Post a testimonial for Terah Motzkus

As a first-time mom, I wanted a doula who could not only support me during birth but also help my spouse feel prepared and involved throughout the process. Working with Terah exceeded every expectation we had. I appreciated how she broke down information into manageable pieces and provided trustworthy resources. She never pushed an agenda and always supported me in making the decisions that felt right for me. Her birth class was also incredible and something I highly recommend. It gave us practical knowledge, helped us feel prepared, and built our confidence going into labor and birth.
When it came time to give birth, she was everything we could have hoped for in a doula. She was prepared and tenacious in her support. I never doubted that she was there for me. She advocated for me when I needed it, helped me find my strength when things felt overwhelming, and provided the kind of emotional and physical support that made a tremendous difference in my birth experience.
Terah also provided a postpartum visit that was critical in my postpartum healing. She created a space to process my birth experience that was gentle and warm. She took her time and actually sat with me. This visit was an important part of my postpartum journey and something I continue to appreciate.
I cannot recommend Terah enough. She is compassionate, knowledgeable, deeply committed, and exceptionally skilled at what she does. If you're looking for a doula who will educate, support, advocate, and truly show up for you, she is the one!

Terah is a phenomenal teacher and birth coach! She took concepts from the material and personalized them to our needs. My husband and I felt much more prepared going into labor and confident we could have a positive experience. My son's birth was beautiful and empowering! We're so glad we took this class from Terah and that we had her as a doula during labor!

Having Terah walk beside us on our pregnancy and delivery journey was an unbelievable blessing! Terah helped both my husband and I feel educated, informed, and empowered throughout the process. Her guidance, wisdom, and approach helped us both to release the fears that we had about labor and delivery and to step into this new chapter with confidence and joy! Throughout the labor process Terah was a lifesaver, helping us navigate decisions with grace and providing practical methods for comfort to make the entire experience more calm and centered. We can’t imagine going through this experience without her, and highly recommend her to anyone in search of a doula who makes them feel truly listened to, advocated for, and taken care of. Terah is tremendously gifted at what she does and we are so grateful that she is part of our story!!

I took Terah's birth prep class and she helped me as a doula. She was amazing! I learned so much from her in class as well as during our pre-birth meetings. She was so understanding and helped me feel more confident going into labor. Terah was so good at advocating for me at the hospital and supporting my husband and me through the whole thing. I also appreciated her help postpartum as well, coming over with dinner and cleaning! Can't recommend her enough!

Terah is an amazing doula and awesome person to have on your birth team! She is exactly want you want in a doula—supportive, kind, gentle, and intuitive. At our prenatal appointment, she gave me and my husband both physical and emotional birth preparations, getting us ready to welcome our baby into the world. When told her that I wanted to give birth squatting, she didn’t hesitate one bit and encouraged me to lean into my intuition. On the day that my baby decided to come, Terah was ready in every way. She read my body language and anticipated my next move and what my needs would be. When I was in transition and couldn’t sit on the toilet or lean on the bed anymore, Terah whipped out her Rebozo and hung it behind the door for me to hold onto and squat. After 6 minutes of pushing, my baby arrived safely and through the exact position I wanted to deliver him! During my postpartum appointment, Terah was so sweet and supported my whole family. Just do yourself a favor and go hire Terah, you won’t regret it!

I was preparing to have my first baby and knew that I wanted a doula to help me get through my labor. Terah responded quickly and spent 30-45 minutes on zoom with me asking a bunch of questions. Everything was super clear and really easy to navigate with her!
She came to our home twice before the baby came to help educate us, figure out what our priorities are, to walk through other details that we needed to understand to help make delivery easier. She was so easy to talk to about the medical concerns I had that might have gotten in the way of accomplishing my ultimate goal of a epidural free delivery and walked me through all my options without ever pressuring me into a decision.
I ended up having a medical induction at 39 weeks gestation. Terah helped keep an incredibly peaceful environment by suggesting to turn down the lights, reminding the hospital staff about our priorities, navigating every wave/contraction without me having to say a word, reminding me to breathe and stay relaxed, directing me to different positions we could try, showing my husband how to do counter pressure techniques, taking turns with my husband through the day, and many other things.
She was instrumental in getting me through the toughest parts of delivery. Terah knew that I was in transition and she whispered to my husband that I was super close to having the baby. They teamed up to support me through that intense time and soon after, my baby was born!
She stayed for about an hour and a half after the birth of the baby and helped to guide the start of breastfeeding. She reminded the hospital staff that we wanted to wait for the cord to stop pulsing before cutting it. She also coordinated to pickup of our placenta directly at the hospital that same day (which had just been decided upon that same day). She was amazing at helping me through the hardest day of my life, and I couldn’t have done it without her!
