Rebecca is incredibly experienced in her craft. She is very knowledgeable about each hospital, doctor, and knows how to support each mom/family in their very own journey. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to hire her again for my family. She supported all of us in our most recent birth of my son. If you want a doula, hire this woman with confidence because she is the absolute best. I wish I had her during my first child’s birth. Thank you Rebecca! ????

Look no further -- Rebecca is amazing!

This was my first pregnancy, and I wanted to try for a natural birth. The first time I spoke to Rebecca over the phone I knew she was the one for us, and meeting her in person only solidified our decision. Rebecca has a great sense of humor (which is a great quality for when you're in labor!), she is the utmost professional, and she is extremely passionate about what she does and ensuring you receive the best possible care. One of the other many things that I love about Rebecca is that she is not judgmental; I knew that if it turned out that I wanted medication during labor that she would support me and my decision.

My labor was relatively quick - about 10 hours from initial contractions to delivery - and Rebecca was there every step of the way. She told my husband and I when we should head for the hospital, and she met us there shortly after we were admitted. We could not have accomplished my goal of a natural birth without her calming, intuitive presence. With Rebecca by our side, we were worry-free. Rebecca was our sage coach, and she guided us and reassured us at every stage. Her being there made all the difference in the world.

I cannot say enough fabulous things about Rebecca. She was also my advocate in the hospital, and she made sure I received the attention and care that I needed when I needed it. Rebecca is truly amazing and we are so grateful and thankful that she was with us for the birth of our son.

Rebecca is the absolute best!!

She was amazing both in knowledge and being dependable. We are so happy we hired her! She encouraged us to be strong and not induce too early and we had a normal vaginal birth. She was always available which was comforting as first Time Parents. But she was never pushy and accurately outlined the choices we had. Sometimes she can be strong in her language or points of view but she is our advocate! Needed in today’s world. Bravo to her!!

I contacted Rebecca while I was 8 months pregnant with my son. My husband is in the military and was going to be away for training during the time of the birth. With not having family near me I was so worried about through labor and delivery alone. I could not be more happy that I did. Since the first time I met with her to see if how we meshed I was beyond happy to met someone that I knew was going to become an important part of my life. Rebecca was always available when I had questions or concerns. My goal was to have a natural hospital birth.

Due to some complications I ended up needing to be induced. With information from Rebecca I was able to go with the most natural approach for a starter. There were several changes to my birth plan due to complications that came up but Rebecca was so supportive and knowledgeable to any questions I had. Never once did I feel unsupported of changes that came along.

Rebecca was amazing with talking me through each of my contractions and keeping me focused on getting through the one I was on. As things progressed and became more difficult Rebecca was there. Talking me through, helping massage my back and hips with all the pain I was having with my back labor and keeping me going.

Without Rebecca's support, encouragement and guideance I would not have made it through the difficult labor and delivery. While I did end up having a few interventions in my labor, I did make it through without pain medication. And it is because of her. So many times I thought and said I can't do this and she reminded me, Yes, you can. She kept me going.

I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone that wants a support person that will support you no matter what you choose in your labor and delivery. She is a treasured person in my life and will always have a special place in my heart.

My husband is so thankful that I had someone there with me when he couldn't be.

We are blessed to have found Rebecca to help us through this amazing journey welcoming our son into this world! She was focused on us through the entire process and very accommodating to our needs. Our birthing process was made so much easier and more fulfilling with Rebecca there for support, guidance, encouragement and advice. If we were uncertain of anything or when making adjustments to our birthing plan during delivery, she spoke up on our behalf making sure our wishes were heard and respected. We most certainly will use Rebecca again when we expand our family and hope you will consider her services too.

Rebecca is a fabulous doula! This was my first pregnancy and I didn’t know what to expect. Rebecca was very knowledgeable and helpful. She has such a wonderful personality and she is very comfortable to be around. Her childbirth class was so helpful and packed with useful information. I also loved that fact that the class took place in the comfort of my own home. My husband and I both valued the information she had to offer. I appreciated her timely responses throughout our communications. During my labor, Rebecca was a calming presence. She was a great motivator, but in a gentle and peaceful way. She was such a great asset for me during my pregnancy and my labor and delivery. I would absolutely recommend Rebecca to anyone who wants a doula!

Rebecca is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet! You talk to her for five minutes and you will want her to be your new best friend! I had her make my placenta into pills and she came at the last second because my pregnant brain completely forgot to contact her! So not only did she come last minute for me she also got me my placenta pills to me the next day and came to the hospital to drop them off! She completely went above and beyond! This is my first child and I took the pills in the hospital and my milk came in before I left the hospital! (I had a C-section) My body was no where near ready for labor so I feel for my milk to have come in so fast was all due to the pills (all the nurses were amazed my milk came in so fast!) and also now three weeks later my milk supply is so strong and amazing and I already have a stock pile in my freezer! Once again this is my first pregnancy but I swear I owe all of this amazing breastfeeding experience to the placenta pills! You will not regret working with Rebecca! She is absolutely amazing in every way!

Rebecca was referred by several of my coworkers. She was always available whenever I had questions and was very approachable.  We had a private pre-birth class with her, which was extremely informative and helped us prepare for most everything we'd experience.  She was great about talking through all the options and providing all the necessary information for us to make informed decisions without pushing her own agenda.  I'm a first-time mom and my husband and I were SO GLAD to have Rebecca on our side in the delivery room.  I had an epidural, so she helped me get into a position that would allow the baby to progress downward. We ended up with a very inexperienced nurse and without Rebecca, I would not have known the nurse wasn't providing me with the right pressure to help me push with the epidural. I am positive I would have ended up having a C-section due to ineffective pushing had Rebecca not been there to provide me with the information I needed to be able to advocate for myself. When she noticed the inexperienced nurse wasn't properly reviving the baby immediately after delivery, she jumped in to help and my doctor was very grateful.  After the birth, she was there again to answer breastfeeding questions.  My husband and I highly recommend Rebecca!

Rebecca literally saved my labor/delivery experience! I'm a procrastinator, so of course I was already 39 weeks pregnant when I contacted her but she did not hesitate to step in and support me! Rebecca gave me a sense of confidence that my OB was no wher near close to providing. She told me step by step what to expect during labor and gave me techniqies that got me through the contractions to a natural birth. Even after delivery, Rebecca has been constant support with breastfeeding advice and consult about my own personal recovery. I am forever grateful for her existence and the value she has brought to my life in transitioning to motherhood. She is hands down THE BEST!

I had a wonderful, beautiful med free birth that I honestly don't think would be possible without Rebecca. Before rebecca got there, my husband was trying to help soothe me mentally as well as physically but what he was doing just wasn't working for me to alleviate my physical pain and I didn't know how to explain to him how to help me. Once Rebecca got there she was able to help me TREMENDOUSLY and show my husband how to help me as well so when she needed to go to the bathroom or anything, I wasn't left helpless. Rebecca helped remind me that my body knows what to do and to my doubt myself. I wouldn't have another birth without her.

My wife and I had recently moved to Georgia from Utah and wanted to have a natural and amazing experience with the birth of our son. We were told we were passed due by 2 weeks by our OB, but didn't believe it and refuses to induce. My wife looked up Rebecca online who came over too our house that evening. She worked with us on what to do and what to expect and taught us about how she helps the mother to relax and enjoy the childbirth. The next day, we went into labor and Rebecca was there with us from home to the hospital. 2 hours later with no iv, no induction, no epideral, no pain meds, and no doctor... Only the RNs. We gave birth to a healthy 9lb 5oz baby boy. Rebecca is amazing and her character is strong. Exactly the doulac we wanted!! She is now part of our family and we live her!!!!

My wife and I hired Rebecca to serve as our doula for our second baby. I can tell you she is a MUST have if your wife is planning to have a natural brith. She was instrumental for my wife having a natural and no intervention brith. Rebecca was able to share pain-coping techniques (i.e. breathing, positioning, bathtub). Also, provided immense encouragement and emotional support. I would highly recommend Rebecca if you want to have an EMPOWERED birth.

Rebecca was truly a blessing to me and my family. If I could summarize her in a few words  I would say she is understanding, compassionate, and a cheerleader. She rallies behind you and makes you feel empowered as a woman, as a mother. I would recommend Rebecca to anyone who wants a true advocate during their birth experience - someone who will do everything she can to ensure your wishes and your body are respected. She is a wealth of knowledge and will teach you tricks along the way to help you. I will definitely be using her again!

Rebecca was an AMAZING doula! Her knowledge of pregnancy, the birthing experience, and post-partum is exceptional. Her level of expertise cannot be matched. Her years of experience passion deem her a rare jewel to be treasured by working with her. She's so personable, and it was easy for me to rely on her to be honest and forthcoming with delivery expectations and possibilities. My husband, who had his doubts for a need for this type of service, was beyond impressed as well. It the heat of the moment, she helped us by allowing him to be there for me as the added strength I needed to bring our baby girl into the world. I was attempting a VBAC and came from a lack of knowledge of options after a cesarean through family and friends. But I wanted my daughter's birth to have minimal to no intrusions and as natural as possible. I was iron deficient and also had low platelets and Rebecca was able to tell me how to change my habits to work on building those naturally. With her support, I was able to labor in water, and deliver vaginally, without an epidural at 43 weeks, a happy, healthy nine pound baby girl. Rebecca has truly been an angel and I trust and thank her for leaving open communication for me to reach out to her at any time I feel the need.

Rebecca is an amazing doula! I couldn't have done it without her from beginning to the end. Rebecca's knowledge and expertise made it possible for me to give birth the way I planned. I had such an amazing birth experience with Rebecca that it makes me want to have another child immediately :)

Having Rebecca by our side during the birth experience of our daughter Ruby (as well as always being there for my wife whenever she had a question throughout her pregnancy) was instrumental in making the event a smooth and memoriable one.  We were awarded an extra layer of comfort and confidence that everything was going to be alright knowing that Rebecca and her many years of experience would be with us in every step of the process.  And she was just that!  This was much needed for it was quite a long labor.  If my wife had a question or concern, Rebecca was there for her.  With Rebecca being so focused on my wife and our daughter, this took some pressure off of both of us to just enjoy the moment for what it was as the birth of our first child was something we'll never experience again.  For this I am truly greatful and would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone thinking of choosing a doula for themselves.

Rebecca was an essential part of our birth experience. My husband and I weren’t sure if we were interested in hiring a doula, but from the moment we met Rebecca we knew that we needed her to be a part of our journey. She is incredibly knowledgable, dependable, easy to contact, compassionate, motivating, hilarious, and nurturing! I had a very difficult and long labor that very well could have ended in a c-section but Rebecca’s wisdom, patience, presence, and invaluable knowledge allowed me to accomplish the birth experience I wanted. My husband and I feel so fortunate to have found Rebecca. You absolutely NEED her as your doula. It is worth every penny!

I had a great experience with Rebecca.  She was great and we could not have done it without her.  I was in labor for 32 hours and although Rebecca was at another birth for the beginning of my labor she was in constant contact with me and was there to answer all of my questions and give advice. I also had to push for two hours and Rebecca's support and encouragement was invaluable. I also highly reccomend her placenta encapsulation.  I feel the pills have really helped my energy and mood. Rebecca was great and I highly reccomend her!

I interviewed a few doulas before I met with Rebecca. After meeting with her I knew right away she would be the best fit for me and my husband. I felt so comfortable with her on that first meeting it was like we were friends from the start. She had so much information to share that I knew I could go to her to get answers on any of my questions. Rebecca also offers a childbirth class which we decided to take since this was our first child and we had no idea what to expect. The information that Rebecca goes over is priceless. We covered everything from pre labor all the way through delivery and aftercare. I know other childbirth classes would not have been so thorough. Rebecca was always easy to get a hold of. She responded to text messages almost immediately. When my water broke and I texted her she put my mind at ease and she reassured me of what our plan was. Of course, nothing went as planned but Rebecca was there to guide us. I felt so comfortable having her there knowing she was advocating for me and my baby. She would tell us what the doctors were going to say before they even came in the room so we were prepared and ready to respond. She was with me for almost 2 days! She slept in the chair next to me, got me water, put my hair in a pony tail! It was a long labor and delivery and she was with me every step of the way. Oh, yeah, she took pictures the whole time. She captured the intense moments, the light hearted moments and the life changing moments. I really don’t know what I would have done without her. If you are looking for the best out there you will get it with Rebecca. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.

We had such a wonderful experience with Rebecca from the first consultation to present day. Right away my boyfriend and I felt comfortable and at ease upon meeting Rebecca. We knew we wanted her as our doula, and hired her within 24 hours of meeting her. We hired her for doula services, a childbirth class, and placenta encapsulation. Rebecca was ALWAYS quickly availlable through text/calls at anytime of the day. She's extremely knowledgable and experienced and that brought a huge sense of trust and relief to both my boyfriend and I. The childbirth class was very helpful and to the point. Not to mention, it was done in our own home-very convient for us.

Once I began labor, Rebecca was available to us 24/7 and guided us along my 63+ hour labor start to finish. Once at the hospital, she provided a serene environment, helped with relaxation techniques, massage during contractions, knowledge on certain procedures, advocated for me, kept my family up to date with what was happening, and allowed my boyfriend rest when needed.

After the birth, she brought over my placenta pills-which I never would have gotten if she hadnt fought for my placenta in the OR after my c-section! So thankful to her for that (amongst many other things).

Overall, our birth experience would have been incomplete and much different without Rebecca. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and would recommend her to anyone!!

Rebecca was absolutely a great choice during my pregnancy and labor. She was very caring and genioeun the whole time. I was a vback mom with a transverse baby. She helped me through my pregnancy to position my baby by showing me different type of exercises, and my baby actually turned and I could end up having my vback. She was there during my 21 hour labor, and supported me everyway she could. It was great to have someone I could trust and ask anything any time I wanted during my labor. When the doctor told me that he could use some tools to help me get my baby out before I even tried  pushing my baby, Rebecca made it clear to me that I could push my baby withput worries.I actually pushed him in 30 min, and if she was not there I might have just went along with my doctor's suggestion for no reason. I would recommend Rebecca highly to make other people's labor experience as smooth as possible.

Hands down, Rebecca was the best choice i made during my pregnancy and delivery.  From the first phone interview Rebecca was there day and night to answer my questions and help me prepare for my delivery.  Rebecca was my advocate and always had me and the baby's best interests at heart!  With Rebecca i felt totally prepared for my delivery.  The experience was an amazing right of passage.  The best part...i have total confidence that my birth plan was followed as closely as possible.  I have no regrets and no questions about "why" certain decisions were made because Rebecca was there with us. I'm looking foward to the birth of my next child (one day:) and having Rebecca by my side!

Another husband loved her and she made sure he was active (very active) during my pregnancy and delivery.  He was a huge part of the miracle of our daughter's birth!

I'd recommend Rebecca to every pregnant women regardless of their desire to hire a doula.  She's that important and she's that good!!

Rebecca was and is an absolutely incredible Doula to me.   She has spent hours and hours on the phone with me calming fear and offering information. I had a csection, I will never forget Rebecca helping me as I laid paralyzed  from the waist down unable to properly place my daughter for skin to skin and to feed her for the first time, Rebecca came in and new exactly what I needed she placed my my baby safely and correctly on my chest. I got my placenta encapsulated by her and was moved to tears when she made a cord heart for me, it was a total surprise and something I will cherish forever. She has sense helped me with any breast-feeding question I have or any question about my babies from helping me find the right pediatrician to just offering support to a mama. Honestly the thing I love most about Rebecca is that she genuinely loves and cares for you and your babies, it's not just a job but her calling.

I'm a surrogate and had an all natural hospital 2VBAC. Rebecca was nothing short of amazing and I honestly feel like my birth would've medicated without her. She was really great at taking charge of the situation to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be, like turning down the lights, putting essential oils in a diffuser, playing relaxing music, everything. She also showed my husband how to squeeze my hips and apply counterpressure the right way. She involved him and I loved that, because he wanted to help me be more comfortable too. The birth rebecca attended was the easiest birth I've ever had and never plan on giving birth without her present again!

I researched doulas in Atlanta and Becca was the right fit for our family. She's a mom of 3 and is full of love and positivity and very well experienced. I knew she would provide loving support and guidance along what was sure to be an arduous journey. I leaned on Becca throughout my pregnancy for questions and support with issues that arose (and I had quite a few that I bugged her with) she always responded immediately and with spot on advice every single time. Becca even led a childbirth preparation class for my husband and I that was truly helpful and educational now that I've made it through labor and delivery. Fast forward to our labor, 40 hours total beginning around 4AM and Becca answered the phone immediately, provided advice on when to head to the hospital so we weren't sent home, and checked in every few hours to make sure she arrived at the right time. Upon her arrival at the hospital, I was 'dying' (in my exaggerated opinion) and needed her or meds ASAP. She helped with soothing music, pressure points, guidance through contractions, aromatherapy, and just loving support to help me weather the labor storm as comfortably as possible. She was there to support my husband and make sure that he was able to be active and supportive throughout the entire process. Becca stayed by my side until we were ready for her to go and has checked in on us regularly since we've been home. She even cut my sons umbilical cord for my queasy hubby. I couldn't have made it through labor and delivery without her love and support and would recommend her to anyone who needs a birth experienced friend by their side on the most amazing (and intense) day(s) of their lives!

Invaluable! From the husband aspect, Rebecca services not only were amazing for my wife, but for me they were absolutely superlative. I know for a fact my wife will be writing a distinguishing review of Rebecca as well so I would like to take this opportunity to write what Rebecca meant to me and for my experience. After an explanation from my wife and researching what a Doula is I generalized that they were a "Coach" in the labor room. WRONG!!! First off, after meeting a couple of Doulas I quickly realized that each one is different. When we meet Rebecca and got to know her and she got to know us, my wife and I quickly knew she was the Doula for us. While not being able to spend the back end of our pregnancy with my wife, due to Military reasons, Rebecca corresponded and meet with my wife on various topics in preparation of our birth. That gave me a peace of mind while I was away that my wife did not feel alone. Once I was able to be back with my wife (5 days before the birth) Rebecca spoke with me on what to expect and what to look for when it was time to go to the hospital. After 2 days of contractions it was Rebecca on the phone with me listening in and gathering information and made the call that it was time to go to the hospital. Moments like this, Rebecca gave me the peace of mind that everything was going to be great and my wife could see that through me which gave her the confidence that we can do this. While at the hospital, Rebecca was MY ROCK! She gave me advice to comfort my wife, she showed me techniques to assist with my wife's contractions, she handled the medical staff coming in and out (with our wishes on how we wanted the pregnancy to take place which was preplanned with Rebecca) so I could focus solely on my wife. There was even a time where Rebecca stepped in for me so I could go get a cup of coffee and re-energize for the finish. So to sum up my experience, INVALUABLE!!! I cannot imagine going through this without Rebecca by our side.

When we first contacted Rebecca, we were in a bad place.  We had decided that we needed to switch OB practices, but had not yet found a practice that met all our needs.  She listened to us and immediately recommended the practice that would be the best fit for us.  She contacted the practice to make sure they would accomodate our specific requests (some yes, some no) and communicated all this back to us.  Just talking to her put us at ease and we hired her without hestitation for the birth.

Rebecca accommodated our odd request to schedule our consultation at the last minute and found us a childbirth education class that was flexible with scheduling as well.  She made us feel comfortable and talked us through many decisions, helping us determine what requests we could likely make of the hospital and the midwives and doctors.  For the most part, everything she said turned out to be correct in the end.

We were hoping for a natural labor and vaginal delivery, but our twins were transverse at 39 weeks so we chose to have a c-section.  She came to the hospital brought aroma therapy and heating pads that eased my mysterious back pain (never diagnosed, it disappeared after the surgery and may have been a baby pressing on some nerve or body part).  She was in the OR with me and my partner and reassured me throughout that everything was normal (I really had not prepared myself for the c-section so I had no idea if it was going well or not).

After the birth she went with the babies while they were weighed so that my partner could stay with me.  She rejoined us in recovery and sat with us until she had to leave to do the placenta encapsulation.  On our second day home, she came to the house to check on me.  Having her there throughout the process made me much more relaxed and confident.  Would not give birth again without her and wish we'd found and hired her earlier in the process!

From the very first interaction I knew that Rebecca was exactly what I was looking for in a doula; knowledgeable, kind, compassionate, flexible and affordable. From the very first phone call until today she has been nothing but an absolute God-send. Rebecca was there to answer my every question, and trust me there were many, and cater to my every need during this pregnancy. Being my second pregnancy, I wanted a more holistic experience than I had last time. I wanted a waterbirth. She even recommended a practice that supported that. When a family emergency took me out of state just weeks before delivery, she had a backup doula available in another state (how awesome). Even during labor she was more knowledgeable than some of the medical staff and kept me focused. Thanks to her, I was able to have the birth of my dreams. She never once doubted my ability to deliver unmedicated even when I did and I am forever grateful for her selflessness.

I was a high risk momma at 38 years old. i am plus size, I have hypertension and gestational diabetes. My first birth was a c-section.  I knew after that I wanted a doula and a v-bac For my next birth.  I needed someone comfortable and confident with helping me birth my son in the best possible way.

The things I looked for in my doula was  that I did want anyone bullying me or being wishy washy. I wanted someone smart, not condescending.  I needed someone to help put me at ease as well as my family.

I met Rebecca Gay and instantly liked her. She was knowledgeable and available.  She was easy to talk too.   She helped me weigh the pros/cons of having a second c-section. At 35 weeks I decided I would need a c-section with this birth. She supported me in this decision and assured me she would still be my doula.  Rebecca then helped me with my c-section birth plan.

On November 3,2014 I gave birth to my son via gentle c-section. Rebecca helped during the procedure by calming me and being reassuring.  As soon as my son was ready she brought him to me for skin to skin contact. She was great with my husband, my family and the staff.  She put us all at ease.   My son had complications and was in the Nicu for 20 days. She came to see us and was a great support.

I feel a doula was great during the c-section. I would recommend having a doula if you are in my same situation.  She truly made it a calm and pleasent birth.

Rebecca Gay is attentive, supportive and  smart. She knows her stuff while putting you at ease. I definitely recommend her to anyone needing a doula.  She is not only your doula but your friend. Thanks to her, I had an amazing c-section.

My husband and I were/are first time parents.  Our families are both out of town and we really wanted someone with experience with us during labor and delivery.  I'm the kind of person who does much better when she know's what is about to happen and can therefor feel prepared (as control is not something you get to have).  We hired Rebecca and she was available to us immediately.  I texted/called several times during the pregnancy to ask advice and she was always patient and knowledgeable.

I was diagnosed with macrosomia (big baby) in my 8th month.  Rebecca walked us through all of the likely issues with this and the implications if it was caused by GD.  She anticipated the likely course of medical interventions and provided me with much needed reassurance and support.  I was never diagnosed with GD and we decided to do an induction just before the due date instead of a c-section.  Rebecca again talked me through the pros and cons and having listened to my worries and fears, gave me some solid suggestions for a mechanical induction that she had personal experience with. As the date for my induction came and we had more information about my suitability for induction,  Rebecca again took the time to walk me through the process and to let me know my options.  The day before we went over everything including when it would be best to have her come to the hospital.  She continued this pattern of explaining to me what was about to happen, what my choices were, and what her experience with each of them was.  For this I will be forever greatful.

Rebecca was by my side the entire time (including 1.5 hours of pushing), staying with me through the end of the unanticipated C-section so my husband could go with my son and yet not "leave me" alone.

So for anyone thinking, why would I want a doula if I'm going to get an epidural, having a personal advocate is well worth it.

After having a less than desirable birth with my first son, I was on a mission to make my second very different. After doing an immense amount of research, I knew I needed a doula to help me, coach me and keep me focused. Rebecca did just that for me. She was there to answer any questions I had in the weeks leading up to my labor and helped me make more informed decisions throughout the entire process. She was my ROCK once labor started. I also had my husband and mother there but Rebecca was the only one that I wanted. I needed her in a way that only a laboring women can understand. She knew exactly what to say and do to keep me calm, focused and relaxed during some of the most intense moments of labor. She was there as every contraction came and left my body. She would remind me what miraculous things my body was doing… I was bringing forth life. By my side the entire time, she was reminding me that I COULD do this and that my body was capable. Unfortunately, I also had some issues during this labor but without Rebecca I would not have been able to handle it. I can’t say enough amazing things about her. She even came to visit me a couple of days later to check on baby and me. To this day, she still checks on me. My family and I will forever be connected to her in such a special way. I truly don’t have adequate words to say thank you for all she has done for me. Doulas make all the difference! I love you, Rebecca! :)

As first time parents, my husband and I had no idea what to expect. We tried to prepare as much as possible by reading literature, taking childbirth classes, talking to our parents, etc. Initially, we even debated about whether or not to hire a doula, but I am so glad that we did because our birth would not have been what it was without our doula, Rebecca! At 41 weeks of gestation, I was induced. After two 12 hour doses of Cervidil, I had not dilated at all. At that time, my provider suggested that they administer Pitocin. I was really discouraged and growing both physically and mentally drained, the last thing I wanted was to try another drug. I consulted with Rebecca about the provider’s plan of action and she suggested the insertion of a Foley Bulb Catheter. The Foley Bulb Catheter in conjunction with the Pitocin worked a miracle!! Finally, after 5 hours, I had dilated 5 cm and was well on my way to a successful vaginal delivery. During delivery, Rebecca was the coach and support I needed to get through delivery despite the fact that I had my husband and parents at my side. She served as a great advocate for what I wanted and needed and was very helpful in educating me so that I could make informed decisions about how to proceed throughout labor and delivery. I HIGHLY recommend Rebecca! She has a natural God given gift and is truly passionate about what she does. With Rebecca, you’re not just a client, you’re family.

Rebecca Gay attended to me for the birth of my first child. What drew me to her was her pragmatic, down-to-earth approach combined with her intuitive understanding of the need to provide support to both myself and my spouse during labor and delivery. We interviewed multiple doulas, and a key factor that led us to go with Rebecca was her wealth of experience and the work she has done with Ina Gaskin at The Farm. As it turns out, Rebecca's intuition and expertise were stronger than I could have anticipated.

In the weeks leading up to active labor Rebecca frequently checked in with me, met with me to discuss creating my birth plan, and helped me manage my expectations about the labor process. Rebecca was always readily available to answer any questions or concerns I had (there were a few) and would let me know if she had an event or delivery coming up so that I was aware of her schedule. I would say that Rebecca is someone you should strongly consider working with if you value transparency, honesty, directness, responsiveness, and a hands-on approach towards meeting your needs leading up to and during labor.

Rebecca also understood that my husband and I needed some space during labor, and without my asking, gave us the room we needed for some time during my labor. She did so much for me without being asked: constantly adjusting my monitors so that they could pick up on the baby's heartbeat; helping me labor on the birthing ball in the tub; making sure I had necessary fluids; making sure that the room was filled with aromatherapy (pleasant for both my husband, myself, and the midwife/nursing staff); meeting me at home to help move labor along; providing suggestions for things i could do to help my labor progress in the days/hours leading up to heading to the hospital to deliver; encouraging me about my abilities to handle labor and delivery. To sum it up I would say this: Rebecca knows what she's doing, and she does it well.

When I became pregnant, I knew I wanted to have someone caring for me who would listen to me and be able to provide balanced and knowlegable answers to my questions. When I started seeing the midwife at my local practice, I quickly realized I was not going to get personal care, especially since my baby would be delivered by whichever doctor in my practice was on call. Later in my pregnancy I found out more about doulas and knew I wanted to find one. It seemed to me the best way to have personal care and support during labor. I read different profiles online, but Rebecca's stood out to me. She seemed so qualified and experienced and I felt I could trust her. I interviewed her on the phone and knew instantly she was the one and to look no further. When we met in person she put me completely at ease and I felt comfortable asking her ANYTHING. When I went into labor it was so nice knowing she was there for me every step of the way. When she arrived I immediately felt more secure and relaxed. She was a woman on a mission - to make me as comfortable as possible. I wasn't in the frame of mind to try different positions and techniques for pain relief on my own - I didn't want to move! But Rebecca gently coaxed me through the things she knew from experience would help. It was GREAT! My husband was able to relax and became even MORE involved once she was there to give some direction and stability to us both. The doctor who delivered the baby was brusque and impatient. However, I kept listening to Rebecca because I knew she was there for me and would help make sure I had the natural delivery I was capable of. After the delivery she stayed for a while to talk and get us all settled and acclaimated. I was glowing. I couldn't believe what an empowering, amazing experience it was. I highly recommend Rebecca! Her knowlege and experience, combined with her compassion, kindess and love for mothers and babies makes her everything you want to have in a doula.

I want to start off saying i had the absolute best first pregnancy/birth experience possible all thanks to my doula rebecca gay. I started off my pregnancy at a doctors office that all but fully dismissed me as a person id go do what i had to and leave it never felt comfortable in any way. I was talked at instead of talked to. I told Rebecca about everything i was feeling, knowing her profession, and she fully took me under her wing. She was so extremely supportive, understanding, incredibly patient, and compassionnate through every step of my pregnancy. Never ever showed any irritation at my never-ending questions, always checked up on me, and went out of her way numerous times to make sure i understood everything every single baby step of the way. Right down to the best moment of my life, the most important, when my daughter was on her way and arrived. She sat there and made sure i had absolutely everything i needed, talked me through all options of how to help the pain and delivery, and even suffered the discomfort of sleeping on the hospital floor just to be there for me. To anyone that were to ask id give her the highest recommendation and hope im blessed enough to share any future pregnancy/birth i may have with this incredible woman so that every birth will be as beautiful, peaceful, and as happy as this one. As i said in the beginning it was better than i ever imagined and it never wouldve been half of what it was if it werent for Rebecca.

My first baby was delivered via c-section due to failure to progress. I dilated to 7cm and halted there for 8 hours. I labored for 23 hours when my OB said I had no other choice but to have a c-section. If only I had known better. When we found out we were pregnant with our 2nd baby, we were elated. As soon as I went to my my 1st ob appt, the 1st thing my ob said was "so you're going for a repeat c-section right?" My response was, "absolutely not." I had already researched vbacs and wanted to give it a try. my ob proceeded to tell me all the risks involved with vbacs and that my body was not made to progress during labor. she said it was unlikely that I would be successful with having a VBAC. i was hurt. Throughout the entire pregnancy this was the focal point. I began to feel defeated, like no one was in my corner regarding having this VBAC. I even had a discussion with my doctor about how I felt she was counting me out before I even gave having this baby a try. I consulted with another OB who assured that a VBAC was very possible for me. This was all the hope I needed. I decided then, that I needed to get some back up for this delivery, because a VBAC was what I wanted and a VBAC was what I wanted to get. I knew my body could do it. I just needed some help along the way with knowing my options. I interview Rebecca and we instany hit it off. She was very relatable and her credientials spoke volumes. She truly seemed to know the field and was really knowledgable. Prior and During my labor,  Becca was great! she always made herself available to me. No matter the day, no matter the time. She was Johnny on the spot and always seemed to have a way of putting my fears at ease. She was very instrumental in giving me alternative tx suggestions to discuss with the OB. And I must say, with her help, we were successful in having my VBAC!!! If it wasn't for Becca, I don't think we would have been as successful! Thx for everything Becca! You rocked!

Working with Rebecca Gay on the birth of my third child was an amazing experience. Her knowledge, training,  since of warmth and compassion along with excellent patience was everything I could ask for in a doula. I was about 5 months pregnant when I was introduced to doula sevices through a family member. I was not very knowledgeable in the beginning and she taught and led me in the process of bringing my beautiful daughter in the world. She educated me and assisted me in every step. Answered questions I had from the most obvious to the strangest. If she couldn't tell me she would find out for me. I would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone. She is definitely here to perform the job of being the best Doula for women all over. If she can't do it no one can. Good luck!!!

What can I say about my doula, Rebecca? She was a god-send. When I found out that not only did she have the experience that I was looking for, but that she had also had 2 successful VBAC's of her own, I knew she was the right woman to have in my corner for my VBAC attempt.

I knew that she would "get it" when I talked about the mental blocks that I needed to overcome in order to have a vaginal delivery. She emboldened me with an immediate sense of empowerment and worth when I met her for the first time, and it continued throughout my pregnancy. She ALWAYS told me that I could do it, even when I didn't think so myself.

Unfortunately I did not know to look for a doula with my first pregnancy. I had never heard the word and didn't know of the concept. But I am SO glad that God led me to her for my second pregnancy and birth. With her unwavering support, in concert with the support of my husband, I achieved a beautiful VBAC. And with that, I could truly put the demons from my first birth experience to rest. I HIGHLY recommend Rebecca.

I am very grateful for all of Rebecca Gay's help during my pregnancy and after my baby was born. I chose Rebecca because of her hospital VBAC experience. I had two prior cesareans and wanted to try again for a vaginal birth. I knew it would be a challenge since my body tended to both build large babies and go past 42 weeks gestation so I needed someone tough to help me through a difficult journey. Rebecca fit the bill 100%. My first obstacle came when my provider surprised me at 35 weeks with the expectation that I would pay her hourly out of pocket for my VBAC even though the insurance covered 100%. I couldn't afford to pay and Rebecca quickly helped me find a new provider. My next obstacle was to try to go into labor before my 41 weeks were up. Rebecca sent me every trick in the book and consulted with her vast network to find natural ways to help me get into labor. When my body refused, she came with me to speak with the backup OB to ask for more time. She helped me through some serious soul searching and supported me. My ultimate decision was to consent to a repeat surgery. She called me before my surgery to encourage me and advise me on how to get skin to skin contact in the operating room so that I would not have my baby separated from me.  After my surgery, Rebecca spent the night at the hospital with me so that I could keep my baby with me and not have to check him into the nursery. She was with me every step of the way through a lot of emotional challenges and I am so grateful that I had her to help me navigate through it. Even though I didn’t have the VBAC that I wanted, I feel at peace with the outcome and I do not think that I could have achieved that without Rebecca.

To Whom It May Concern:

With pleasure, I am writing this recommendation letter for the Doula services provided by Rebecca Gay during my natural VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 cesareans). In meeting with Rebecca for the first time, I immediately felt at ease and comfortable with her demeanor. She is very down to earth and relatable. She was knowledgeable and listened to me intently as I explained my wishes for my birth experience. Being a mother in pursuit of a VBAC, sometimes it can be difficult to explain to someone why it is so crucial to succeed. This was unnecessary with Rebecca. Having had a VBAC herself, she completely understood and could empathize with all of the intense emotions I was feeling.
The time leading up to my labor was somewhat stressful as my doctor did not want me going past my due date. Rebecca was phenomenal during this time. She was able to suggest natural methods to help prepare my body for labor and even put me in touch with an excellent specialist in acupressure to further assist me. She was available 24 hours a day to answer any questions and quell any of my nervous concerns for labor.

During my labor, Rebecca was at the hospital with me from beginning to end. She breathed through every contraction with me and reassured me constantly that my baby and I were beyond capable of success. She provided calming melodies, aromatherapy and massage during labor that were essential in helping me to relax and let my body take control.
My daughter was born naturally into a stress-free environment and Rebecca was the glue that allowed my birth story to come together. With her assistance, I was able to accomplish what many thought was impossible. Rebecca helped me believe in myself and my body again. She was imperative in helping me to re-empower my sense of self. I am forever grateful for the services she provided and would hire her again without hesitation.

Rebecca was absolutely wonderful as our doula. I am SO happy that we had her with us.She met with us before to discuss what she offers and cater to whatever needs we had for the labor and delivery. She suggested and applied all the right techniques to get through labor and delivery. Not only was she there before and during but met with us later at our home to follow up. She answered any baby related questions we had and has really made our 1st baby experience a smooth and easy experience. I would definitely recommend her!!

I don't know what we would have done without Rebecca. We hired her as a postpartum doula, with our first baby, after my wife had an unexpected C-section. She took care of my wife and my baby and did cooking, light housekeeping, and kept up with our baby's laundry- all while staying up with our baby and helping my wife who could do practically nothing after her surgery. We wanted our baby to be breastfed but after our stay in the hospital, and an awful experience with our nurse, my wife's nipples were very damaged. We were ready to give up but thank God we didn't have to! Rebecca knew exactly what to do and our baby was able to be exclusively breastfed, which is what we wanted. Rebecca was with us as temporary live-in for the first week and honestly I don't know how we could have done it without her. When she left we felt secure and knowledgeable enough to carry on. I can't recommend her enough. Well worth every penny spent!

Rebecca gay spent a week with my family when we got home from the hospital with our first child. She was extremely helpful and very professional. She helped with my healing, worked with my husband and most importantly took loving care of my newborn. She taught me the baby care basics and helped me understand my baby's likes and dislikes. I highly recommend her. She has a real passion for her work! Money well spent.

When my wife came to me with the idea of having a doula at our daughter's birth I was skeptical.  I didn't know what a doula was and  I felt insulted that my wife wanted someone else at the birth. I thought she doubted my ability to be there for hery. In spite of my feelings I agreed to meet with Rebecca and hear what she had to say. That was probably my first good decision as a Dad.

Rebecca didn't try to take my place. From the very first visit she was all about showing me how to help my wife and how to be there for her in a helpful way. She gave me ideas and made suggestions I would have never considered. I  knew I wanted to help, but had no idea how to really help my wife.

Leading up to the big day Rebecca was a constant support by text, email, and phone. She always returned our calls and texts very quickly. Then the day finally came Rebecca met us at our house in the middle of the night. We didn't even know if my wife, Karla was in labor. She brought a bag full of massage things and good smelling stuff which we both loved. Because Rebecca was there the contractions never seemed to overwhelm us. It was like we were on top of them from the very first second. when my Mom came she helped integrate my Mom into the birth team by giving her something to do. It made my Mom feel needed and it kept her happy.

Alot of our friends have kids; we have heard our share of nightmare birth stories. I always tell them ours was wonderful and its because we hired a doula. Rebecca is definitely going to be part of any other births we have. We highly reccommend her to anyone who is wanting a doula. She knows how to be there when you want her there and back off so you can have private time when you need it. And if you are worried about the cost, don't. The amount of time she spend on the phone, in emails, and in person was far more valuable than what we actually paid her. I really can't imagine my wife having a baby without a doula.

Rebecca came over and was such a help. I was struggling to get my baby to latch and clueless when it came to pumping (where/when it is appropriate to incorporate). Not only did she give me the confidence I needed to get through my frustrations, she also helped me and my husband better understand how to work together in the feeding process. Before her visit I didn't know how my husband could help even though he wanted to.

Rebecca is amazing. She has all the right things and knows just what mommies want. I got Doula'd over the weekend (before my baby was even born!!!). I had a back ache, swollen cankles and heartburn. She treated me with scented oil, heated rice sock, back with massage thingy's, ankle rub and a ginger prego pop for the heartburn. Oh yeah and guided imagery relaxation. All better! Now I can't wait to have the baby with her!
