Hi, I’m Qaila (pronounced kai-lah)! Pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum look different for every body and for every baby. I take a client-led approach in my work. You know what you need from a doula, and I am here to meet those needs. If you don’t know what your needs are, I’m here to help you figure it out. My work as a doula, like the caregiving work I did before becoming a doula, is grounded in my values: joy, justice, and stewardship. I lead with all three of these values in my practice. Birth can be so joyful, should always be just, and is innately a practice in stewardship. All of these things are true regardless of your identity, your situation, and how you choose to give birth. I’ll support you with comfort measures, evidence-based information, and emotional support so you can feel empowered in your birth experience. In the postpartum period, I’ll work with you and baby to adjust, recover, and feel cared for as you move into a new chapter. If you aren’t staying with baby, we’ll focus on your personal recovery and transition.

Fee Details

My standard birth package includes: text/phone support, 3 prenatal visits, labour, and 3 postpartum check-ins. I offer a sliding scale for clients upon request and if we create a unique package together, we can discuss fee changes as well. My postpartum package includes care for you, baby, and your house/the other people in it. In most cases, ask and you shall receive!
