Angela was such a gift you our family in the first few months of our son's life. From the moment she came into our home, we felt supported by her warm demeanor and knowledge. Highly recommend her services to anyone in need of postpartum care.

Angela is just the best. The BEST! She has supported our family for both our first and second children and she still occasionally watches our kids (now ages 3 yrs and 6 mos) on the weekends when we are going to be out of cell service because we feel so comfortable and confident with her. She is incredibly knowledgeable about everything from infant care to parenting struggles to dealing with the postpartum body/mind. Our first child was born during COVID; we had no support system outside of her and she was an absolute sanity-saver. She taught us how to be confident as new parents and I still marvel at her ability to anticipate needs I didn't even know I had. With our second child we were actually able to have have family over to help and, to be blunt, it just made me appreciate her more. Not only is she incredibly competent with our kids, but she somehow manages to organize the house, clean and fold the laundry (Marie Kondo would be proud), water the plants, etc., all while wearing my peaceful sleeping baby in her ring sling. It's quite inspiring to behold! I am so thankful for the efficiency, thoughtfulness, and ease she brings to our house.

Angela of Tula Doula Deserves 10 stars! As a postpartum doula, she helped take care of my baby so that I could sleep and get some basic things done the first few months, and I still called on her throughout our first year. Not only did I learn a lot as a first mom but she would come in and find things that needed to be done that I didn’t know that needed to be done. My house is always in better shape when she left than when she got there. She really does go above and beyond. She’s extremely trustworthy, reliable and was Covid conscious and communicated transparently about any potential risks. She’s even rearranged her schedule to help me last minute before. I had no trouble handing my baby off my first week home with the baby when I really desperately needed to get sleep at night. I knew he was in good hands. She also helped me to teach him how to soothe himself, and I think this is why he’s such a good sleeper as of three months. She also helped me very last minute by attending my C-section as a birth doula, And I have wonderful pictures in a summary timeline of what happened which I placed in my baby book.??Angela. Do not hesitate to hire her.

Angela is such an amazing doula and wonderful human being; I could not recommend her enough! She came to us when my second child was just a few weeks old and helped with everything home and baby related that a new mother needs. She got him to nap, helped with laundry and dishes, and tidied up our space so that I was able to nap and wake up to a fresh home. She had lots of very helpful advice about breastmilk safety, sleep, play, and health. She is open to many parenting styles and has worked in the birth world in several different capacities, so she's very experienced. I've recommend her to several friends and they all love her! She is also great with our 4 year old daughter. I only wish we would have had doula Angela for our first baby as well!

Angela was a huge benefit for our new family the first few months post-partum. She has great communication skills, and was flexible, proactive, sweet with the baby, and overall incredibly helpful during her time. Angela also provided us with parenting tips and was generally very supportive to new parent struggles. I'd highly recommend her services especially for new families. You rock, Angela!

Angela was an amazing post partum doula. I feel so lucky to have had her support during such an epic transition in my life. The fourth trimester is real and was challenging for me in ways I did not expect from slow healing and pelvic floor therapy to very different relationships with my family. Her support made it possible for me to catch up on sleep and have the time I needed to heal and recover. She also helped my husband and I grow our confidence as parents. We didn't have a local family support network and she really became a part of our family. She was able to listen and respond to our needs with so much warmth and thoughtfulness, whether that be how to get LO to nap or how to deal with changing family dynamics after having a baby. We will be forever grateful for her support ??

Angela is a true angel and helped us so much in the first couple of months of our son’s life. When I first approached my husband about a postpartum night doula he was skeptical, but after our first night with Angela he asked if we could have her come help us every night! Those precious extra moments of sleep made her services worth every penny. Angela is also incredibly calm and confident, and whenever my son had a cold or struggled with something, I felt safe leaving him in her care. She is also a great resource and gave me great advice about everything from baby sleep to breast feeding issues I had. In those early days postpartum, it’s so comforting to have someone like Angela to lend a helping hand or calming advice. I would recommend her to anyone and would absolutely use her services again.

Angela was fantastic. She was so on top of everything: anticipating needs before we even knew we had them. I had had a c section birth and we also had a 3 year old, so certainly needed a lot of support. Angela was able to do everything--she was amazing with our toddler, she folded and neatly folded laundry, organized bottles, brought me the baby and whisked her away again when I was done nursing. She was kind, action-oriented, efficient, warm and dependable. Highly highly recommend!

Angela provided overnight newborn care for our second child.  She was a tremendous help to us and we would definitely work with her again.  Angela was calm and gentle with our baby, and professional and collaborative with us.  She was responsive to text and email, on time, adapted easily to our less-than-optimal setup (which involved her and baby camping in the living room), and provided detailed notes after every shift.  She also helped us evaluate our baby's sleep issues and encouraged us to get additional support from our pediatrician, which ultimately led to a reflux diagnosis and getting the help we desperately needed for him. In addition, Angela was easy to work with around Covid precautions and communicative and open with us about her Covid risk exposure, so that we could manage our risk as we wanted to.  We're so grateful to have had her support and recommend her to others without reservation.

This is written by a husband who slept with our newborns and woke up everytime for night feeds (to keep my wife accompany) when we had our first kid.

For our second, we knew we needed to find a postpartum doula who could provide overnight support. Thanks to Angela, I was able to get some much-needed rest during those first few weeks. I still remember one day when I woke up and my wife told me our baby had just gone through a growth spurt - and it was Angela who had been holding the baby between feeds. Sleep deprivation can cause a lot of tension and arguments between spouses, and having a reliable person like Angela to help was invaluable.

Angela also helped us stay organized when our baby was asleep. If anyone I know is looking for a doula, I would highly recommend they contact Angela.

Angela came to our family at a time when we were in crisis. We had our baby at the height of the pandemic, and having just moved to the area, we lacked a support network. Ten months later the baby was still not sleeping. We were tired beyond belief and desperately needed help. Even though Angela normally works with families in the immediate postpartum period, she came to our rescue. She did overnights so we could get some much needed sleep, and eventually as the baby started sleeping more regularly through the night, she started coming during the day to watch the baby so that we could have a break. The baby loves her - they read books and play games - while somehow Angela miraculously also folds all the laundry, cleans the kitchen, and preps dinner. We would hire Angela again in an instant and miss working with her. She had so many good ideas about sleep, feeding, and baby wearing. She is really well connected to other resources and experts. She is also just plain nice, and exactly what our family needed.

I don't know what we would have done without Angela! We had our first child a year ago during the height of the COVID pandemic when our family couldn't travel and come over to help. Angela was with us right after the baby was born and anticipated needs I didn't even know I had as a first-time parent. She is a wealth of knowledge on everything infant and postpartum and deftly handled every question we threw at her had on childcare. She helped me with my nursing issues with my premie, taught us pro-tips on things like bathing and diapering (we were VERY inexperienced parents), all while helping us keep our house together and thinking of everything down to making sure I had a full glass of water nearby while I was nursing. She is also a master "baby-wearer" and showed us how to use ring slings and other types of carriers. My husband would sometimes marvel at her as she would wear my baby while simultaneously cleaning the dishes and organizing the house (more efficiently that I would even WITHOUT a baby). She is the absolute best and if we end up having another child we won't hesitate to hire her again!

Angela is simply fantastic. Not only is she a kind an patient caregiver, but she is energetic and ready to help in any way possible. When we had our second child, she was ready to handle either kiddo, giving us some much needed time and space to handle all of the things that have to get done. I highly recommend her for any post-natal needs, having assistane in the fourth trimester made everything so much easier than I could have ever imagined.

Angela was so wonderful. She helped out with my immediate post partum period, playing with my older child, keeping house in order and making sure I had everything I needed. She is SUPER knoweldgeable and has been working in birth for over a decade. She helped with baby wearing, nursing questions and general newborn questions. We loved working with her so much she stayed on a couple extra months helping with our older child as he adjusted to life with a baby. Which TBH he did not mind at all because he loved having Angela around. They played games, did art, all the things. Highly reccomend Angela as a post partum doula!

Angela was recommended to me for placental encapsulation. I never really thought about my placenta until I saw it after being in labor and I was moved. It had worked with me for 9 months, helping sustain and nourish the life that is my daughter. In that moment I was thankful I had chosen encapsulation, as I didn't want this organ to go to waste. Encapsulating it and taking the pills to further help my system postpartum was a way for me to acknowledge and honor it. Angela was the perfect person for the job! She's a lovely, lovely human being, and handled my placenta with respect and expertise. She even sent me beautiful photos of it. I was very pleased with my experience!

I had completely forgot to hire someone to encapsulate my placenta until I was in labor! My Doula recommended Angela and contacted her for me. Angela came to the hospital, picked up my placenta, and brought me the capsules 2 days later at my home. She did a wonderful job and was super easy to work with! Angela also took pictures during the encapsulation of my placenta an emailed then to me, which was great because I was very curious to see what it looked like. I highly recommend her!

Angela was an incredible source of support for me and my wife during our labor experience. She is kind and patient, and very knowledgable about positions and recommending exercises during birth. She was highly communicative, always responding to text messages and requests very quickly and professionally. I am not sure what we would have done in labor without Angela there and I would recommend her to anyone without reservation.

I would very much recommend Angela Ertel and Tula Doula for anyone thinking about placenta encapsulation.  (I'm sure she would also be a fantastic doula, but I did not work with her in this capacity.)  Angela VERY promplty picked up my placenta from the hospital and delivered the pills to my home two days later.  She was very easy to work with, very friendly, and very encouraging.  I am very appreciative to have worked with her and would definitely do it again.  Thank you!

We decided to look into using a doula only 4 weeks before my due date with my second. I felt comfortable with Angela right away. At our initial meeting she helped me feel excited for our upcoming birth experience and instilled me with confidence that this could be the experience we were wanting. I hoped to have an unmedicated birth this time around (my first was induced and medicated), but appreciated that she was open to whatever we wanted or needed should circumstances change.

As it turned out, our little one came a couple of weeks early and very quickly - before we'd had a chance to meet with Angela a second time. My main concern with having a doula was that it would feel odd to have a stranger in the room. But with Angela this concern evaporated. She did a great job being present when we needed her and knowing when to be more in the background. Even though we didn't need her expertise in different laboring positions since things moved so quickly, it was reassuring to know that we'd have someone there to remember all the things we knew we'd forget in the heat of the moment. She was essential in enabling me to maintain my routine as things became more intense. Angela did an excellent job ensuring that our needs were met and that the birth experience was what we wanted it to be. I also enjoyed our post-partum meetings, where she was very helpful and willing to provide us with any resources we might need as we transitioned to two children. I would definitely recommend Angela to anyone thinking about using a doula!
