I came across Maddy's profile while searching for a doula. Her volunteer work with young and under privileged mothers drew me to her.

My first meeting with Maddy she listened patiently as I cried and told her how traumatic my first birth was to me. When my partner met Maddy she carefully explained the role of a doula and assured him she was not there to take his place.

Communication with Maddy was so easy. I could text, call, or email anytime with questions or concerns. She followed up with me after each prenatal visit. She helped me prepare my mind and body for the unmedicated VBAC I so desperately wanted.

When the time came she never doubted me. Although my labor was so fast she wasn't able to labor with me at home with me I still felt she was with me. It was such a relief to see her face as they rushed me into labor and delivery. My labor was hard and fast and she stayed with me holding my hand, whispering birth affirmations, keeping me strong and showing my partner how to comfort and support me. She even captured those precious moments when my baby was born.

Maddy followed up after the birth to be sure I was okay and provided me with breastfeeding resources. She held my hand as I cried and thanked her for being such an essential part of this birth. Maddy is my hero. I couldn't have done this without her. She will always be family to me.

A friend referred me to Madeline when I first became pregnant with my second child. I had remembered my friend telling me about her amazing doula and I wanted to have that same experience with this pregnancy so I set up a time to meet with her right away. Throughout my pregnancy Madeline would check in on me and would always answer immediately when I had questions. I was originally planning to birth in the hospital or a birth center but told Madeline about my dream of having a homebirth. She made me feel confident and encouraged me to seek out a homebirth midwife. She helped me get an amazing midwife and I never would have been able to do it without Madeline. She texted me asking how I was the day I went into labor and at the time that she texted me I told her I was good but still was not in labor. About 10 minutes later I had my first contraction. We stayed in contact the rest of the day. When I felt like I needed her to come over she was already packed up and ready to come to my house. She was such a great support during my labor. She made sure that I had everything I needed and she provided great counter pressure. If you've ever had a baby before you know how important that is :) Since I had my baby we have kept in touch and if I ever have another baby I'd love for her to be my doula again.

Maddie was such a comfort during my 21 hour labor. She was supportive of all of my labor choices, and made sure I was aware of my options. She came up with lots of ways for me to manage labor pains. She definitely enhanced my birth and helped it to be a beautiful experience!

Being a first time mom and attempting to do a natural birth, I knew I needed all hands on deck. Maddy was there to help make my dream birth possible and I couldn't thank her enough! As the long days of third trimester came to an end, she made sure I was feeling okay and had all the resources I needed to get through. My due date came and went along with a bout of prodromal labor that had me feeling really down and discouraged. I'm grateful that Maddy helped get me back in a positive state of mind and she reminded me to advocate for myself when I started to doubt what to do with my labor. Long story short, I ended up getting induced and experienced what would be the most challenging and powerful experience of my life. If Maddy wasn't there to help me through each contraction, there was NO WAY I would have delivered naturally. Giving birth naturally is an AMAZING experience that will change you forever and I'm so blessed to have had Maddy right by my side every step of the way!!

I can't say anymore than this is the best decision I've ever made! Maddy made this entire process soooo comforting and so much easier. I'm pretty sure I bugged her to death with my paranoia but she took it like a champ and supported me throughout it all. She helped calm my mom during my actual birth, as well as supported my husband. She gave me so much information I otherwise would have never had known. Might I add, much needed, useful information. I am forever greatful for undivided attention.

Maddy was awesome!  I could not have done it with out her.  My labor was long (4days!)  She was available to me anytime I had questions, concerns.  It helped ease my mind during early labor.  She was a wealth of knowledge and resources.  During active labor, she was by my side.  My husband was there too, but he was a basket case (he did the best he could, lol)  It was nice to have someone there who knew the process, my wishes, and could translate docter terms to laymans terms.  It was a long grueiling process and she was there the whole time.  I knew she understood more of what I was going through than my husband could.  I would recommend her to anyone.  One of the best decisions I made during my pregnancy!

Post both she was a great help when it came to questions-- especially about breastfeeding. I wouldn't chose anybody different!!

My first labor and delivery experience, prompted me to find a more meaningful way to experience my labor and delivery this time around. I liked the idea of engaging a doula , but I knew that the doula had to be someone that was not just right for me and my partner. On Doulamatch.com, I found her, her name was Madeline "Maddy" Dillon and I loved everything I read about her as she seemed to have the personality and experiences that we were looking for and the someone my family needed to help us through our labor and delivery. Contracting Maddy was the right decision for my family’s “birthing story” .
Maddy has this wonderful calm way of making everyone comfortable and trusting of her knowledge, skills and abilities to ensure a positive labor and delivery. I personally felt respected and valued every step of the way. She was very knowledgeable and prompt and answered all of my questions without hesitation. Maddy even helped me through a diagnoses of Vitamin D deficiency. She calmed my fears and provided me with the needed information to address it.
During labor I came to really appreciate Maddy for the exceptional person she is. She effectively talked my fiancé through different techniques to help me cope with the contractions. She gave the hospital staff a heads up on my arrival, and made sure staff was waiting for me with a wheelchair ready. Having Maddy present for labor and delivery made all the difference. She constantly reminded me of all the things I wanted. She encouraged me to use different positions while pushing and was available to make sure everyone knew that I wanted immediate skin to skin contact with my son. I need to stress that Maddy’s presence made such a positive difference. She empowered me to listen to my body and deliver my baby in a warm supportive and loving environment. What a different experience this time around, all thanks to a doula by the name of Maddy.

Madeline was wonderful with giving advice during my pregnancy. She was passionate about assisting me and she made sure to listen to all of my concerns about labor and delivery, being that this was my first pregnancy. She's excited about what she does and was available 24/7 to answer any questions I had.

Maddy is an incredible doula and a wonderful friend. She provided me with so many important resources during my pregnancy, and was always available to answer my questions and ease my concerns. Thanks to her connections, I was able to try acupressure at 40 weeks, and the next day I went into labor!!
She helped me through my labor with warm packs and hip compresses over a birth ball, and stayed with me every moment through a long, difficult pushing phase. She advocated my desires to my midwives when I was unable, and was just a wonderfully comforting presence for myself and my husband. I couldn't have done it without her.

I requested Madeline Dillon as my doula to assist in the support in the birth of my first child. Overall she has gone above and beyond; knitting personal baby’s hats and blankets, providing me with birth class information, books, movies, and information on natural childbirth as well as attending birth classes and doctors visits, and even making arrangements to receive meals for my first post partum month, and various information on postpartum health and breastfeeding consultants. Throughout delivery and the days before Madeline never left my side, coaching me to breathe, visualization of the cervix opening, back support, birthing ball and all. I went to the hospital twice in labor and she was there well prepared and answering every question I or my family had. Without Madeline I would not have been properly educated on childbirth, and I can't wait to work with her again.

The morning I started labor I was nervous with excitement. I called Madeline to let her know I thought it was time. She walked through the door with her bag, or bags, odd tools. A birthing ball, massage aids, calming lotion, a rice heating bag, snacks and water. Of course she had given me tools of my own throughout my pregnancy. A Doppler to listen to baby’s heart, herbal teas, a wealth of books and articles for reference on all things pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and having a new baby. Even belly bands and maternity clothes when I couldn't afford them myself.
She always did whatever she could to make me more comfortable and my pregnancy smoother. Waiting faithfully by her phone, ready to calm silly panicky pregnancy questions or there when I needed to vent because things were just too much. I don't know how I could have made it through birth without her. Remembering each time as I slowly rolled my head up from the dreary daze of labor, tunnel vision in full effect and the sound of voices only a beautiful hum, to see her smiling at me reminding me I can do this. Who knows the outcome if she hadn't shown me that it’s not only better, but right, to trust my body to labor naturally. She kept me focused. Kept moving me to positions to help the force of the contractions. She knew when to squeeze my hips, help me to the bath, then the birthing ball, back to the bath.
When the moment finally arrived of my daughter’s birth the room glowed. The morning sun shined and the air breathed relief. She stayed there with us as we stared at the wonder of this new miracle. Madeline made sure to follow with the birth plan and ensure that breastfeeding started immediately.
She had been there before, during, and after.
Helping to bring a baby into the world is not a business, a job, or a profession. It is a privilege. A humbling privilege that only those with the biggest of hearts are able to earn. I was lucky to find someone.
