Brooke was my doula for my third baby, born at St. Joseph East in Lexington, and I can't recommend her enough!

Even after two beautiful births with an incredibly supportive husband, including a natural water birth, I'd never used a doula. But I knew another natural water birth would take a strong support system, especially in a hospital that was new to me. Brooke went above and beyond anything I expected.

When I went into labor, my midwife wasn't available, so I was working with a care team I didn't know. Having Brooke with me through my pregnancy and right there at the birth gave me the consistency I needed and made me so much more comfortable. Water births aren't common at this hospital, and Brooke advocated for me with the nurses and midwife so I could have the birth I had planned.

During labor, Brooke followed my birth plan and knew exactly what I needed, whether that was essential oils, counter-pressure, or massage. She was wonderful at hands-on comfort, and she still made sure my husband was part of every moment.

As a Christian, I was blown away by Brooke's calm, thoughtful, and prayerful presence. At my request, she played worship music throughout my labor, and it set a peaceful tone for the whole birth.

Her care didn't stop once my daughter arrived. She checked on me and supported me afterward, and it meant so much.

I couldn't have asked for more beautiful birth support here in Lexington. If you're hoping for a natural birth, or you just want someone steady and caring in your corner, Brooke is the doula you want.

As a first-time mom wanting to explore a more natural approach to birth, Brooke was truly incredible. ?? The people closest to me hadn’t experienced natural births themselves, so it was really important to me to have someone in my corner who could educate me, answer my questions, and help me feel confident making decisions for my birth plan.

During labor, not only did I appreciate Brooke SO much, but my husband and mom did too! She helped explain what was happening throughout the process, suggested different things to make me more comfortable, and created the most calming atmosphere. She brought lighting, music, different tools to help with pain management… & massages!!! lol 

I’m so thankful Brooke was part of such a special day for our family. She helped me feel supported, calm, and confident while still allowing the experience to feel like ours. I would absolutely recommend her to any mom, especially a first-time mom wanting some extra support and education going into birth! ????

Brooke was such a special part of welcoming our sweet Evie into the world. She was calm, encouraging, and so supportive throughout my labor, and I truly felt cared for every step of the way. I’m so thankful we had her by our side. She went the extra mile to make the hospital room feel cozy with candles and music, and she advocated for me at exactly the right moments to help me have the birth I wanted. I’m so grateful she was part of such a special day for our family. ??

We’ve been so excited to write our review for Brooke! I wanted an unmedicated birth just like with our first baby. Things got very rocky and I was told I needed an emergency c-section, when I arrived to the OR they assessed me one more time and I ended up having a vaginal birth. Brooke was with us every step of the way. We were following my unmedicated birth plan amazingly for 8 hours. Every time I was asked a question and I couldn’t answer or she heard hesitation come from me she would jump right to an answer from our birth plan, or sit next to me to calmly explain what was occurring. She talked me through every contraction, gave not just me but my husband so many great tips on how to get through each one. When the time came to rush to the OR, Brooke made sure my husband and her were both there to support me and  quickly scrubbed in. She talked to me calmly and reassured me multiple times that everything would be okay. My husband said she was the person that kept him calm in the midst of all the panic. Brooke was an absolute blessing. When I first reached out to Brooke to be our doula I only had the simple understanding of what a doula does but after my experience, I can tell you that having her there was a sense of peace in not having to always think on your own when your going through the toughest pain, it’s also having an advocate for you and your husband because honestly if it weren’t for Brooke my husband would’ve more then likely missed the birth of our baby with all the commotion. I also want to give her a huge shoutout on the fact that both my mom and MIL are Spanish speaking and she made sure that they were also explained every single thing that was occurring so that they would not feel excluded!! I would 100% have Brooke be there at every one of my delivery’s and everyone considering it should also let her be apart of their special day!

From the moment labor became intense, she was exactly the support I needed. There were multiple points where I was convinced I couldn’t keep going and was begging for an epidural. Instead of letting me panic, Brooke stayed calm, encouraged me, and helped me find ways to work through each contraction.

When I reached my breaking point, she suggested getting into the shower. That decision completely changed everything. Thanks to her guidance and encouragement, I ended up having the completely natural, physiological birth I had hoped for.

She wasn’t just there for me, she was incredible for my husband too. She helped him know exactly what to say and do to support me physically and emotionally throughout labor, making him feel confident and involved instead of overwhelmed. Together, they made an amazing team, and I truly believe my experience would have been completely different without her.

Brooke respected my birth plan, advocated for my wishes, and gave me confidence when I didn’t think I had any left. Looking back on my birth, one of the biggest reasons it went so beautifully was because she was there.

If you’re considering hiring a birth doula, I cannot recommend Brooke highly enough. I will always be grateful for the role she played in bringing our daughter into the world.

Brooke supported us through an unplanned induction, not only keeping us grounded but also advocating for our birth plan when we couldn’t! 

My labor was long, 30+ hrs but Brooke was there right when we called on her to help me through contractions. Before that (at our request) she was a lifeline on the phone that we could reach out to at any time with questions as we navigated the long induction process! When things got intense, Brooke coached me and my husband through different coping skills and with the sweetest words of encouragement. 

When I felt like I couldn’t do it anymore and let myself down, she stepped up to re-frame my thoughts and turned a challenging birth story into a perfect one! 

When I was deep in transition and almost ready to meet our baby, she quickly added candles around the room and set up the most peaceful environment without us even having to ask. And once our sweet baby was born, she again advocated for us when the doctors tried rushing the delivery of my placenta without me knowing! 

I cannot speak highly enough of Brooke. She met us on the best day of our lives and we will forever be grateful for her and her knowledge - she truly has a gift and will help many more moms without a doubt!
