lavender pouch & antistress mist to help with my anxiety.
When I went to labor, we asked her to meet us at the hospital, and she was there before I was! I was having bad back labor, and if it wasn't for Chelisie, I dont know how I would have managed. She brought mints, candles, and oils to smell to help - and they all were excellent, I'm so grateful she brought them! She was the key person in helping me get through each contraction, reminding me of how to breathe, changing tub water, spraying my back, and massaging me each time. She was SO good at pain management that I ended up laboring through to a natural delivery. When I thought I couldn't do it anymore, she just brought me back, and the next contraction was easier.
Then after I had my baby, she was an advocate: she stopped a nurse from cutting the cord too soon, and was telling the nurse to out the baby on my chest. This was important bc I was spent! I would absolutely recommend her for to anyone, whether or not you want a natural delivery.
My labor was very fast and the midwife actually missed my homebirth by ten minutes. Chelsie communicated with me frequently during my labor and made it there before my baby was born. She really helped to calm me when I felt scared at the prospect of the midwife not getting there in time; her entire demeanor was very calm and calming. She took pictures before and after the birth for me, which I really appreciated because my husband wouldn't have been able to take any.
Chelsie stayed for quite a long time after the birth and assisted the midwife, once she arrived, with some of the post-partum things that needed to be done. She gave me tea and honey to drink to help my uterus contract, as well as a special tea to use on my lady parts, which was very soothing. She promptly brought me the day after the birth my encapsulated placenta, the dried cord, and some lovely birth art she created with the placenta and cord. She has checked in with me frequently since the birth.
During my pregnancy, Chelsie provided a lot of information and always answered promptly any questions I had. She brought me a treat on my due-date (I gave birth eight days past my due date) and it was a very nice and unexpected gesture.
Chelsie has been worth her weight in gold throughout my pregnancy and delivery. She is a font of information on pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, circumcision, and parenting. I only wish I could afford to pay her more and I have and will continue to recommend her services to any pregnant ladies I know.
Chelsie is amazing. I honestly couldnt have had the birth experience I did without her support; not only of me but also of my husband. I had some complications and she was able to keep me calm and focused on the end game. I will not give birth again without her!
