Post a testimonial for Melissa Wright

we had Melissa as our overnight postpartum doula once a week for 12 weeks, starting when our baby was a week old. She made us feel immediately comfortable.
We actually hired her on our neighbor's recommendation and it was absolutely the right call. She's deeply knowledgeable and guided us on sleep, breastfeeding, and even the little things like trimming nails. On top of that, she was respectful in our home and would help with baby-related tasks if time allowed, like washing bottles or pump parts or folding baby laundry.
We felt very safe and supported, and we'd hire her again in a heartbeat. And we have had her back as our baby has gotten older for some overnights here and there!
Being freshly Postpartum is such a precious and vulnerable time and I was initially very nervous about having a stranger in our home and feeling like I needed to be perfectly presentable, all of that. But she was just so wonderful and that was not a concern at all once we finally met her and she was a part of our lives.
She was so so sweet with our baby too, it was really precious to see.

Melissa was a doula/nanny for our twin daughters part-time for several months in 2025. We loved having her in our home! She was always punctual, very professional and reliable in all ways, and proactive in cleaning, etc while the girls napped. Her demeanor is respectful while also direct and humorous. She has an amazing way with little ones; our girls (toddlers now) still ask to see her often, and because we like her so much, we still make time to see her even though she no longer works for us. I cannot recommend Melissa enough!

Melissa is an amazing resource for any new parent and is truly such a blessing. She showed up the first night with support and excitment to meet our little one. She was encouraging both of us and offered practical advice. She also supported me past the original 4 weeks we worked with her as I navigated PPA and searching for full time child care before returning to work. I recommend Melissa to all new parents looking for postpartum support and child care. She is safe, trustworthy, professional, and caring. Every time she was coming over, I knew our baby, and our family, were in good hands.

Mary Poppins is here in Portland, but without the umbrella because we don't use them here! Melissa came into our home and met us as new, anxious, exhausted, and inexperienced parents. From the very first minute she brought a presence of calm into our house that was instantly reassuring. She is a wealth of knowledge, resources, and encouragement. We are certainly better prepared, and more at ease due to Melissa's help and guidance with our new daughter and our new roles as parents!

Melissa was our overnight doula for two months. She's a gem of a person! You can sense within the first hour that she has a natural knack for caring for babies. We felt very comfortable with trusting her to take of our baby after observing how she handled the LO. Melissa is very professional, never late and communicates clearly, leaving no room for any confusion. Thanks to Melissa, we could get some sleep in the first few months! We would work with her again in a heartbeat.

I had Melissa help me out at a very difficult time in my postpartum period. She was very patient and educated on newborns and postpartum care. I have a lot of anxiety and OCD and she was patient with my concerns and requests.
there was another couple times she really helped me when I couldn't find someone else. When a babysitter cancelled last min she came to help me. Another time when my phone completely died and I didn't know how to get to the store since I was still new to area, she came to help me as my husband works 24 hour shifts. She's trustworthy, reliable, honest, caring and empathetic in ways I think are rare in people now a days. I count her as one of those people who I can always count on as a support.
she was also great with my daughter. Gentle, patient and extremely knowledgeable. For my next child I already plan on asking her to be a resource for me again :)

My husband and I sought out night support when we were completely exhausted trying to get our 3-month-old to sleep without being held. We were at our wits’ end—physically and emotionally—and desperately needed someone we could trust to care for our baby so we could finally get a full night’s sleep and function during the week.
Melissa exceeded every expectation we had. From the very beginning, she was supportive, understanding, and deeply empathetic. She reassured us that we were doing the right things, which gave us so much-needed confidence during a really vulnerable time. On nights she wasn’t with us, I would text her little sleep updates, and she always responded with encouragement and genuine care. Before we knew it, she truly felt like part of our family.
Looking back, we didn’t fully realize just how hard that season was or how much we were struggling. I honestly don’t know how we would have gotten through it without Melissa’s support. She brought not only rest, but peace of mind and a sense of stability back into our home.
We miss seeing her each week now that our little one is sleeping independently, but we are so incredibly grateful for the role she played in helping us get here. Melissa made a lasting impact on our family, and we will always think of that time with so much appreciation and warmth.
