My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Daniella during the postpartum period following the birth of our son. Daniella came to us as a backup doula, stepping in the same day she was requested after our primary doula had an unexpected COVID exposure. Because of those circumstances we had no prenatal planning time with her and no chance to meet beforehand — but she made herself available immediately in what was, for us, an extremely precarious moment. That responsiveness alone was a fantastic effort on her part, and we connected with her right away.

Daniela provided lactation support with both technical skill and real emotional attunement. She honored our request to keep our newborn sleeping as close to us as possible: she fed him, burped him, changed his diaper, and then placed him in the bassinet beside our bed, in a way that felt consistently loving and supportive of our baby. As a nurse, she brought considerable clinical training and knowledge to the doula role, and she paired it with genuine warmth. We especially appreciated that she sang to our baby and talked to him, and that she made us feel she was personally invested in his health, safety, security, and well-being.

Daniela exceeded every expectation we had — in the care she provided and in the support she gave to our son, my wife, and me. Daniela was a fantastic addition to our family's support network and we recommend her without reservation. We would work with her again in a heartbeat, and we will be recommending her to any parents who are expecting!
