I had an incredible experience with Cari as my primary doula and working with her and Suzanne's team. 

My original doula had an emergency at 38 weeks pregnant, so I got shifted very last minute to Cari and Suzanne as her backup. I had a lot of anxiety about this, but they handled everything with care, compassion, and thoughtfulness. We immediately set up a meeting in person and reviewed my birth plan to get caught up.

They both supported me via text leading up to delivery with checking in on symptoms, responding to my questions, and offering recommendations.

I had a very long 33 hour labor and Cari was there each step of the way. From coming to our home in the first few hours of contractions, to meeting us at the hospital even though I got sent home at 1cm, to being with us all night until I was fully dialated, and present during my C-section surgery, she was exactly what my husband and I needed.. A lot of things did not go as planned in my birth, and Cari offered helpful feedback an clarity around what was happening that allowed me to feel clear in my decisons around my birth and provided a lot of reassurance. 

During my C-section, I was expecting to be done in an hour, but unfortunately it took nearly 2 hours to anethisize me. Cari was still with me through all the discomfort, pain, and frustration, continuing to validate my feelings and support me during and after my surgery. 

I could not have done this without her by my side. She came over to process the birth after, Suazanne also visited us during my postpartum stay, and her and Suzanne have regularly been checking in with me (now about 6 weeks postpartum). They have been great resources for questions or concerns I have. While this was not my initial plan, I'm really glad this worked out. My husband who was very skeptical of doulas was grateful for all the support. We'd highly recommend Cari/Suzanne for your doula needs!
