I'm a second time mom who did not have a doula during rhe birth of my first child. Because of that, I didn't think I needed a doula, and nearly rejected the idea of having someone other than my husband support me during birth. But because I needed my husband to be more attentive to our daughter, I knew I needed some help. And THANK GOD I found Laurie. She was incredibly compassionate, matched my mindset and I felt like she really listened to and responded to my needs throughout the birth. She was super helpful in connecting me with resources before birth that really is supporting my postpartum journey (including plugging me into the local community of moms), and was the biggest help in the weeks following birth. I appreciated that I didn't have to ask for specifics, she just anticipated my needs and always came through. Would highly recommend Laurie for anyone searching for a down to earth doula, who respects your traditions, preferences, and creates an empowering spcae for you to just be mom! Thank you for all you did and do, Laurie!!
