Where can I even begin? Leslee has been not only an incredible support/doula to our family but a dear friend. We felt immediately comfortable with her from the get go. She was very knowledgeable and professional. We had a ton of questions being first time parents and she was very patient. Due to unforeseen circumstance we were not able to have  at our birth. However, she was able to place us with another doula who was able to assist us. I'm currently pregnant with baby #2 and I cannot wait to have Leslee by my side. Her calm nature and gentle touch is one of the many reasons I love her and choose to have her as our doula.

Leslee came in as a back-up doula for me about half way through my 40 hour labor when my daughter was born over three years ago. It was the first time I'd met her, but despite the fact that we had not had any time prior to my labor to develop a relationship, it was as if I had known her for years. The transition from my prior doula to her was seamless. Leslee was supportive, compassionate, knowledgeable, and helped me make quick decisions when complications arose during labor and immediately after birth. She was by my side for a good number of hours and made me feel so much more secure because I knew I had an ally in Leslee. Additionally, she provided me with invaluable informational and emotional support when I had trouble establishing breastfeeding, and several years later I still consider her a friend. Leslee is an amazing doula and an amazing person and I could not give a higher recommendation.

Leslee is such a wonderful and supportive presence from pregnancy to birth to postpartum.  Having a doula like Leslee is like having a knowledgeable best friend to guide through your entire birth experience and beyond.  She will be there with you to make sure you have exactly what you need before you even know you need it.  Tirelessly bright and funny, Leslee is a woman I would trust with absolutely anything.

I think it's also important to point out that a good doula like Leslee can be a kind of therapist - someone to provide you with an ear, with reassurance, with a warm hug.  I did not have easy birth experiences with either of my children, and yet, I remember them both fondly and without trauma or remorse.  I have that peace of mind in large part because I had a wonderfuly wise midwife and a wonderfuly wise doula, Leslee, to guide and support me.  With them by my side, I knew that whatever happened, everything would be all right - that I was enough.  They made me feel confident, comfortable, and empowered.

I cannot say enough about Leslee Boldman - She is absolutely one of the most incredible people I have ever met. So knowledgable and informative but also very caring and supportive. Meeting with her just "clicked" for me from the beginning and having her as my doula was the smartest decision I made concerning my birth journey. She completely goes above and beyond what you would ever expect someone to do for you, your partner and your family - before, during and after the birth. I know that it is because of her that I was able to educate myself confidently, face the problems I encountered with confidence, and continue to grow as a mother with support. She has so many skills that as a client I was able to utilize, but in addition to that she has such a big heart and comforting nature. My partner, my family, the hospital staff and even my midwife and M.D. were so thankful for her presence, her contribution and her guidance. There are many great doulas out there I'm sure - but if you want someone whose passion shines through in everything she does, just do whatever you have to do to have her as your doula. I can't imagine my journey without her and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to have her as part of my team that led me into motherhood.

What do I even say about Leslee? She was amazing from well before my son's premature arrival until well after his birth, caring for him for a year after he was born and came home. She helped my husband and me think through what I had control over in a scary pregnancy, marked with bedrest and trips to a high risk OB, culminating in an emergent c-section at 32 weeks gestation. She visited with me afterward and comforted me when I needed it. Leslee is an amazing support - I felt empowered as we prepared for my son's birth, and was so grateful to have her with us, even if our first choice in birth plans didn't come to fruition. Thank you, Leslee. <3 We love you!

Leslee was an amazing asset to our birth team. We were planning a VBAC, and even though we did not have the birth we wanted, she was essential in making the situation the best that it could be. When we were being bothered by one of the OBs, she was with me working through contractions while my husband dealt with the OB. She encouraged me to rest and stay hydrated, things that were far from my mind at the time but very important. (I opted out of having the IV fluids because of problems I had the previous time.) She encouraged us to take the time we needed to make decisions, in spite of our pushy nurse. (Nobody was in danger, so we had plenty of time.) I have to share that there was a point where I was laboring and started to vomit. My own mother fled, but Leslee dove toward me to catch the puke (using a barf bag). That's dedication!

When we knew we were heading to the OR, she went over the plan we'd discussed to make sure that I got the things that were really important to me, things that weren't crossing my mind at that point. I wish she could have been in the OR with me, but hospital policy wouldn't allow it. She came into the recovery room and helped us establish breastfeeding (something that I hadn't been able to do in my previous birth). During her postpartum visit, she asked how things were going, and I told her some concerns I was having with nursing. She quickly identified the issue and gave us suggestions for how to correct the problem. I went from being ready to give up to having a successful breastfeeding relationship with my son, who weaned at 2.5. I cannot suggest Leslee enough! She was consistantly calm, supportive, and kowledgable.

Leslee Boldman was a much needed attrition to our birth experience. She met with my husband and I several times while we made our decision about which Doula to choose. Leslee, at the birth, provided physical and emotional support to me throughout labor. She encouraged me when I verbally doubted my ability. She applied counter pressure during my contractions. Leslee even brought honey sticks, which was my saving grace on hour 16. After our son was born Leslee provided valuable information about breast feeding. I owe my son latching correctly to her!

Having Elijah was the beginning of the most important role of my life. My husband Jim and I were very fortunate to have Leslee as our doula. Initially, Jim and I did not think we needed the services of a doula; however, Leslee’s presence made a marked difference easing my anxiety during labor. Leslee was both emotionally and physically supportive throughout the birthing process. Leslee exceeded our expectations and provided additional guidance after Elijah was born. Leslee respected our decisions and helped ensure that we had a memorable first experience with our son. We are grateful she shared this very important moment in our lives. We would highly recommend Leslee to expectant parents.

I have to admit…when Leslee first asked if we were considering using a doula during the birth of our first child, I had no idea what a doula was. And my interpretation of some on-line definitions made me worried that a doula would make my husband Mike feel left out in the delivery room. But when Leslee explained that, as a doula, she would provide support for both Mike and me, I wondered why everyone didn’t use one. Now I can’t imagine what that experience would have been like without Leslee’s support. Even though Mike and I took every pregnancy class, all that knowledge seemed to go quickly out the window in the excitement and panic of labor. And this wasn’t a situation where we could quickly refer to class notes! As a doula, Leslee knew our birth plan, so she was the level-headed one who worked in harmony with the hospital nurses and our midwife to help us stay true to our plan and make sure we were well-informed when things didn’t go according to that plan. She even showed Mike how he could help me during labor when both he and I weren’t sure what to do. And while the nurses and our midwife were in and out during the labor because they had other patients to see, Leslee was there for us from the time we got to the hospital until after the birth. In fact, Leslee was the reason I had any success at breastfeeding. She was there to provide encouragement and guidance when I was feeling discouraged in those first few days after our daughter's birth. We are so glad that a doula was part of our childbirth experience and even more glad that doula was Leslee. She is knowledgeable, professional and caring, and we would use her again in a heartbeat!

Leslee -

When I told Jesse I wanted a doula ("a what?") for Colin's birth, I think he thought I was nuts. ;o) But after explaining what a doula was and being the supportive husband he is, he said OK (probably very reluctantly). So to doula speed dating I went! When I first met you, your passion for being a doula was completely evident. I could tell that you wanted to make sure all women have a supportive advocate during labor.  And when I expressed my concern for Jesse (ya know...during all the "medical" parts of labor) you immediately made it known he would be priority too! I was sold!

Your contant encouragement and positive attitude was so motivating and uplifting. You made me feel like I could do anything (and continue to make me feel like I can even today)! Jesse was so grateful you were there too. I'm pretty sure he  thinks your services were the best money we've ever spent...that's over video games and electronics so you know that's good! ;o)

In all seriousness, Jesse and I are so thankful for you and we know we couldn't have done it without you there! I am glad I can not only call you my doula but my friend! We HIGHLY recommend you to everyone!

Leslee, I am so grateful that I had you as my doula. The faith you had in me and my body gave me the courage to aspire for a natural childbirth, something I NEVER thought I would want to do, much less be able to do. Thanks to the support you provided to me and to Aaron, I was able to have the most amazing delivery, beyond anything I could have dreamed of. Your emotional support was just the thing I needed during my pregnancy, and being able to call you with questions was a huge comfort. (I’m also pretty sure that if it weren’t for you, Aaron would have talked me into staying at home longer, and I would have given birth in the car, but that’s another issue altogether!) Thanks to your presence in the delivery room, Aaron and I were able to have a stronger connection because he was free to focus on me, knowing you were there as our advocate. The day Addison was born was the best day of my life and my proudest achievement, and I truly believe it would not have been possible without you. Having you with us was a beautiful gift. Thank you!

Leslee is a loving person and an amazing Doula.  Leslee helped us have the natural, unmedicated hospital birth experience that we wanted.  She is very knowledgeable and was able to answer the questions that we had before and during labor.  Leslee's counter-pressure on my lower back felt so good during intense contractions; she had many great ways to help me labor comfortably.  When our son needed to visit the NICU immediately after his birth, Leslee stayed with me while my husband went to be with our baby.  It was so nice to have her there to support me during that uncertain time.  We have since hired Leslee for postpartum services and our families have a continued friendship.  We are very happy that we chose Leslee to be our Doula and we highly recommend her to others looking for labor and postpartum support.
