Lisa is a serious lifesaver. We had a really hard baby and were at our wits end because for 12 weeks we had only slept 40 minutes at a time (our son had allergies to just about everything). Lisa came in and not only allowed us to rest, but gave us peace of mind from day one. Her wonderful nature with our son as well as towards us meant everything. Her suggestions were always amazing and her funny personality was something we always looked forward to. We look forward to keeping Lisa in our life, even though our baby needs have been completely met.
Lisa was my doula for my 2nd baby. My 1st birth left me feeling scared of being mistreated in a hospital. Lisa listened to my story & asked questions to see how she could help. She could not promise a specific birth outcome, but said she would do everything possible for a better experience. She provided evidence-based info so I could make the best decisions possible. She was there through my whole labor. She had so many suggestions to help baby move her way down. She had that special “doula touch” through her words & touches that helped me stay focused. She helped remind me as well as the staff of my wishes for the birth. When contractions picked up, she helped keep my space sacred & calm. She stayed completely focused on my needs & said just the right things that I needed to hear as things got more difficult. When I chose to get an epidural, I felt like a failure & expressed that. She supported me in a time that was so difficult. She told me that we could still rock my VBAC. She told my doctor I wished to pull my daughter out, and I have that moment to remember. When my daughter was home, Lisa checked in to see how we were doing. She asked how breastfeeding was going, how I was feeling, if I had questions about newborn care, & helped me process the birth. Having Lisa present for this birth was a huge decision to make, & I would make it over & over again. After such a difficult experience with my first baby, I cannot put into words how huge this was for me. She was phenomenal & I gladly recommend her to others. You can tell that this is truly her passion. Thank you for being that keeper of my safe space, Lisa. I cannot put into words how thankful I am for your help and how awesome it was for you to be there to help welcome my daughter into the world. You kept such a kind and gentle presence around us all. I’m so glad that you do what you do.

Lisa is a wonderful abdoula and I would have never thought that giving birth to a beautiful child could be so relaxing. She was so supportive and helped me get through it. When I didn't know what to do Lisa was there to take over for me. Lisa was there for us before and after my birth, answered any questiions and even researched things for me. She began by helping me put together my birthing plan. She let me know of all the ways I could choose from. We went over all the details of who was to be there with me and whether or not I wanted to recieve the epideral. So when it did come time to go to the hospital, she was there right away and took care of me and helped me relax and breath. She stayed with me the whole time and made sure that she got ahold of my family. I was so thankful and blessed to have had her with me. I wouldn't change that for anything in the world. She also stayed close right after birth for any questions or if I needed help, which I did. She helped me to learn how to breastfeed. If I had known what doulas do for you during your pregnancy and birth I would have had her for my first child as well. She took the time to get to know me and my family, which was very comforting, and to this day she remains a part of our lives and will continue to be. I love you Lisa and I thank God for you being in my life. I will always relish in the memories we made together. XOXO
Little did I know what I was getting into with this baby!!! But thankfully, Lisa guided me through everything I needed. I had never been around babies before and needed alot of guidance and help. Lisa was always there for me, answering questions during the latter part of my pregnancy and teaching me everything I needed to know. To make matters a little more difficult, I have a skin disease that flared up during my pregnancy and Lisa would help me in the shower everyday making it easier on me. I don't know what I would have done without her caring attitiude and love for what she does. When we went to the hospital my birth plan was to use an epidural if it got bad, when I hit 5 cm I caved in and she supported whatever I wanted to do. However, it was not meant to be as the anesthesiologist refused to do one because of my skin problem. I was in hysterics! Lisa took control for a few brief shining moments when I needed her the most and got me focused, and ready to birth this baby naturally. She danced and swayed with me through the next few hours and labor progessed very well, my little man was born naturally into the world with only 3 pushes! Lisa helped me everyday after the baby was born as well. And boy did I need her help! I had no idea all the things that I needed to do for a baby lol. I would highly recommend Lisa for birth doula or postpartum doula anytime. She is wonderful and caring with deep seated knowledge to guide you.
My experience with Lisa was heaven sent. My name is Jenna Lee and I met Lisa when I was 6 months pregnant. At that time my significant other worked on the road for 6 weeks at a time. Mind you my family lives in Ohio, and I live in TN, so I didn't have any family around to be here in Tn for Maxton's birth. My due date was on December 1st, 2011 and I met Lisa in September 2011. I explained to Lisa my situation and that I am interested in her being my Doula. She replied with such gratitude. Lisa mentioned that she was moving to California by November 26th, 2011. Lisa explained to me that she would be here for me 24/7, no matter what the reason.
On November 13th I was very sick with flu like symptons at home alone.I called Lisa for answers, and with no hesitation she came over to our place to make sure I was ok. Lisa brought Chamomile Tea and ginger ale. I started having contractions, and could not keep any fluids down. Lisa was worried for the baby, and my health. We went to the hospital to get checked, and to find out I was only dehydrated. Lisa sat by my side the whole time, made me feel at ease.
Lucas came home the next day. I was praying that Max would born earlier than his due date so Lisa could have been there for moral support. Unfortunately, she left and went to Cali before I had Max. I know that she would have been an excellent doula. Reason being for her motivation, positivity, down to earth attitude. I swear she is an angel sent from heaven. She is a wonderful person, and you have my stamp of approval.
