My husband and I were in a hard place as a military family we were unsure if he would be here for the birth while I already had a toddler at home. My first birth was extremely traumatic during the pandemic. I was looking to not repeat the cycle. I originally connected with Sarah around 33 weeks and we clicked right away. I met with Suzie after as Sarah's plate was full. Suzie highlighted something for me. The recent loss of my mother and these emotions would most likely come up during the birth. I had not prepared for this and it sealed the deal on me choosing to commit to outside support. You have to understand and be flexible that doulas are running on a lot of unknowns. Suzie had an emergency and Sarah stood in as my birth doula. We started off great at The Birthing Inn until we realized the infant was in an OP position. I left to find pain relief with a hospital. Unfortunately, the hospital staff provided nothing but medical negligence and this was also a traumatizing birth. If we did not have Sarah advocating every step of the way including catching our baby - I know it would have ended terribly. Sarah also provided postpartum support where she became an integral part of our unit as my toddler still wishes she would drop by. We utilized our Carrot Fertility funds for these services rendered. Even without them I would highly recommend both of these womens support. Be flexible, state what you need and ask as early as possible! These women are professionals and want nothing but success for you. Thank you ladies!

Choosing Called to Birth Doulas & Birth Services was the best decision we made for our family. I felt an instant sense of comfort and trust when meeting Sarah & Riva. They were there for me throughout my pregnancy guiding me through any concern and reminding me of my strength. During my labor, their precense was so important as they provided a calming enviroment, helping me manage the pain and helping me feel in control even when things were not going as planned. I cannot imagine my journey without them by my side and I will forever cherish the way they helped our family. If you are considering a doula, I cannot recommend them enough. This team of ladies puts their heart in everything they do.

We are so incredibly grateful for our doula, Sarah and this team. We were connected through a friend who had Sarah as her doula, and was highly recommended. Even though she was already booked and we were way behind in the process, she still took us on. She connected us with the best doctor, who turned out to be one of the reasons we were able to have our VBAC. Without Sarah's advocacy and knowledge in navigating the system, we wouldn't have achieved the birth we were hoping. From the moment we met her, Sarah put us at ease with her calm, confident, and reassuring presence. She took the time to get to know us as a family and understand our wishes for the birth. During labor, Sarah was our rock. She helped us navigate the intensity, kept me comfortable, and empowered us to advocate for ourselves. Dare I say we had fun during labor!! We were laughing and enjoying our time bringing our daughter earthside. Her presence made a huge impact on our ability to have the VBAC we envisioned. It wouldn't have been possible without her. We had a call with Suzie (who graciously offered to be our second if Sarah wasn't available) and she literally was cheering for us and celebrating our VBAC with us. They genuinely care and want the best outcomes for their moms. It was really fantastic to have them in our corner. Even after the birth, Sarah continues to be a valuable resource to us, offering support and guidance as we transition from one baby to two. Also, Riva came out to our house to help with breastfeeding which was such a godsend! Not having to worry about going out with a tiny baby was a huge relief. Her help and expertise was SO beneficial and needed. We cannot recommend these women highly enough! Love them all!!

Sarah is an extremely sincere, genuine person who cares a ton about what she does and the people she's helping. We were meant to have Suzie at first, but our kiddo was dated wrong and we ended up meeting Sarah! Sarah went above and beyond. Not only did she jump in unexpectedly at our 20 week mark and help get me some prenatal supplies, she was ready when I called her at nearly midnight-my baby coming 4.5 weeks early-with fairy lights and a humidifier to set the mood for my labor!

I was prepared for labor and didn't need much help so I waved her off quite a bit and she took it all in stride. I could hear her speaking with my husband when I kicked them both out of the bathroom (where I spent most of my labor) and she seemed to be explaining everything to him and keeping him calm. At the end of my labor, the doctor was extremely concerned about my pushing and asked me to stop and Sarah was right there, trying to help me breathe through contractions rather than push. The doctors made me doubt myself, they looked scared and it scared me, but and when I turned to Sarah, hers was the only face in the room seemingly not panicked. In the end, my body knew what it was doing and my baby was born naturally- albiet quite early- and sent away to the NICU after an extremely quick 6 hour labor.

Immediately Sarah got in touch with other moms she's been a doula to and asked if anyone had premie clothes for my little guy. 2 days later she brought me an ENTIRE CAR FULL of baby clothes, pumps, a carseat, postpartum supplies, etc. She got me in touch with a local mom group and referred me to Family Connects. She knew we didnt have a villiage and she rallied the one she helped create. So while I may not have "needed" her for my labor, she has truly made a HUGE difference since. She is honestly part of the family now and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I hired Sarah for the birth of my third child because, although I was planning a hospital birth this time, I still longed for a peaceful, “at home” experience—similar to the ones I had at the birthing inn with my previous two births. I was feeling more anxious this time around, but Sarah helped ease so many of my worries.

From the beginning, she advocated for me and made sure the doctors and nurses followed my birth plan—delayed cord clamping, freedom to move and not be strapped to the bed, two full hours of skin-to-skin, and more. Even when things didn’t go as planned (my water broke and contractions didn’t start for 12 hours, so I had to be induced), Sarah was there through it all. Her presence, encouragement, and calm were truly grounding.

One of the most special parts of this experience was that we share the same faith. Sarah reminded my husband to pray over me during labor and helped us create a spiritually peaceful atmosphere—even in the hospital setting. She brought a diffuser with essential oils, soft lighting, and a calming presence that transformed the room. It meant the world to me.

After the birth, she continued to care for me by sending a postpartum sitz bath and checking in with a visit.

Having Sarah as our doula was a complete game changer. I can’t recommend her enough—she brought peace, advocacy, support, and so much love into one of the most important moments of our lives.

Suzie and Sarah are the best support people we could have ever asked for! Unfortunately, my birth plan took a quick turn from the birthing center to an emergency ride to the hospital to deliver. I was in absolute panic mode because everything felt so scary, but Suzie came in and made everything as perfect as can be. Not only did Suzie support me in ways I never knew I would need because this was my first birth, but also my husband! Suzie guided my husband and taught him how he could support me  during labor and delivery. We are forever grateful for Suzie's knowledge, experience and love during this time. I can't imagine how we could have done it without her! 
Sarah worked to support us immediately postpartum. This is our first baby and even after all the classes and time we took to learn about becoming new parents, we had no idea how hard it would be those first days and weeks. Sarah was available to support me emotionally when I didn't even know I needed it. She made herself available to visit us in home to help our first night home which was SUPER impactful. She was also available by phone for more support which was so reassuring. I will recommend this team to anyone who will listen. They rock!

Sarah reached out to me when I first started attending appointments at The Birthing Inn in my third trimester to see if Doula services were needed. I was hesitant just because this was my first pregnancy and I wasn't sure if I needed one. I was 35, almost 36 weeks and decided I wanted a doula and Sarah made it happen last minute for me. She has been the most supportive and kind doula there is! She checked in on me daily during my pregnancy and picked me up to take me to the birth center when I was in labor. At our sons birth she was right by my side and went above and beyond to help my husband and I with everything we needed. If you're looking for the best doula look no further!

She coached my husband on how he could support me during labor and also tried to support him by ensuring he was eating, drinking, and taking a walk if he felt queezy at all. 

Postpartum, she made herself available to me via text or call anytime to talk through my postpartum anxiety, depression, and rage -- all of which I had to some degree. Having someone to call and normalize everything I was feeling was so key to my PP recovery. She came to our house to check in, which helped my anxiety a ton.

My favorite part about Sarah is how real she is. She doesn't sugar coat anything -- she will tell you how it is. But she will still make you feel confident that you can get through it, what your feeling is normal, and you are not alone. Sarah is amazing and we were so blessed to have her on this journey.

Working with Called to Birth Doulas was a dream! During my pregnancy, I felt extremely supported by my doula, Suzie. She made me feel confident and ready for my first birthing experience. When labor approached Suzie was there with me, guiding and supporting me through every contraction. She knew what to do in every single moment and I honestly don’t know what I would have done without her there for my birth! Postpartum, Sarah came over to our house and answered any questions we had and brought over some supplies we were in need of. It felt nice to talk about all the things postpartum that no one really talks about, and feel understood and supported. I highly recommend Called to Birth Doulas and I cannot wait to use them again for my next pregnancy!

My experience with Sarah was the best! When we first met we knew we loved her. We started bonding right away, she was a such a blessing in our paths. She was there with us through the whole pregnancy all the way to contractions, how to time them, and called us during our labor at home, to having our baby. I decided to go to the hospital, where she arrived shortly behind us. She worked hard with me to fulfill our birth plan. My favorite part, aside from her being an amazing advocate for us, and communicating with the Dr. was when I got an epidural. She stepped in front of me and held my face, looked me right in the eyes & gently talked me through it while they put it in. I remeber how hard I gripped her arms & she didn't budge. There was so much compassion and steadiness in her voice, her body stood firm, & she was able to help me get it done. NO fault of Sarah's, I ended up c-section. Sarah talked me through everything keeping me as calm as she could. I unfortunately had to be put to sleep but, she was with my partner to support him and walk him through the process. We had our baby safely. WE ARE THANKFUL FOR SARAH BEING THERE WITH US EVERY STEP OF THE WAY, EVEN AFTER. She is one of the most amazing people I've had the pleasure of meeting, professionally and personally. I am grateful for her sharing her birthing experience with me & helping me cope with mine. She has an amazing drive & such a genuine, gentle, progressive soul. We love everything about her, we consider her a friend, I would recommend her to anyone. We wouldn't want anyone else there with us. My partner is also so grateful for her & keeping him calm so he could show up for me. We will always recommend her. Sarah has such a special place in my heart. This isn't just a job for her, she genuinely cares & will do anything to advocate and carry you along the way. She is special, & we are forever amazed by her. THANK YOU SARAH, we will forever love and respect you!

My experience with doulas Suzie and Sarah was nothing short of incredible. Throughout my pregnancy and birthing journey, they were not only kind, loving, and nurturing but also provided unwavering support and encouragement. Sarah attended my birth and will forever hold a special place in my heart. She was like an angel by my side, holding me through each contraction with a calming presence that eased my fears and gave me strength. Suzie and Sarah worked seamlessly together, ensuring that my needs were met and that I felt empowered every step of the way. Their guidance and expertise were invaluable, and I cannot thank them enough for their dedication to making my birthing experience as positive and memorable as possible. I am forever grateful for the love and support they provided during one of the most transformative moments of my life.

Additionally, after the birth, Sarah went above and beyond by preparing a warm meal for my fiancé and me. The chicken noodle soup, bread, and butter not only nourished our bodies but also warmed our souls, providing a comforting conclusion to our birthing journey.

Mackenzie also made my placenta pills and tincture and created a beautiful watercolor print of my placenta, adding her kindness to the mix. Their care extended beyond expectations, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.

Sarah S. was our doula support for the birth of our first son. Her postpartum doula care provided  physical nutrients, emotional support, and wealth of expert knowledge of other pediatric and postpartum care specialists in our area. These supports saved us time & tears, and gifted us the pleasure of focusing on solely caring and loving our newborn.  She spirited us on a gentle path into parenthood when all other paths thus far had felt chaotic and hurried. 
10/10 would recommend Sarah and her team, well worth the investment.

My experience with Suzie and Sarah as my doulas was reassuring and warm. It's obvious by their compassion and dedication that they love their work. Sarah spent a day and a half at least with us when our son was being born. Her being there for both me and my significant other made us both feel so much more knowledgeable and prepared. We can't thank them enough and would recommend them to anyone! We love you Sarah and Suzie; you are the best!

What an amazing team of women! Suzie and Sarah supported us in exactly the way we needed. During a long 39 hour labor and swapping from two different locations they were with us the whole way and made the process so much smoother for us. They are so charismatic, caring, and fully supportive of not only the person giving birth but also their support person. My husband was given many opportunities to be involved in the birthing process and they constantly checked in with him to make sure he was okay as well. Suzie was with us upon delivery of our baby boy and she was amazing at helping me find peace in the chaos, supporting me exactly how I needed and keeping my family in the loop. We appreciate them being our team and couldn't imagine using any other Doulas for our future children. They feel like a part of our family.

I don't think words can describe how amazing Susie and Sarah are! We met a few weeks before giving birth and in just the initial two phone call I had with both of them I could tell, they were the ones! They cared so much for me and my family and they hadn't even met me and at the time there wasn't any talk of being my doulas yet. It was "we want to help you, even if you aren't our client." That made me love them so much more and made me realize they were a perfect fit for our family! Weeks leading up to birth they both were texting and calling seeing how I was doing, how appointments went, giving points on exercises to do to help me progress, praising me for what I was doing and encouraging me to keep doing, and reassuring me that my daughter would come in her own time and everything was gonna be okay (I'm a worrier). The time came! Sarah was the doula available but that didn't mean Suzie wasn't there in spirit! Sarah was there both times we went to our birthing center in the wee hours of the morning. Always helping me with positions, coaching me, giving encouragement to both my husband and I, and just taking care of us throughout our time there. Brought us soup, made my husband coffee, made sure I was drinking fluids, helping my husband help me, and went out and got us breakfast after birth. I couldn't have done it without just one member of my birth team's help and that means Suzie and Sarah! The following weeks after they would check up on me to see how check up went and to see how we were doing enjoying pictures being sent to them as well. All of this to say, if Suzie and Sarah are the perfect match for you, let them love you!! That's what they do and they are so amazing at it! Can't wait to call them next time to tell them I'm pregnant again!

My birth was magical! The 4 main players were: mindful physical preparation, education on l&d and pp, amazing birth team, and most importantly, peace from the Lord. 

I am grateful to have Sarah, my doula, present in my life during pregnancy, birth, and pp. During pregnancy, Suzie amd Sarah both prepared my mindset for a celebration - dimmed lights, candles, twinkle lights, aromatherapy, music in the background. This was unusual for me coming from the Slavic background. I've never heard of birth as a celebratory event before... ? ??? ????? ?????? (Who know birth could look like that??) Sarah also talked me through the packing checklist so I don't under/over pack.

During labor and delivery, Sarah suggested useful tips to help me be nourished, hydrated, and well rested. Then reminded me to breathe and relax when my body got tense during the contractions. She saw exactly we're the tension was, and addressed those areas. Additionally, she took pictures & videos to capture this magical moment; for this I am extremely grateful for!!

After delivery, she prepared a beautiful, fancy meal for hubby and me and a Goodie bag with useful gifts to take home.  

Through the recovery period, she'd reach out to check on me every few days and help with any questions I had. We even went for a walk together once I was feeling better. I pray to have Sarah again at my next birth!

Suzie and Sarah treated me like family! I live far away from my family, so it made a huge difference having them to care for me before, during, and after my birth; a time when I am most vulnerable. I highly recommend them as doulas because they were felxible, and always encouraging. Sarah attended my birth and helped me manage my pain, and helped me regain confidence when I was doubting myself. I would invite them to assist me for another birth in the future!

Straight up Amazing! We had the pleasure of getting Sarah to be a part of our team for baby Leif, and for first time parents, kinda didnt know exactly what to expect. But it couldnt have gone better if we had actually tried to plan it. Every concern or question through the entire pregnancy, Sarah was there to answer and help ease any stress and give peace of mind and when it was time for the big moment, we couldnt have felt like we were in better hands. Absolutely adore you Sarah! We will now and forever had a special bond and friendship:) This was far more incredible than we could ever have imagined.

What do you look for when searching for a doula? Is it training, hands on experience, communication, or availability? For me, I needed this and more such as kindness, passion for their work, compatability etc. Sarah and Suzie checked every single box for me and so much more. 

Prior to birth, I spoke with Sarah and Suzie both seperatly and together. Each interaction gave me a sense of peace, knowing that I would be in good hands when it came time to deliver. That's exactly what happened, 6 weeks early to be exact. During the scariest time of my life, Sarah sprung into action to be by my side. Not only was my labor scary, it was also uncertain since within the last week of pregnacny I was diagnosed as high risk which completely changed the birth plan. This did not detour neither Sarah from the new task at hand. 

When Sarah arrived at the hospital, I felt as if the weight of the world from what I could control was lifted from my shoulders. She advocated for me in ways I couldn't have done myself. She gave me comfort and assured me that everything was going to be ok. Sarah cared, coached and advocated for me during labor in ways that you can only hope and pray for. She even continues to check on my family and I after the birth of my child. 

So when you are searching for a birth doula; consider someone that will always act in your best interest, communicate and understand your wants and needs, and treat you as if you were one of their own. You will get this and more from Sarah and Suzie; I guarantee this is a decision you will be happy with.

We had a wonderful experience with Sarah and Suzie as our birth doulas. Sarah was there with us at the hospital for the birth of my son. She was a constant source of support, courage and comfort for my 20+ hours of labor and delivery. I was uneasy about a hospital birth, but knowing that I had such an experienced doula by my side, advocating for my wishes, made me feel so much better. It was also very valuable for my husband to have Sarah with us, guiding the way so that he could focus on caring for me. The care and support from both Sarah and Suzie before and after the birth was comforting, complete and informative. Thank you for helping us welcome our baby into the world!

Hiring a doula was probably the best decision we could of made during pregnancy. Sarah was a huge help to my wife and I. She had genuine care not only for us but also for the baby. She answered every question we had at any given time of the day. Sarah always made sure to give my wife and I our space but intervened when it was necessary, we loved that. We highly recommend her. Our primary doula caught COVID a few days before my wife went into labor. Sarah stepped (without having met either of us) the day my wife went into labor.

She was an **ABSOLUTE ROCKSTAR** and provided amazing support to both my wife and myself during the birth. We are both **SO VERY HAPPY** with the care we received from her and highly recommend her.

She coached my wife to try various positions during labor, provided emotional support for both of us as well, and suggested natural remedies to help ease the pain.

I believe she was instrumental in us achieving the non-medicated, vaginal birth we had planned.

Highly recommended. HIRE HER ALREADY! :)

From the moment I met Sarah I felt her genuine care and love for the families she works with and birth! Sarah is incredibly passionate about her work as a doula and she is so sweet, caring, and supportive. I'm beyond grateful that I had a doula who was available at any time when I needed anything!! Sarah was available by text or phone call and she always made sure that I knew to contact her if I needed anything!  Sarah included my husband along the way and gave us guidance as a couple and to me individually. Sarah was gentle, loving, and so knowledgeable (positions, relaxation techniques, etc). She believed in me and gave me the strength to keep going and laboring when I needed extra confidence. I labored for a couple days at home and her ongoing support kept me focused and determined to trust in my body and continue to focus on my goal of meeting my baby.  I had only known her a few weeks before my birth (I chose to hire a doula towards the end of my pregnancy) and it felt like I had known her for years. Sarah was the "mom" that I chose to have at my birth. She was so easy to talk to, lean into for support, and just so easy to LOVE. She brought my husband and I dinner on the first night I labored. I was already so tired and hungry and she brought us a home cooked meal. Sarah has such a genuine and LOVING heart. Anytime we needed her she was there as quickly as she could be (both at the Birthing inn and the hospital). Even after birth she still reached out to me to check in and support me with all the postpartum feeling I was having. I cannot thank Sarah enough for all of her support during labor and her endless love and care for my family. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Sarah is, hiring her as your Doula is the best decision you could make for your pregnancy and birth experience!

Sarah and Suzie are amazing! My birth unexpectedly changed very rapidly and Sarah was there for me every step of the way! Definitely recommend these doulas for anyone who needs support for their birth!
